After six glasses of wine, I made the wise decision to stop drinking for the night. Little did I know, the alcohol from the last glass was about to hit me, hard. I was leaning against the wall as I was blabbering to Jennie while she listened to me with her eyes wide. I needed to focus hard, to not burst out to her, about all the things my coven wanted me to do there. So I just blabbered on about my failed childhood. Having a monster for a mother and a dad, that had left me the first chance he got. Little did I know, the run-away dad was also a part of Jennie’s life. And according to her, her mother was not a real monster, but the alcohol she put into her body every day sure made her turn into one. At that point, Jennie had no contact with any of her family and she was fine with it. I couldn’t imagine what that would feel like. Although the word ‘freedom’ popped into my mind immediately. I waved away that thought, blaming it on the alcohol.
I saw Noah strolling towards me, swinging from side to side. I could see he had also drunk way too much, and now we both looked like a bunch of drunk teenagers. I started laughing hard as I saw him, putting my hands on my knees as I tried to keep standing on my feet. Noah just grinned from ear to ear as he kept walking towards me.
“What are you laughing about?” He smiled at me as he crooked his eyebrows in wonder.
“You are so drunk.” I giggled as I pointed at him, receiving an even bigger grin in return.
“It helps to take away the nerves.” He shrugged, which made me sober for about five seconds after he said that.
Was he feeling as nervous as I was?
“Madame,” Noah began as he reached out to me, giving me his elbow.
“Would you like to join me for a midnight stroll?” I giggled again, as I leaned against his arm, not denying the new load of electricity that went through me, once our bodies had touched. We both zigzagged towards the door, stepping out as Jennie screamed.
“ Be safe!” behind us.
It took all of our effort to get out of the house while we were still standing on our feet. Once outside, the feeling of the fresh air on our faces did wonders. I looked around, taking in everything I was seeing. I loved being outdoors, it was my nature. But I have to say, standing here at night, this was one of the most beautiful places I have ever been to. Once you looked past the cars, there was a huge field which was decorated with string lights, making it look cozy and even magical, as if the lights were fireflies staying in their place while they were watching us. We walked past a group of party people, into the field, secluding us from everyone else. I couldn’t help but stare at the man besides me. Maybe he was even more handsome than this place I was in right now, deciding that he absolutely was.
He noticed me staring at him and pierced through my eyes with his pretty brown ones, which put a smile on my face immediately.
“Am I really that funny?” He grinned at me. I shook my head as I started giggling.
“No, I’m just happy.” I looked away from him, knowing this was absolutely true. This was the happiest I had felt in a very long time.
But why?
How could it be?
I didn’t know him, nor anyone else in this place.
I didn’t know anything about this community,
For all I knew, they could have been the mafia and I wouldn’t have known about it.
He smiled at me, sincerely.
“I’m happy you’re happy.” He nodded at me, we stared at each other, as the silence between us would become awkward. The level of alcohol in our blood wasn’t helping in this situation either. I pushed him away playfully, as I started to run away from him. He laughed hard as he ran after me, both fooling around as if we were little kids.
Goddess I love to act this goofy with him!
And I love that he wants to act goofy with me!
Within five seconds, he had already caught me, surprising me as his arms came around me. Making me forget how to use my legs, since my brain was too busy with his hands being on my body. That, combined with his impact of hitting me, made us both fall straight onto the grass, making me yelp as we fell down.
For a minute, we laid next to each other on the grass, looking at each other with big eyes, as our brains were still processing what had just happened. The next minute, I started laughing beyond my control, holding on to my stomach and rolling around.
I seriously can’t remember when I ever had this much fun!
The harder I tried to stop, the harder it was to actually do it. My cheeks and stomach started to hurt from all the laughing, as tears rolled over my face in laughter. After a few minutes, I finally pulled myself together as I looked to my left, where Noah was still lying. He was lying on his side as he was watching me, almost studying me. Maybe he was trying to carve in every inch of my face in his brain? It sure looked like it. I laid my head on my arm as I rolled on my side, to take in all of this man lying beside me in the grass. I sighed deeply.
“I’m sorry.” I apologized to him. I know that if I had done this in my coven, it would have been a big no no! There was no place for laughter there. Noah looked at me as if I was speaking another language.
“Why are you apologizing? We’re just having fun.” I didn’t know how to answer this, so I just shrugged as I looked back up to him as I wetted my lips with my tongue,
That wine does the trick but it sure gives a dry mouth!
Noah stared at my mouth while I did that. When he looked back up at me, his eyes were dark as night. Maybe it was the night that made his eye color change a bit? I had never heard of it before, so the reason for it was not known to me.
“Goddess, you are so beautiful!” He whispered as he looked back up at me.
Ok...showtime.
My fingers slowly made it up to his denim shirt as I slowly took ahold of his collar. I swear, I could feel his heartbeat there, pounding like a maniac.
His heart is beating so fast for me,
Do I make him feel like that?
and I slowly pulled at it, pulling him closer, and making him come to me, as our lips finally locked.
