A large, warm hand grasped my arm and yanked me back before my foot could hit the road. Electricity shot through my veins, jolting my heart and stealing my breath.

Trembling, I opened my tear-soaked eyes to see a tanned, half-naked Damon standing before me. Heavy tears tainted his multi-coloured eyes. His godly sculptured face was strained with worry. But he was standing, and he was free of Applesteine’s Institution. “D-Damon…?”
