Chapter 26 “Anne, you have a visitor. Feeling up to that?” Anne didn’t even turn away from the window. She didn’t have to. The deafening static inside her mind had been getting quieter all day long. She had to take this chance while she had it. “Yes.” She heard the low murmur of voices, and before the door closed she caught some of the words for a change. The nurse was saying Anne had been having a lot of trouble communicating and to be prepared for that. She said the one or two word answers were good signs over the last few days.
