Returning To The Pack

“Remind me never to fly again,” I said as the plane landed with a shuddering roll, rocking everyone forward in their seats.
The clatter of luggage in the overhead compartment followed. The scent of burning rubber filled the air. This was not where I wanted to be, and neither did my wolf. Once the plane slowed to a crawl, I finally unfurled my fingers from the armrest, pulled in my claws, and caught my breath.
“Don’t be such a sook...” Lucinda teased from the seat next to the window. Her face was alive and animated. It had been a while since I had seen her like this. “That was fun!”
“My kind prefer all feet on the ground, thanks,” I replied shakily, holding on to the seatbelt around my waist for dear life.
