Chapter 6 Tim came awake as the dawn’s gentle light leaked into the east-facing bedroom. Through the window he could see coral pink streaks of clouds, lit by the approaching sun. For a moment, he lay still, transfixed by the beauty. He started to nudge DeVore, wake him and urge him to capture the delicate shapes and hues with a camera, but then he remembered. He wanted to go back to sleep, even to go back in time to the day before their meeting and make sure he never set foot in the hotel or at the exhibit.
