Training

1060 Words
I woke the next day early, too wired to sleep for too long. Maribel had set training time for mid morning, which meant that from the time I woke up, I had about four hours to kill. I rolled out of bed, stretched, and threw on a pair of training clothes. We had bought new punching dummies for the new dome. Figured what better way to start the day, then a little bit of fighting practice, than maybe a run. As I walked out of the house, I use the opportunity to stretch my legs, arms, and waking my body up. Warming my muscles up, preparing for my run. Normally I do about a 5 mile run, today I figured if I was going to do some sparing matches I needed to do about a mile and a half to two. I could smell the morning dew on the grass as I took off, feeling the morning crisp air hit my face. I always loved running in the morning it was peaceful, nobody was out, and it always felt the best. While I ran, I decided to stop by the fields and see how the crops were growing. Keeping a big pack fed was probably the hardest part. I took a survey of the land as I ran past, and took a mental note to remind some of the Omega‘s that the tomato plants need to be a little bit more love. It didn’t seem too long until my run was done, and I was back at the Main gym. I made sure to stretch out my muscles again after I finished running, before I put on some gloves and started in on the dummies. It might sound weird, but the feeling of swinging your body around and making contact was almost relaxing. All of my stress and worries vanished once I started in the zone. It was my favorite place to be. I had been lost in a trance of cuts in upper cuts and combos until my alarm to wake up went off. Beginning to slow my breathing I remove my gloves and started heading back to my house. I definitely needed a shower before I headed anywhere . Although Maribel was only training me to use my magic, smelling nice was probably a requirement. I showered quickly, threw on a new pair of clothes and out the door I went. According to dots assessment, the dome was a hike from the complex, but still doable. So I decided to determine how much of a hike it truly was. Roughly about 30 minutes Into the walk I began to see the domes small top up in the distance. Dot had been right, it was a hike. As I approach closer, the dome began to look phenomenal. Its all glass structure twinkled in the rising sunlight and the dark green of the trees that obscured it from the world were gorgeous. I smiled at Maribel as I came closer. I am all yours teacher. Where do we begin? I figured we would start first with a small cloaking spell. We can practice it on the dome, allowing us a little bit more privacy once we get inside. I noted as she began to give me instructions, I could feel almost like a warmth in my gut, spreading through my core as she instructed me. That warmth spread more as I began to chant with her, following her words and actions. Unbelievably, in front of my eyes this giant glass structure disappeared. It fascinated me that the air was almost crackling with electricity. I could feel the magic flowing between me and her and the dome. It was exhilarating, and I couldn’t wait to learn more. Maribel explained as we entered the dome, that she would take each of the elements one at a time and help me strengthen my bond with them. Magic was a bond, an understanding almost between two objects. She explained that, without nurturing a bond, it breaks. She explained that from devs story, that water, fire, and earth were extremely connected to me already. So she figured it was best to start with one of them. She decided earth would be the best idea, because fire was dangerous and tricky. Water was soothing, and since I had cooled my fever, she figured it wouldn’t take long for me to catch onto water. Today’s lesson, was simple, connect with Earth. She began with a simple meditation time. Asking me to put myself in my favorite place around focusing only on the earth elements. I picked my training ground, the open field. I could see it, the little small wildflowers popping up from here in there , walking into the forest line. Smelling the pinecones, it was the best after it rained. I could almost feel the tickle of the grass on my arms as I imagine laying down in my favorite patch of lavender just inside the tree line. My train of thought was interrupted by the small gasp that escaped Maribel. Opening my eyes, I stared at her with her jaw open. It was like I was there with you. I’ve never seen that field, but it was such a strong connection I could smell the lavender. Is that unusual? After a short nod, she decided she wanted to try something. She turned away and walked a short distance, grab something and came back. She sat a small pot of dirt in front of me. Explaining that she had planted lavender in the soil. She wanted me to hold the pot, and ask the plant to grow. Seeming quite silly I laughed at her for a second, but the seriousness in your eyes made me grab the sides of the plant. Unsure how to truly connect with a plant, I went back to my field. I pictured the way the lavender plant looks fully grown. I picture the beautiful purple the petal are in the sunlight. And how beautiful they glisten when they left over raindrops fall down the petals to the ground. Assuming, I had failed I opened my eyes. To my complete shock, there stood a beautiful lavender flower in bloom. Looking at Maribel, she was beaming, which I could only assume means I was on a long journey of lesson.
