Mary goes to grab the cake.
"BUT"
"Little miss you have to unpack."
I shove my last bite of cake in my mouth. "Fine."
"They gave you 2 bedrooms so you can use one as a closet. Those dresses take up a lot of room. You can unpack those now. Tre can help you." Tre tries to complain. Mary puts her hand up. "It will never get done Tre. Both of you go."
I pout the entire way to the second bedroom. "They put shelves and poles all over it. This is interesting."
"Alright let's get you unpacked." Tre moves a couple big containers to the middle of the room and opens them.
Mary pokes her head in. "Use the thick wire hangers for the ball gowns. Those things are heavy."
"I know. I'm the one who has to wear them."
"Little miss."
"FINE."
She rolls her eyes and leaves.
"Wow, these are heavy."
"I know. That's why I'm always so happy to wear anything else."
He smirks and his eyes start getting dark.
"I don't know what you are thinking about me wearing, sir. But I don't think it's appropriate." I point to his eyes.
He rubs them. "Sorry."
I laugh and get closer to him. Then I whisper, "What was I wearing?"
He wraps his arm around my waist and pulls me in close. "Not a damn thing princess." He gives me another kiss. This one a bit rougher and faster.
"YOU TWO KNOCK IT OFF. I MEAN IT. UNPACK."
"Oh fine."
"We should be able to take a break, Mary."
"You haven't even done one box. And don't try to order me. You can't Tre. This still all needs unpacked."
"Oh fine." Now he says it.
I laugh and give him another kiss.
"UNPACK OR I WILL START SEEING STUFF AND REPORTING TO YOUR FATHER."
"Let's unpack Tre."
"Yea that's such a good idea princess."
We all start laughing.
About an hour later I hear Mary open the door.
Dipak yells, "Where you guys at?"
"Bedroom." I say it without thinking. That man about takes out a wall to get to us.
He stares at us unpacking dresses.
"Mary is making us unpack."
She yells from the sitting room, "DIPAK CAN HELP TOO."
Tre nods. "Just do it. Don't ask."
He picks up a ball gown. "Damn this is heavy."
I shake my head.
"How do I have so much stuff. I thought I just owned what was on my bedroom table. This is dumb. MARY CAN WE TAKE A BREAK YET?"
"NO."
"ughhhh."
"Why are we taking orders from a servant?" Dipak asks.
"We're being extorted."
"How?"
"Do you realize how much she knows? Everything. I tell her everything. Now unpack until she gives us a break."
Both the boys bust out laughing. "Yea, it's only some clothes, this isn't bad I guess." Dipak laughs out.
"Where you at my princess?"
"BEDROOM." Damn I got to stop saying that.
Daddy does take out a wall. I can hear Mary bust out laughing. "Daddy why do you keep breaking my stuff today?"
"Sorry princess. I will send the workers back. I didn't realize you were all unpacking back here." He looks at us all for a couple of seconds. "Sorry... the dining room is done. We will all be there tonight. And why are you all doing this while the servant reads in the sitting room?"
We all stare at each other.
Finally Tre comes up with something. "She is just taking a break. She was feeling weak sir."
"Ah ok."
I storm out into the hallway after I hear the door shut. "REALLY READING?"
"WHEN YOU ALL ARE DONE WITH THE DRESSES YOU CAN START ON THE VEILS."
"I got to stop telling her anything."
"I have eyes too princess."
"Damn. We're going to be here forever guys."
She comes back to the room after half an hour and grabs a ball gown. "Let's get you ready. Dinner is in half hour. You 2 can keep unpacking."
They both laugh.
Dipak smirks. "Yea ma'am."
She laughs as she takes me across the hall.
I come back out all done up as a princess. Both boys stare at me with their mouths open. Tre swallows really hard.
"Mary I can't breath right. This is to tight on my boobs. Fix it." I start trying to adjust it.
"Stop that. Here. That better?"
"Yea thank you."
She grabs a matching veil. "You 2 time to go eat. Tre you are going to have to get her chair. I doubt if she can even get close enough in that dress."
"Ok."
"He always does Mary."
"Yea but today is not a day for him to forget. The veils are all mixed up and this one is quite thick. You're not going to see well either."
"Great." I say as sarcastic as I can.
"Well it has to match."
"I know."
"Dipak get the door please." He opens the door and Mary throws the veil over my head.
Mary pins down the veil as we walk. "Here." I stop. They stop behind me. She pins the veil down in the front and starts poofing out the dress. "Your chest still fine?"
"Yes it's ok."
"Ok don't go passing out on me in there. I'll be behind you and to your left."
"Thank you Mary."
"My pleasure little miss."
"Tre go in now and get to her chair. Dipak will hand her to you."
"Dipak take her arm. Remember she doesn't see well."
I feel him come up to the left of me and guide my arm into his.
"Let him guide you princess." She fixes something on the waist of the front of the dress and wipes off one of my hips. "Ok Go."
I feel Dipak guiding me and I let him. Then I feel Tre take my arm and put me in the seat. He gets me all sorted. He is so good about that.
"Well that was quite the entrance my princess." Daddy must have found that interesting.
"Sorry daddy. My veils are all mixed up still. I can't see."
"Guards out!" He waits a few seconds. "Well I don't think you need it in here anyway, princess. You can take it off."
"What?" I feel Mary pulling the pins out. She doesn't take the veil off though.
"In this room. With these people. I think it will be fine. But only these people, princesses and only for dinners."
I can feel the tears on my face. I lean into Tre and whisper, "Was that my dad?" Everyone chuckles a little bit. I guess I'm not good at whispering. Or maybe it was a yell. I really don't know.
He pulls the veil over my head. I feel Mary rub my hair where the veil must have made it frizzy.
Dipak is looking at me with tears in his eyes and a smile on his face. I stand up and run to daddy. I give him the biggest hug. I can't even talk. I'm so happy. I just cry and hug him. "I love you daddy."
"I love you too my princess."
He takes me back to my spot and hands me off to Tre. Tre fixes my chair again. "I'm going to be able to eat dinner here finally Tre."
"Finally."
Dracul looks at me. "You are getting more and more beautiful by the day princess."
"Thank you advisor."
Daddy gives the signal for food. Mary steps between me and Tre and squats down. She gives me some cloths. "Face princess. You cried a lot."
"I feel like I could cry a lot more."
"Here Tre extras. Check her every now and then." He puts them on his lap. She flattens my hair and steps back to her spot.
I stay at dinner for the full hour. I eat every single thing they put in front of me. This is so nice. I think I eat more than Tre does for once. He smiles every time I look at him. He's got his arm on the back of my chair. I can feel it but it doesn't bother me. No one seems bothered by it. He got done eating and is relaxing there. I'm the only one still eating.
Daddy says, "Princess are you going to be done tonight?"
"Daddy, I'm trying to make up dinners for the last 100 years."
"Well save some of the making up until tomorrow. Are you still hungry?"
"No I haven't been hungry in a long time daddy."
"Ok then. Tre veil her and take her back."
"Aww I can't see in that thing."
He whispers, "It's only down the hallway baby. I'll make it quick."
We make it back to my place and Mary says, "You're clear little miss."
I let go of Tre and throw the veil and gloves. Then rip the shoes off my feet. I start trying to untie the dress back and she yells, "NO!"
"OFF!"
"Not that clear little miss." She drags me to the bedroom.
She puts me in a human dress and bare feet. I throw my hair back and go back to the closet room.
