Raelynn I stumbled out of the ballroom, my vision clouded by tears I refused to shed. The corridor seemed to stretch endlessly in front of me, each step echoing like a drumbeat in my ears. How could Lorenzo say those things? How could he reduce me to just a hybrid, unworthy of being by his side? A physical ache shot through my chest, piercing my heart.
