Bella's POV
I was confused when I saw nurses and doctors rushing into Darin's room. Fear gripped me, and I tried to enter the room, but the guards stopped me. Just then, Alpha Darwin and Beta Mark arrived, and both rushed into the room.
“Please let me in!” I cried, but the guards positioned themselves in front of the door. The howling of my wolf indicated something was wrong, and the thought of it scared me. My legs couldn’t hold my body anymore, and I found myself collapsing on the floor. Tears fell uncontrollably down my cheeks as I stared at the door while fear of the unknown hit me.
For minutes, I remained in that position, glancing at the door, but no one came out, and I couldn’t hear a word from the room. “Please let me in; I’m his mate, for goodness' sake!” I yelled at the guard,
