Chapter Eight
Logan’s POV
> >>
My parents would be greatly disappointed to know that I had missed this for years. My parents were greatly disappointed to know that there's another wolf in this city. Every single time that they ever sensed a wolf, that they ever told me they smelled someone.
We had to move, and we had managed to stay in this town long enough for me to actually get used to it, long enough for me to actually make a name for myself. And I was not going to let them ruin that. I had to discover who Annabelle was. I had to know her family was and what they were doing here before it was too late. I had to know if they were from my pack, if they were sent here to do something about us finally. I mean, we had gotten away with this for long enough.
It was a surprise that we had actually managed to go unpunished for this long and I could not let anything happen to my family, not when they had taught me to be as vigilant as they had taught me to be. I had to find out everything I could about her and make sure that she's not a threat to them.
“Well, when am I going to see you again then?” Laura asked me, the wide smile on her face still there and I just shrugged my shoulders.
“I'll be busy tomorrow, but I'll call you.” I say to her. Sometimes I wonder why she stays with me when I'm this rude to her.
“Okay then, well are you going to Take Me Home?” She asks and actually the answer would have been no, would have been an immediate no. But since I will definitely be closer to Annabelle's house when I agree to this, then I definitely choose an answer that will best suit my interests.
“ Fine, I will take you home, come on, go to the car. “ I say to her and she gives me pouty lips. I have known her long enough to know exactly what that look means. It is one of her many tricks that she uses to get me to stick around, she is seducing me.
The offer is clearly on the table, and rarely do I say no. I get what I can get from it and unlike her, I know how to keep my emotions out of the equation.
“Are you sure I have to leave so quickly? Your parents are not even here yet!” She whispers into my ear and the bugle in my pants grows immediately.
“ I am sure you have to leave, Laura, but something tells me you will not let me kick you out nicely.” I hold her wai at and lay her flat on the bed before climbing on top of her.
“I guess I will just have to do it the hard way.” I add, making her give me her lecherous smile that she mastered. She knows how much it pleases me to see her begging for me like this.
“You are right about that, Logan, I am not letting you walk out of this one or kick me out. Just thirty more minutes and you can kick me out.” Her hands pull me close to her lips as she firmly holds the back of my neck.
Her lips are wet and waiting and I am certain that does not just go for the lips on her face.
As I plant a kiss on her lips, I slide my hand in between her thighs and get the confirmation that I was looking for.
“Always wet and ready, huh?” I ask her in between kisses and suddenly, that scent of her arousal that I am usually able to pick up because of my heightened senses is no longer as pleasing as it usually is.
The second I pull back to look at her, all I see is Elaine’s face and as hard as I try to get her out of my mind, I feel myself repelling Laura and thinking more about her.
This could not be happening. She can not walk into my life for two seconds and screw me up like that.
“f**k it! You are going home! Take your jacket so I can take you home.” I say to her and she looks astonished.
“Laura I mean it, you should go home.” I remove her hand from my chest where she was constantly caressing the best skin on and I immediately cover up with my shirt. “Wow I thought we were having fun but maybe another night.”
She says before getting up and heading on to my car. It feels like forever with her just talking in the car until I finally drop her off. She placed the kiss on my lips, which I barely returned just thinking about the last lips that were on mine before hers were Annabelle's had gone years without noticing her that I was thinking about. I had probably seen her a few times, but I had not paid much attention to her and I hated all the thoughts that I was getting about her right now.
Why was she stuck in my mind? I needed to find out who she was so that I know that she's not a threat to me anymore and I can get her out of my head, and most importantly, so I can make sure that her and her family leave this town. If there were going to be wolves in this town, it had to be me and my family and nobody else, otherwise anybody else was just threatening our safety. My parents would definitely be super mad to know that I knew about the existence of other wolves within our city, and I did not say anything about it to them. And so I do exactly what I need to do.
And a break into her house. It's the only way to get this done. I needed to find as much information as I can. I'd overheard her talking to Stephanie when I was observing her, saying that her parents would only be returning to the house tomorrow. And this was my chance. It was my chance to find out as much as I can about them, where they're from. So I know that they have no relation to my pet and they're not here to actually make sure that they pay for the crimes that my parents committed years ago.
