Once they cleaned themselves up the best that they could (using Jakes spare shirt from his bag), they made their way to the picnic table where their coffees were still waiting.
Sitting across from each other, Jake cracked a huge smile. “Good morning,” he said, taking a sip of his coffee, smirking as he licked the coffee from his perfect lips.
“Good morning,” Amanda replied sweetly, her eyes intensely fixed on his. She took a sip of her own coffee, moaning at the taste, causing him a low growl. She giggled and he shook his head in warning.
“I don’t think you quite understand what your moans do to me,” he told her.
Amanda shrugged but gave him a wink, which made him shake his head and laugh.
“I don’t know what any of this means,” she began slowly. She looked down at her coffee cup, playing with the tab on the lid. “My situation is - complicated,” she told him, looking up into his piercing blue eyes. The ocean.
“I can wait for you,” he told her, reaching for her hand and slowly rubbing it with his thumb. More electricity. “I will wait for you,” he corrected himself.
Amanda sighed. “I can’t ask you to do that,” she whispered, tucking her hair behind her one ear.
He sighed. “I don’t have a choice. My wolf Demetrius is obsessed with you,” he grinned.
Amanda smiled in understanding, while missing her wolf Xena. She was currently dormant, as a result of the pendent around her neck. She nodded feeling a pang of guilt inside of her. “I get it.” She whispered.
Jake ran a hand through his hair and sighed. “Let’s just get to know each other,” he suggested. “Then we can date or whatever this is…” he gestured to the space between them. “I know you can feel it too,” he whispered.
Amanda nodded. Knowing he was right. There was no way that she would’ve done what she had just done, if he wasn’t her mate. The way he kissed her felt natural yet exciting. She was comfortable in his arms. And those little shocks. It was more than static. But her pendent. She knew it worked. It was seen as a curse in her family for so many years. She didn’t understand why it wasn’t working for her.
“Let’s focus on getting to know each other. I just can’t f**k up my studies,” she told him. She pulled her phone out of her bag. “s**t! I have to be in class in 10 minute!” She exclaimed, she rose to her feet, hoisting her bag on her shoulder.
“I’m sorry,” he told her. Then smirked. “Actually - I’m not sorry, that was the best way to start the day,” he grinned at her.
Amanda laughed. She planted a gentle peck on his forehead. Little shocks of electricity sprinkled her lips. “See you later?” She asked. He nodded and smiled as she took off in the direction of the buildings.
As she entered the school, it took her a moment to find her bearings. Amanda was grateful that she was close to the auditorium where her class was and quickly walked down the hall, entering the auditorium.
Class hadn’t yet started, but Shawn was already there. He was setting up his equipment and paused to smile at her and stare intently into her eyes.
Amanda grinned, sliding into her seat near the front. Setting up her laptop she was ready in ample time. She quickly took out her phone
For a quick check. 4 messages. All Kyle.
“I’m sorry I was a d**k you were right. I was just tired it” the first message read.
“Ugh open the mind link. You know I hate these things”, this one made her giggle - Kyle hated technology.
“You’re being so stubborn. I assume you’re with him but it’s not my business. Just be careful,”
“I said I’m sorry, the least you can do is accept my apology,” the last one was a bit passive aggressive but she just shrugged her shoulders.
“Thank you for apologizing. Just don’t be a d**k later please and thank you,” she quickly texted back.
“What have you been getting yourself into?” The next message read.
“Coffee :) ,” she quickly responded.
“Just be careful ”
She quickly slid her phone into her bag as she felt Shawn staring at he intensely. She smiled at his serious brown eyes, that were sliding up and down her body, landing on her chest, before he gave an appreciative nod and turned to the rest of the class.
“Good morning,” he called out. “Now that everyone is ready,” he flashed Amanda another look. “We are going to be discussing the principles that guide social workers and the ethics that are set out for them to follow.”
The lecture flew by. Amanda struggled to pay attention. Her mind constantly wandering back to Jake from this morning. She couldn’t believe she had done that with him. That she had allowed herself to get so carried away, when they were in such close proximity to the school. When she agreed to meet him, she was thinking they might hug at most. She wasn’t a prude, and had been intimate with other male wolves before. But nothing had every carried her away like this. She had never c*m so quickly. So intensely. Sighing internally, she decided to blame that on the fact that she hadn’t been with anyone in awhile.
She listened to Shawn’s words, typing as he talked. Since she had grown closer with Jake, she wasn’t as sexually infatuated with her sexy professor. But she couldn’t help but notice him. And how his biceps moved when he talked. His brown hair was swept back in a ponytail and he wore a red golf shirt.
He called on her once to answer a question. Again calling her Princess. She made a note to tell him her name later and was able to answer his question clearly and concisely which in turn earned her a wink and a smile from Shawn, and hisses from a few other women in the class.
“Thanks for a great class Shawn,” she said when he came over to her as she was packing up her laptop at the end of class.
“I’m so glad you liked it, Princess,” he smiled at her, placing his hand on her arm.
She prickled at the sensation of his touch. It didn’t give her the electricity that Jake’s touch did, but it did send chills over her body. She carefully, took back her arm, to Shawn’s obvious dismay, sliding her textbook and laptop in her bag.
Amanda decided to use this moment as a chance to introduce herself properly. She assumed he had forgotten the first time.
“I’m actually Amanda,” she smiled sweetly at him, extended her hand for him to shake.
But instead, he took her hand, and brought it to his lips. Kissing it gently and breathing in her scent of the skin on her hand.
“Heavenly,” he murmured to himself, just loud enough for her to hear. She squirmed in discomfort as he wouldn’t let go of her hand. “I know who you are - Princess,” he said, his voice barely above a whisper.
Amanda pulled back her hand and stared at him. The look in his brown eyes was intense, and also slightly mischievous. She wasn’t sure how to read him.
“Have a nice weekend Shawn, see you Monday”, she smiled her professional Princess smile as she turned on her heel and headed out the door.
