4*The Alpha King Is The Devil Of My Life*

Ravine's POV: The night arrived quickly. The dinner was in one of my farmhouses. Which is why I was even bothered when Vania didn’t want me to come. She was using my credit card, my pack’s name and even my property to hold dinners, but had a problem with inviting me. I had dressed up in a red gown as I was a newly wedded woman and mate of Dominique Dagger, who was rocking a royal blue suit. His perfectly blond hair and blue eyes shone bright in the color he tried on. For me, my black hair was styled into big curls and I designed my green eyes with heavy eye makeup. “I’m ready.” the instant I walked out of the room, I heard Vania whispering something into her mother’s ears. She had worn a white gown with her hair straightened and left open on her back. It wasn’t even the way she was looking at me, but her arrogance, when she rolled her eyes, stuck with me. “If everybody is ready, we shall head to the farmhouse,” Dom suggested, before he took a step ahead of us to lead the way. I wasn’t overly expecting anything from him, but a little commendation to my outfit would have been treasured by me. A part of me was invariably trying to figure out why he had turned so frigid to my feelings these days? The car ride was so silent that even when I felt itchy in my throat, I didn’t cough out of the fear of being too loud. We arrived at the farmhouse and Dom gestured me to stay behind to have a minute alone with him whilst his sister and mother walked into the farmhouse. The Alpha King and his peers had already arrived. I saw the cars parked in the parking lot. “You wanted to talk about something?” I investigated while looking outside the window. Ever since I’ve returned to the past, I haven’t myself. “What is going on with you? You have never acted this way with anyone, but suddenly, you are arguing. The plans are being changed. You don’t remember your promises from before our mating ceremony,” Dom questioned, while not averting his eyes from me. I didn’t have an answer to his queries. I was not supposed to tell him anything. He might think I’m insane. And if the word gets out, everybody who ever planned to kill me will get alerted and will change their plans. “Why don’t you tell me what happened to you? What I can think of is that your behavior changed the instant I told you Gina can’t stay in our pack. After that, you seemed not to even remember that we were newlyweds. You ignored my entire existence.” I told him all I had in my heart, minus the truth about my rebirth. He sat hushed for a moment before his hand reached mine and he clutched them together rigidly. “It wasn’t that you didn’t let Gina stay. I can understand why you would not want her around. I was distant because I felt something was different about you. I felt like maybe you were regretting the decision of marrying me.” since we were both opening up to each other, he too told me all he had in his heart this entire time. “Then I believe we both were worrying over nothing,” I added without any enthusiasm. I fathomed it was better we don’t rush into things. There were still shadowed menaces that needed to be brought to light before I stepped into a happy married life with my mate. “Yeah, I believe so,” he too agreed faintly. After it seemed like our conversation took a turn to silence, he cleared his throat to propose, “we should head inside now. The Alpha King and the other guests will be waiting for us.” I nodded even when he had walked out of the car before me. He rushed to my side to open the door for me and together we entered the farmhouse. Just a few steps in, and I was already confounded by the sight. Vania had prepared a whole fancy evening for the arrival of the Alpha King Elijah O’Dell. It was understandable that she wanted to welcome her friend into the pack with a social dinner for him and his pack, but it wasn’t even her farmhouse. She used my farmhouse and didn’t even inform me. We were first attended by the old counselors, who started wishing joy on our marriage and congratulated Dom for taking over as the Alpha of my pack. I was quietly standing by the side because these same counselors used to give me such a hard time and pressurized me into finding an Alpha as a mate or they would steal the pack from me and give it to someone else. As everybody was absorbed in a joyous conversation, we waited for the arrival of the Alpha King, who was in the guest room. Looking around just to pass a glance at the guests, my eyes landed on a rather undesirable face. “Gina Geller?” I frowned at her speaking to the guests, wearing a short golden dress. It was a dinner between our pack and the Alpha King’s pack. Why was she here? She was from none of our packs. But the fact that they kept her presence a secret from me perplexed my mind. My body felt cold when looking around and trying to spot anyone who I could ask what she was doing there?. “What happened, babe?” Dom’s hand on my shoulder jolted me into consciousness and I turned around to watch Dom in the eye. “What is she doing here?” I asked him candidly, not disguising the shock in my tone. He first grimaced and then followed my stare to spot Gina in the crowd. Even Vania had joined her now. They were laughing and blabbing in their ears. “She is Vania’s friend. Vania invites her everywhere.” his excuse couldn’t convince me. “While she was reluctant to let me know about the dinner?” I had been silent to all of them in my previous life but nothing good came out of it. Vania was physically and verbally abusive to me. They all tormented me whilst Dom regarded their lies and didn’t want to bring justice to me. I was bitter now! Seeing her again at the party in my farmhouse made me realize it wouldn’t be that easy to get rid of her. “Because she knows you two don’t get along well,” Dom whispered. “Let’s not fixate on her right now. The Alpha King is here,” he then added, and pulled away from me to greet Elijah. I took a deep breath and turned around to welcome the green-eyed monster. My heart skipped a beat when the first thing I discerned about him was his emerald green eyes.
