“I figured you’d be the type to get up at five am to workout,” I say, stretching as Larkyn sits on one of my barstools with her elbows leaning on my granite counter, sipping a cup of coffee. Larkyn narrows her eyes at me. “I am. I’m surprised you’re up this early.” I grin and pour myself a cup of coffee from the pot she left on. “I also happen to be a morning person who prefers to workout in the early morning hours before most people are awake.” I lift my coffee cup to my lips. Larkyn doesn’t smile at me. Her lips turn downward before she yawns. “Tired?” I ask. She nods.
