We walked in an awkward silence until he spoke. “I hope you like my present,” he asked, and I nodded with a grateful smile. “Yes, but I think it's too expensive…” Jack chuckled and shook his head. “You are something else, Bella. That gift was just a simple gesture.”
I glanced at him with dumbfounded eyes, wondering how he could say such a huge and expensive gift was a simple gesture. “I'm just glad that you like it,” he smiled at me, and I smiled back at him.
“So, tell me, how was the Snow Moon Pack? I heard your mom was married to their alpha. How are their traditions? Is it like ours?”
