“Just an accident,” I responded, standing after tucking Erica into her covers.
“Are you sure? She wasn’t attacked?” The look of worry on her face was enough to make me worry.
My siblings and I all agreed on one thing, and that was not to make our mother worry too much. Her health wasn’t so good and making her worry would only worsen her failing health, like that she was battling a life-threatening illness or something but the fact that she faints often when she gets worked up is very concerning.
“Mom, Emily hasn’t gotten into an accident long since I can remember; not that I wish it for her; I just want to know if an accident happens... don’t worry too much about it; she will be fine-
“She wasn’t injured too much, was she?” She interjected right before I could even finish
