Alpha Darwin’s POV
Bella’s eyes dilated with shock as she stared at me, then back to Naomi, who wore a victorious smirk. “You heard him right, you are late, so run along,” Naomi shooed her. Bella looked back at me, her eyes clouded with tears, sending a wave of pain washing over me while my wolf howled loudly in my head, urging me to go to her. But I held myself back. Despite how much I wanted her, despite how alluring her scent was, I would not touch her. This was a punishment, and I was just getting started.
“Darwin…please…” her voice trembled. I swallowed hard before turning my back to her so she wouldn’t see how her condition was affecting me.
