Chapter Eleven
I arrive at the restaurant ten minutes early. And as usual, Chase is already waiting. He was friendly on the phone but I am not sure what to expect when I see him. I step into the dining area and my fears subside. Chase greets me with a wide smile, stands, and crosses the room to greet me.
“Kiara, it's so good to see you.” He wraps one arm around my shoulders and plants a soft kiss on my cheek.
“It's good to see you, too.” I let him guide me to the table. “How have you been?”
“I've been keeping well,” he says. “You were right... I needed time to calm down. Once I did, I realized that telling my dad was the right thing to do. I expected him to disapprove, but when it actually happened it hurt more than I thought it would. I took that hurt out on you, which wasn't fair. I'
