Chapter 4

557 Words
At this moment, Junior's rage threatened to consume him entirely as he witnessed the two embracing on the sofa. All the guilt he had felt towards Rosemary vanished in an instant! Their abducted daughter's life was hanging in the balance, yet here she was, in a hotel, embracing another man! He never imagined Rosemary would stoop to this! If she didn't want the child, why subject herself to such suffering by giving birth to her? "Damn it, you're that wild man of Rosemary's, huh? I'm talking to you, haven't you heard?" Alberta seethed, incensed at Junior's blatant disregard. He, the second-ranked scion of the Morley family, a prestigious clan in Keklia Town, was being blatantly ignored. Bang! A gust of wind swept through as Junior sent him flying like a soccer ball. Crashing into the back wall, Alberta gasped and spat blood, then writhing in pain. "Damn it, you dare hit me. I swear, if I don't skin you alive, I..." Alberta started to rant. "Throw him out!" Junior's eyes remained fixed on Rosemary, ignoring Alberta completely. "Yes!" Timothy entered the room. "What are you planning? If you dare touch me, I'll kill you!" Alberta yelled as Timothy approached him. Timothy slapped him twice across the face. "Shut your mouth or die!" He then grabbed Alberta and dragged him towards the door. "I'm asking you!" Junior's voice was cold as he spoke, still not looking at Rosemary. His anger made his tone heavier. "I won't blame you for neglecting Laurel, but tell me, who kidnapped her? I need to save her!" Before he could finish speaking, Rosemary walked up to him. Her eyes were icy. She raised her hand and slapped him across the face. Junior could have easily dodged it, but he stood still, staring coldly at Rosemary. "Who do you think you are to talk to me like this?" Rosemary's voice cracked as tears streamed down her face like rain. "Five years! Five long years! Do you know what I've been through all these years? I regret so much that I interfered five years ago to save you. If it weren't for that, I wouldn't have ended up in this situation today!" Rosemary cried out. "A person who disappeared for five years and abandoned me and my daughter, has no right to question me! Laurel is my daughter, and it's none of your business! From now on, don't let me see you again!" She had expected Junior to comfort her, to give her some sense of security. But what did he do? He came at her with accusations from the start. She felt utterly heartbroken... Junior spoke slowly, each word deliberate. "None of my business. Then How about you? How would I be here if you took it as your business?" With those words, Junior received another harsh slap across his face. Rosemary sneered. "Yes! I'm just a slut who sleeps around with any man! Is that the answer you wanted? Get lost!" Rosemary pushed Junior away. She covered her face with both hands. Tears of grievance streamed down uncontrollably as she rushed towards the door. "Rosemary!" Junior reacted quickly, reaching out to grab her arm. No matter what, he owed Rosemary an apology. His attitude just now was indeed too harsh... "Don't touch me!" Rosemary forcefully shook off his grasp and swiftly rushed out.
