BREATHLESSLY, Amaru thrust his sword into every enemy he encounters that were attempting to wound him. His eyes were alert to every movement happening around him. with each movement of his sword, it was followed by the shout and groan of the enemy he targeted.
There was nothing to be heard all around but shouts of fear, groans, and cries full of pain, and the sound of swords meeting in battle. When he finally got the chance, he turned his eyes around to look for his brother.
He saw him battling against the Alpha of the enemy's pact.
"Xerxes!" he shouted to his friend who then had no opponent to face.
"Gamma!" Xerxes runs towards him.
"Go to the Alpha, make sure there's no attacker behind his back!" Amaru ordered.
His friend nodded and that's what he did immediately as Amaru continued to attack, advancing to the opponent and making sure to win against all of them.
They had already started moments earlier, some of their pact warriors must be tired of fighting now and some already had died. Even him, he had already mixed the blood that came from the wounds on his arm and some parts of his body and his sweat continued to flow along with his heavy breathing.
By the time his brother defeats the Alpha, the fight will surely end and everyone will kneel to his brother, Remus, but he can't help him do that, Remus will just be angry at him instead of being grateful.
He quickly ran to the big wooden house that was in the middle of the village, probably the house of the Alpha. He fearlessly entered that house and was greeted by the enemies with their swords and attacks.
He used all his strength to rally the four of them. But as he was being careful, he was still hit in his right hand causing him to let go of his sword.
He rolled even though he felt the excruciating pain, at once he wanted to hit the enemy with his sword in too much anger, he quickly stood up and pulled the dagger from his side and threw it at his nearest opponent, he hit it on the head, before he jumped and with full force, he pulled it out and stabbed the other one in the neck as he lands. He was right when he fell near his sword, he picked it up and stabbed the third and fourth before they could get ahead of him.
He entered the house successfully and made sure there was nothing left there, he jumped out of the window and that's when he came across the defeat of the opponent's Alpha and the rise of his brother with its sword at the same time as its triumphant growl. The surviving opponents knelt, and they all shouted for victory.
He felt the power in his brother's growl and he immediately felt proud of him.
From now on, their defeated pact will be part of their pact and all the werewolves in their conquered village will recognize his brother as their new Alpha.
They howled, celebrating that they had won. Their victory will double the size and strength of their pact especially since there would be an increase in the number of pact warriors.
Bringing the victory, they immediately went back to their village which is a mountain far from where they are. They brought all the dead bodies and those who were wounded. They all still didn't know how many were casualties, but he knew that Remus would have the least care about it.
For his brother, the most important thing about war is their victory.
When they got to their village, that's just when he felt the pain in his wounds and the exhaustion after the long battle. He immediately laid on the bamboo floor of their house and he felt his mother attended to him before he passed out.
ON the other hand, Ashera woke up in the middle of the night after she had a very bad dream. It was Amaru in her dream being taken away from her.
"A-Ashera?" her sister called her and probably noticed her catching her breath since Zelda was just beside her. Her sister got up and looked at her, "Are you okay?"
Ashera swallowed hard and looked at her sister who was worriedly looking at her, she just nodded, she couldn't utter any word because of her fast heartbeat.
"Did you just have a bad dream?"
She nodded. Her sister caressed her back and then stood up and went to the kitchen, when she came back, she gave her water to drink.
"For you to calm down."
She took the water and drank it, and her sister went back to the kitchen before she joined her again, "Let's go back to sleep, we still have a very long night."
Ashera nodded and laid back, her sister made her face to the side and she tried to forget the dream and just decided to sleep again.
She immediately woke up feeling so excited for the beautiful sunny morning. It was her who woke up lastly, her sister and mother were already in the kitchen preparing for breakfast. Ria is not yet there and she still does not know how her parents could let her be gone for days without scolding her when she comes back.
He saw his father outside their house drinking a hot drink. Ashera immediately went down through the wooden stairs and joined her father.
"Good morning, Father."
Her father smiled at her, "Good morning, Ashera. Looks like my youngest is extra happy today?"
Ashera just smiled, she is happier every day since she had a deeper connection with Amaru, but of course, she cannot tell her family about that fine gentleman with gray eyes that he met in Alawin forest.
She didn't let her dream about Amaru last night ruin her day. Maybe it was a good thing that Ria was also not with them because if Ria's there, she cannot go to Alawin forest while her parents are on the farm. She was very thankful for Zelda who tolerates her stubbornness.
She was in a good mood, of course, not until someone ruined her day. Ruso with his freshly picked flowers and some fruits came.
"Good morning, Mang Gido," he greeted her father first. Ashera rolled her eyes, getting irritated by just hearing his voice.
Does he even know that he has the most annoying voice? She asked in her mind.
"Good morning, Ruso. Come and join us," his father invited.
Ruso looked at her, "Good morning, Ashera."
"Morning," she lazily replied. I already rejected this guy yesterday, what is he doing here now?!
"I brought flowers and fruits for you," Ruso said, trying to sound nice and sweet. Ashera crossed her arms and looked to their house, there she saw her mother and sister watching them. Ruso also looked at where she was looking.
"Good morning, Aling Ayda," he greeted her mother.
Ashera waited for the boastful man to greet her sister Zelda but it didn't happen which made her irritated even more. That was just so rude!
"Ashera, can we talk?" Ruso gently asked her.
His father cleared his throat making her look at her father. "I'll just go to the house for breakfast."
She knew that her father was just giving them the privacy to talk. Ruso put the flowers and fruits he was holding on the table and turned to her. He tried to reach for his hand but she immediately avoided his hold as if she would be hurt for it.
"Ashera…" the man called, he sounded begging. She gritted her teeth.
"I already rejected you, why are you here now?!"
"Ashera I'm very serious about courting you."
Her forehead creased after hearing that, "And I'm serious about rejecting you as well! I'm sorry if this sounds rude to you but I never really like you!"
"Ashera, you do not mean that!" Ruso said like he couldn't believe her, "I'm the most dreamed man here in our village and you will just reject me?! Aren't you glad about me liking you?! A lot of women here dream of my affection, and you're getting it without even asking for it yet you're rejecting me?"
Ashera's jaw clenched, her blood suddenly boiled because of his words, "Are you telling me to be grateful for having you as my suitor, Ruso?!"
Ruso looked at her being so amused with her sudden reaction, "Then who are you?!" Ashera asked, emphasizing the words.
"Ashera…"
"I already told you a lot of times, I'm not interested, yet you insisted. Now that you were rejected, you will still force yourself on me and ask me to be grateful for having you as my suitor?! Then I even ask for you to do it? You couldn't even greet my sister, and it's a big deal. You're not just making her feel insulted, you even act like she doesn't exist."
"Ashera… you do not know the reason behind that—"
"Then tell me the reason behind that—"
Amaru looked at her again, "Why? Wait… are you jealous?"
Ashera's mouth parted, she never thought of that, not even once, "What?!" she yelled, asking.
"Are you jealous of me and your sister?!"
Ashera groaned, he misunderstood it. She felt so stressed and tired, she didn't know how to react. She was so annoyed.
"You know what, Ruso? You better start waking up from your fantasy!" She yelled and went back to their house.
"Ashera!" She heard Ruso keep calling her outside their house. She was fuming mad when she got inside their house, she went to her father in the kitchen.
"Father, can you please tell Ruso to stop courting me?!" she said, even her mother looked at her.
"Why?" her mother was the first to ask.
"He is annoying, I don't like him!" she said, "I just hate him so much!"
"Ashera!" his father called, warning her attitude.
Ashera sighed, "I don't like him, Father. I don't like him!"
"He is a good man, Ashera," her mother said, "Don't you like him?"
"No, thank you very much," she said and left the kitchen, she even rolled her eyes in too much irritation.
I only like Amaru, no one else, just him.
