After Ashera left, instead of going back to the pact's village, Amaru roamed around the forest instead and searched for something. He was just walking and looking around, searching for the perfect one and the best he could get.
There, finally, he found the one that could pass his standards, he is not good at naming flowers, he never knew any name of it since he never got an interest in getting one, just now.
It was a flower with different colors, the petals were small but were glowing. If he isn't wrong, during the night these flowers glow beautifully like they have a moon or stars inside them. It was a rare flower to see, that's why he was so lucky to find it there, it was just one, he couldn't find another near it, one of a kind.
He smirked and didn't waste time, he was so careful and made sure to get it including the roots. He was even holding his breath as he carefully dug his sword on the ground as if his life depended on it. He released a deep breath when he finally got it.
"Yes!" he successfully smiled while looking at the flower, "You better cooperate, you must live as I take care of you, we will make someone special feel the happiness that she deserves," he said as if talking to one who can understand his word.
The next thing he did was to look for something where he could put the flower.
Where can I even get a pot to plant this? He forgot to think about that. Now it is his problem.
He looked around but found nothing but wild grasses, various big trees, and wildflowers. He sighed and decided to continue walking around hoping that he would see something he can use for the pot, but he just found himself going back to the village seeing nothing.
He creased his forehead and stopped walking towards their pact's village.
Anyone that will see me holding this flower will surely wonder why and I cannot tell them that this is for a woman.
He sighed and looked for a place where he could temporarily put the beautiful flower as he went back to their village and looked for a pot.
He was at their house and looked for something he could use when he found his friend, Xerxes.
"What are you searching for, Dude?" Xerxes asked.
He scratches his head and looks at his nosy friend, "Dude, do you have something that I can use to put a plant in it?" he asked.
His friend looked at him strangely then suddenly stopped himself from laughing, "Dude, are you going to become a plant parent now?" his friends started to laugh, "Well, it'll contrast your personality."
He looked at his friend flatly, "You know what, Xerxes? Die!"
He took the knife he found in their kitchen and went out of the house and decided to leave their village.
"Dude! Wait! Where are you going?!"
He didn't mind his friend, he looked for something he could use for the flower. He found a good branch of a tree so he climbed up and cut the branch with his sword before he went down and cut the branch into the size he wanted.
"Dude, what are you doing?" Xerxes asked when he found him cleaning the wood. "Wow, you cut that alone?"
He didn't answer his nosy friend, instead, he started his plan for the wood he was holding. He used force to dig on the wood and make a large and deep hole in it. The wood was just as long as a hand, it was cylindrical.
"Dude? Are you going to make a little bucket out of it?"
He just ignored his friend and continued doing his work and also getting very careful not to hurt himself, especially that the knife he was using was sharp.
It took a lot of time, he started doing that while the sun was still in the sky and finished it almost dark.
His foolish friend was sleeping there and got bored watching him. Now the wood finally looks like a pot though it was not that beautiful because it was his first time making one but at least, it'll do.
He immediately put some good soil in it and went to where he hid the flower. It was already glowing beautifully, so he carefully put it into his handmade wooden pot and looked for some water. He even went to the spring outside the forest and took water using his palm and put it on the pot before he went back to the forest with the beautiful flower.
He needed to hide it before anyone could see it but he was too late, his friend, Xerxes, saw it.
"Wow!" Xerxes gasped and stared at the flower, "Is this the Lunflora?"
He furrowed his brows and he shrugged.
"Dude, this is very beautiful, do you know that this is the most special flower a werewolf could give to someone?" Xerxes said in total amusement didn't even remove his gaze from the flower, "Can I have this? I'll give this to Sumeria!"
Amaru hit his friend's head and glared, "Are you damn serious?! Really? I spent half of my day on this and you'll just ask this to be yours?"
"Dude, come on! I need to impress Sumeria!"
"No, Xerxes! I'll give this to Ashera tomorrow."
"What?! You already gave her a flower right?! You can just give that to her without planting it, you can save your time with that."
Amaru looked at Xerxes flatly, "All of her suitors gave her picked flowers, no one ever has given her planted flowers, and I'll be the one to give her that," he proudly said.
"What?!" his friend couldn't believe what he just said, "I never heard of a suitor giving a woman an alive flower, Dude!" His friend laughed at him but he ignored it.
"I'll be the first to do that," he said and looked for a place where he could hide the flower. So this is Lunflora, huh? The most special flower any werewolf could give. Special… just like Ashera. I must give this to her at night so she will appreciate the beauty of this more.
"Don't you ever try to steal my flower, Xerxes, or else I'll kill you," he seriously threatened the pact warrior.
"Seriously? You'll kill a friend for a flower?"
"It's not just a flower!" he yelled, "It's a special flower!"
"Dude, you're unbelievable!" his friend said and laughed, "I never imagined you would become like this even once."
Amaru just ignored his friend and looked at the moon, making sure that tomorrow is not a full moon.
"Let's go, Xerxes!" he told his friend, "Tomorrow will be a very good day," he said, getting excited, he will not just see Ashera, he also has something for her that will surely make that beautiful mortal maiden happy.
When they got into the village, he was surprised to see his brother outside their house with his werewolves companion.
"Where have you been?" his brother asked in his most irritated tone.
"Somewhere else, why?!"
"You have wasted my time making me wait for you!" his brother's voice thundered, "Ready the pact warriors, we have a pact village to conquer!"
He gulped and nodded hearing that from his brother.
"It's not a full moon, why are we going to war?" Xerxes asked which earned a death glare from the Alpha, Xerxes hid at the back of Amaru.
"If we go there during the full moon, there is a great possibility that we will lose the battle," Remus said, "I already thought about this, do what I told you to do, Amaru."
"Yes, Remus," Amaru said and sighed when he found he saw his brother leaving.
He turned to Xerxes, "Call the pact warriors, Xerxes, tell them to prepare for war!"
"Yes, Gamma."
Amaru went to their house and immediately put on his armored outfit, it was a gift from his father that's why it's very important for him.
"I heard that you'll leave for war?" his mother said when she saw him. Worry was very visible in her eyes, he got used to it, she even cries whenever he leaves for war. His mother may be very strict, but he knows that she loves him so dearly.
He sighed and looked at his mother, he put on his sword on his side before he walked towards her.
"I need to be there, Mother. It is my duty, I need to make sure of our victory and safety of the Alpha."
"Please be home," his mother pleaded, "Please take care of yourself, Amaru. As much as possible, don't let me see wounds in any part of your body, My Son."
Amaru can never promise his safety during the war, even the greatest warrior dies in war, there is a great possibility in every war that he might not be able to go home.
"I don't know how long the war will take, Mother, but in case our village will be invaded while we are away, I beg you to run and hide for your safety, I will look for you," he said and kissed his mother's forehead. They hugged each other. He was fearless of death in any war, his late father told him that fear will be the greatest enemy that any warrior will have. That's why he mastered not feeling that kind of emotion, but every time he sees his mother, he always strives to survive no matter how hard it is to win the war.
He is afraid to die whenever he sees his mother because he knows that no one will ever protect her once he dies. Then the image of Ashera came across his mind as well.
I need to live and return here tomorrow, or else, there will be no one to protect Ashera as she visits this forest.
