38. Liars

The jackass sees the red eyes and tries to back off me. "To late asshole." I break his neck. He lands on me, between my legs. I look at the tree. "Assistance please." I point at the issue just to make sure they see him.

Tre lands first. "I'm not happy about this."

"You think she was?" Gunner picks him up and shakes him off a little bit.

I grab Tre by the throat. "It's not about you. She has to learn. You want a strong mate or a weak one?"

Dipak's crying. I tilt his chin and look into his eyes. "Yea. She's on her own now. Like she always has been. Alright boys. It's about to get worse. And remember. If she doesn't say no. I don't step in. And neither do you."

I drink my fill and so do the boys.

I wake up on the ground. I shake it off. I understand life now.

I kick the mans body. "You said you wouldn't hurt me Leon. You are all just liars. ALL OF YOU. LIARS! YOU PRETEND TO BE NICE! YOU PRETEND TO CARE!"

I turn to my dragon. f*****g assholes will never touch me again.

I land near another village. I rip my skirt so it's short. It had big holes in it anyway. It ends on my thighs now. I need blood. I only need 1.

I go into the town and stand in the middle. I know I'll catch a liar fast.

A man comes up to me.

"Hello." I give him a pretty smile.

"Are you from here miss?"

"No I'm from a few villages over. You know anywhere I can sleep tonight? I don't have any money."

"I got a place not far. You want to stay with me?"

"That would be lovely. Do you have some food?"

"Sure. This way."

I feel my fangs lengthening already.

I follow him to his place. The second we get in, I break his neck. He drops to the ground. I eat his food and drink his blood before I leave.

It goes this way for weeks. I keep going. Roaming around. I don't even know where I am, what direction I'm facing.

Eventually, I land on a beach. I run and put my toes in the water. "Wow. I never thought I would get here on my own. I really made it."

I sit down and cry.

The sand is amazing on my toes. I go to the next village and do the normal. Flash a pretty smile. A man says right this way.

I go with him. But this one is different. He takes me to a path. Then he makes a hand signal and other men come out. I pass out immediately.

I pull myself off the ground after a few minutes. There are 4 dead men around me. I'm perfectly fine though. "What the hell happened?"

I hear someone coming and fly away as fast as I can.

I try again at the next village. I do the normal. Pretty smile. Man tries to get me to follow him. I do.

But this man is so nice looking. He has lots of muscles. I bet he is warm. I miss Dipaks arms around me.

I follow the man to his house. "You remind me of someone I miss." I take his arm.

"Someone you loved?"

"Yes."

I let him kiss me. "I'm not him but I can love you tonight." We get to his porch and he opens the door for me.

I go in with him.

He kisses me again. I throw my arms around his neck and press myself against him.

He picks me up and sits me on a table. He feels so good. I miss a mans touch. I feel his hands on my back. I love those hands. He's so warm.

"uhh'

"mmm'

I feel him kissing my neck. "Yes."

"Baby you taste so good."

"I can't." I push him back.

"What?"

"I love him, not you. I can't do this. I'm sorry." I start to cry.

"Come here now." He pulls me towards him.

I try to pull away. "NO."

I wake up on the floor. The mans body lays beside me. I lay there and cry for hours.

When I finally stop I eat some food from his kitchen then leave the village on foot.

I walk for a long time. Some paths. Some fields. I walk alone. I smell flowers and watch animals. I enjoy the breeze. I see a beautiful black horse in the middle of a field. He's standing there watching me.

I touch his shoulder. "Are you a wild horse? I've never seen a wild horse before. You're beautiful. Your hair is perfect. You are so soft."

"Miss, What are you doing here?"

"Oh I was petting this horse. I'm kind of lost I think."

There's a man on a horse staring down at me. He seems kind of mad. "This is my land miss."

"Oh I'm sorry. I'll go." I go back to the path. I know he's watching me. I can feel his eyes on me.

"Miss you want to come to my house and get cleaned up? You look rough. I can feed you. I may even have one of my late wife's dresses you can have."

"You lost your mate?"

"My wife, yes."

"I'm so sorry."

The man tears up and nods. "Thank you miss. She was a good lady. She was taken by a sickness."

I have tears in my eyes. To lose a mate I know is one of the worst pains there is. I can't imagine how much that hurt.

He rides up to me and offers me his hand. "You want to get cleaned up and eat?"

I nod and he pulls me on to his horse. He puts me behind him. I wrap my arms around him to hold on. I can feel he's strong. He takes me to a little cabin. There's a garden beside it. Some animals are in a barn in the distance. I can see a horse barn too. "How many horses do you have?"

"3 for now. I think I may have to put one down soon. She's not doing so well."

He helps me down.

"This is perfect. It's all so perfect."

He smiles at me. "Yea I like it too miss. Right this way."
