Chapter Six I check the time on my dashboard clock as I pull into the parking lot of Shirley's Diner. Jenny called this morning and asked me to meet her for lunch. I went for a run and lost track of time, so now I'm fifteen minutes late. I park my car and rush into the restaurant. “I'm sorry,” I say quickly as I slide into the booth. Jenny is bigger since I last saw her and she looks miserable. “I went jogging and forgot my phone. I hope you didn't wait on me to order.” “Are you kidding me? Now that the morning sickness has passed, I have to eat all of the time. I ordered before I even sat down.” As she speaks, a waitress arrives with a platter of pancakes, bacon, hash-browns, and eggs.
