Chapter 2

In Keklia Town, an unmarked van sped out of an abandoned factory and raced toward the outskirts. A girl, about four or five years old, was tied up inside. Her clothes were tattered, her face streaked with tears, and she was deathly pale. Her big eyes were filled with endless fear, and she trembled uncontrollably. Beside her were two tattooed men, one covered in scars and the other bald. The bald man asked, "Boss, who wants this little girl? The payment is so high, it can't be just anyone, right?" "Don't ask questions you shouldn't. Just do your job," the scarred man replied coldly, a deep fear flashing in his eyes. "So what exactly are we supposed to do with her?" the bald man asked. "Apparently, she's going to be used for a heart transplant for another girl," the scarred man said mysteriously. The bald man gasped. "That's brutal! That means this girl is as good as dead." "Do you have an opinion?" the scarred man sneered. "Laurel won't die. Daddy… Daddy will come and save me…" Hearing their conversation, the little girl started to cry loudly. "Where's this daddy of yours?" The bald man turned to the girl. "You're just a bastard. Your mom doesn't even know who your dad is." "I’m not a bastard. I have a daddy…" The girl sobbed, "You… you bad men, my… my daddy won't let you get away with this…" "Ha, even if you had a daddy, he's probably dead by now. Or, why hasn't he come for you all these years?" "Daddy isn't dead. He'll come for Laurel…" The girl shook her head fiercely. "Daddy will come…" "When do you think he'll come to save you? Tomorrow? The day after?" the bald man grinned, "Too bad, you're having surgery tonight. By tomorrow, even if your daddy comes, you won't be able to see him!" "No… no, I will see my daddy…" The girl cried even louder. The bald ignored her and commanded. "Find a place without surveillance cameras and switch cars. Don't get spotted." "Got it, boss!" The driver nodded. At 1 p.m., a military jeep screeched to a halt at the gate of the abandoned factory in Keklia Town. Bang! Before the jeep fully stopped, Junior, radiating murderous intent, kicked open the door and charged inside. An hour ago, he and Timothy had just landed at the Eastoria military airport and immediately received the intel. They drove a military jeep at breakneck speed to Keklia Town. "Are you sure Laurel's last message came from here?" Junior asked, scanning the surroundings and turning to Timothy. The factory hall was empty except for a few worn-out sofas and some broken machinery. "I'm sure," Timothy nodded firmly. "Our military system pinpointed it exactly. There's no mistake." Junior frowned and quickly moved to a door on the inner side. With a wave of his hand, the entire door exploded into splinters. When Junior saw the pile of shattered phone parts on the ground, a torrent of killing intent burst from him once more. They were clearly too late! Timothy, standing behind him, shivered involuntarily. He knew that Keklia Town was about to experience a massive upheaval. When Junior was furious, bodies piled high! Only Timothy truly understood how terrifying his Commander could be. The mention of his name alone was enough to make countless brave men go crazy with fear and reverence. Three years ago, at just twenty-two, Junior had become a legend in the camp. He single-handedly defeated the top generals of ten leading countries, earning his place as a god of war in a single battle! He was then tasked with defending Westcrest and forming the Shadowstorm Legion. His name intimidated neighboring countries into submission. Two years ago, Junior took on a new role, leading the secretive Darkmoon Legion within the country to eradicating crime and punish the wicked. When the western enemy plotted chaos, Junior led the Shadowstorm Legion and took the head of the enemy commander, leaving only a fraction of their million-strong army alive! "Investigate!" Junior ordered in a deep voice after calming his murderous aura. "Coordinate with the Keklia Town’s police station. Check all suspicious vehicles in and out of the area from the moment I received Laurel's message until now. I want results within half an hour!" "Got it!" Timothy nodded, pulling out his phone to make a call. "When will the Archangel arrive?" Junior asked once Timothy ended the call. The Darkmoon Legion was divided into five regions, each overseen by one of their top warriors. The Archangel was one of them. "I've already instructed Archangel to notify all members ranked three stars or higher in the Eastern District. No matter where they are or what they're doing, they must head to Keklia Town immediately!" Timothy replied. "Good," Junior nodded slightly. "Commander, where to next?" Timothy asked as they got back in the car. "Track down Rosemary's location. She might know who took Laurel," Junior responded after a brief pause. "On it!" Timothy quickly typed out a message and sent it. A few minutes later, Timothy's phone chimed with a notification. He checked it and looked at Junior with a hesitant expression. "Commander, the location of Ms. Jackson has been confirmed," said Timothy with a hesitant tone. "Tell me," Junior said in a low voice. "She's currently with a man in suite 808 at the Royal Feast Pavilion in Keklia Town," Timothy said after taking a deep breath. "Hmm?" Junior turned to look at Timothy, frowning slightly. "Maybe she's just there for business," Timothy said, taking another deep breath. "Drive now!" Junior lit a cigarette and took a deep drag, his eyes cold and his expression grim. Boom! Timothy floored the gas pedal, and the car shot forward.
