I have never felt anything like this.  Such a searing, destructive pain. It boils inside of me, threatening to spill over, consume me.  The shock and adrenaline had worn off. I had managed to shoot the wolf in the chest just as it had side swiped me with its talons. It had retreated into the woods and Leon had stayed, to my dismay of course.  I'm breathing hard.
