Deals and Promises

I stood at the solid metal door of a side entrance at Applesteine’s institute, the cool night air cupping me with icy fingers, as the realisation of the deal I had made with Doctor Applesteine hit me. I was not only giving up my freedom and giving someone else front-row seats to my untapped powers, but in a way, I was giving up Damon and the relationship we wanted. Maintaining our relationship while I was at the institute and with him at the house would be difficult.
And after today, after what I did to him, would Damon still want to see me? Will he ever forgive me? Tears trailed down my cheeks as sobs escaped my trembling breath. I’m scared… scared of losing the man I love… scared of the future. What am I going to do?
