Chapter 4 Run

1013 Words
"Little Aneira Michaels" a man said as he stood in front of her cell. "When we're done with you, both your life and death would have meant something" the man told her. She glared at him. "The day you die I swear that you'll feel every second of it" she told him. His face grew dark. "What a violent little girl you are. Aneira's eyes glowed a bright red for a second. "I'm a Michaels for a reason," she told him. Anger filled his face before he stormed away. It had been 2 days since Aneira was taken, and in that short time she had been beaten, tied down, and had blood taken from her. The only thing that kept her sane was the hope of escape. Along with the fact she was a 17 year old in her 5 year old self's body. She laid in the cold cell unsure of what to do. She was exhausted and even if she froze time for a short period it wasn't like she had any real way to escape. "106" she heard her number called. She didn't move, and instead closed her eyes. Maybe if she played dead they'd throw her out and allow her to escape. "106!" A man yelled as he kicked her, but she stayed unmoving. "Just drag her" said another man, "freeze" , Aneira said, and time froze. *run* a voice echoed in her head. Her eyes shot open, as she quickly stood up. *run and don't stop* the voice in her head said again. And so she did. This was her chance. Down the long hallway with cells full of children all of them frozen in time. But then someone grabbed her arm. Once again her eyes shot open. It was all in her head. Was she so desperate to escape she was beginning to hallucinate? She wondered. This time she was tied to the table. A bright light shined above her. "LET ME GO," Aneira yelled, struggling. The same thing as before happened again. She was cut, blood was taken from her and a substance injected into her. Then they threw her back into her cell. How much more could she take. "Freeze" she said quietly. The loud screams of the children in the other cells came to a halt as time froze. Aneira crawled over to the bars and grabbed onto them. If only there was some way to escape. She thought to herself. If only.... wait. She thought as an idea popped into her head. Her power wasn't just to freeze time. It was to manipulate it. She learned that when she accidentally traveled back to the past. So what if she could speed up time? She thought. Just for the bars. Her hands gripped tighter onto the bars as she closed her eyes. "Forward" she said as she concentrated directly on the bars she held onto "forward" she said again. She was unsure of how many tries this would take, but she wouldn't give up. Not until she escaped. "Forward" she said again as the texture of the bars changed, and became rusty. It was working. "Forward" she said again, as the bars became a rusty dust. She opened her eyes amazed. It had actually worked. And this was her chance. She didn't hesitate to slip out of the bars and run. She ran as fast as she could, she didn't care how injured or hurt she was she wouldn't stop. By the time she made it through the maze of a building she could feel time unfreeze. She ran across the street into the woods. "Find that girl" she heard someone yell. They already knew she was gone. But she didn't stop as she continued to run. She didn't stop even when there was an explosion behind her, lighting the woods around her on fire. She continued to run as tears filled her eyes. She was so close to freedom she couldn't stop. Then she tripped. Her head hit the ground hard and the world around her became dizzy as the flames got closer to her. But even now she couldn't stop. "There you are," a man said, grabbing her arm. "You've caused far too much trouble" said the man as he lifted her into the air. No she couldn't go back. She thought. She began flailing around as best she could, eventually kicking him in the face causing her to throw her hard to the ground. "You b***h" he said as he felt his bleeding nose. Aneira knew she needed to run, but she couldn't. Her vision was to blurry and her head to dizzy. A man suddenly appeared from behind the man who attacked her. He didn't hesitate to grab the man's head and snap it. Even when the man walked over and knelt down to her she couldn't move. He seemed so familiar, but with her blurry vision she could barely see his face. He gently picked her up and carried her in his arms away from the fire. He didn't say a word, even as Aneira's eyes began to close. Now she could only hear muffled voices around her. "She's here, we found her" she heard someone yell. "Aneira" that voice sounded the most familiar, but who could it be she couldn't place it. "Aneira, can you hear me?" the familiar female voice said. Aneira just groaned in pain. She was so tired. So hurt. She prayed that she wouldn't be taken back to that awful place. But she also didn't have the strength to fight anyone anymore. She didn't even have the strength to open her eyes. "It's ok any" the sweet, Reassuring voice said. "You're safe now I promise" it said. "Hurry to the hospital" the female voice said, as noise began to fade from her mind. "Mommy" Aneira said quietly, her eyes still closed. "It's ok baby" Raina said as she caressed Aneira's cheek lightly. "I'm right here my sweet little girl" she told her as she continued to hold her in her arms TO BE CONTINUED
