The Nightmare Shift

Chapter #4.Jay the runaway.

As Jay runs upstairs and slams his door shut, and locks his door, and packs all of his stuff into his backpack.

Packs most of his clothes he grabs his phone,charger and his blanket, pillow,bow and arrows.

Then opens his window and climbs onto his roof,grabs a hold of the tree and climbs down the tree, and runs off into the woods far away from the house.

After a couple hours pass by, the moon rises.

He then finds a waterfall with a cave behind it, as he puts the backpack in the cave, and goes through the waterfall, and washes himself down.

So no wolves can track his scent.

After a few minutes he gets out,and goes into the cave, and puts his pillow down on the cave ground, and puts the blanket also down,as then Jay wraps the blanket around himself.

So he could stay warm as he then falls asleep and hopes for the best that nothing tracks him down.

As Jay thinks about what he is going to do for a light source, and what he is going to hunt down for tomorrow.

*Jay drifts off to sleep*

*Jay thinks about how Rose is going to handle things with mom*

Then all of a sudden he hears howls and a yelp in pain,as Jay tries to block out the sound, as an idea suddenly pops in his head if there is an injured wolf.

He can help that wolf and turn it into his protector.

After a couple hours go by,the sun starts to rise, as Jay wakes up and grabs his arrows, and sharpens the tips of his arrows against the wall.

He then goes to the entrance of the cave, and aims his bow with the arrow in it, and releases the arrow, and shoots at a moose three times for the moose to get knocked down, as he grabs a decently big rock, and sharpens the rock into a knife.

As he runs over to the moose and grabs the moose, and drags it, and brings it into the cave, as he washes the blood trail, and then he grabs some wood, and leaves, and brings it back to the cave, and starts a fire.

He then takes all the fur off the moose, and cuts the moose into small portions, and then stabs the moose meat, and cooks it over the fire, as he waits after a few minutes, as he eats the moose meat.

Then after he finished eating he cut off the moose antlers, and turned it into very sharp knives, as he cleans the blood off the fur, and attaches it around the knife handles, and goes searching for materials to make his cave warmer, and liveable.

As he suddenly hears a wolf pup whining in pain, as he grabs leaves and rips a part of his shirt off and makes it into a short rope, as he heads to the noise.

He then gets to the injured wolf pup, as he walks closer to it, as he sees a bite mark across his leg, and it looks infected, as he puts his hand out calmly to the wolf pup.

So the wolf pup knows that he isn’t dangerous, as he picks up the wolf pup gently, and takes it back to his cave.

After a few minutes went by Jay arrives at the cave, and he sets the wolf pup down, and cups up some water in his hand, and places it over the bite mark, as it cleans it out.

As he puts some leaves on the wolf pup's leg, and ties it up with the small rope that he made, as he makes it tight enough.

So it won’t fall apart and the wolf pup’s leg can heal, as Jay gives some of the moose meat to the wolf pup.

Jay then says “I am going to name you Jade because you are a warrior.

Now eat up you need your strength”As Jay gets strong and quite long sticks, and knocks a hole at the top on each side of the entrance, and drapes the moose fur over the strong sticks,as he brings Jade a little bit closer to the fire so she could feel the warmth of the fire.

But not too close that she can’t hurt herself.

Jay grabs a big rock and carves out the inside of the rock, and then fills it up with water,then boils the water so it is okay to drink, as he drinks half of the water,then gives the other half of the water to Jade so she can drink.

After the hours pass by and night time comes up into the sky.

Jay grabs his phone from out of his bag, and takes a picture of him and Jade, then he shuts off his phone, and puts his phone back in his bag.

So he can save his battery power, as he gets Jade to fall asleep, and once Jade falls asleep Jay falls asleep as well.

Back at Nina’s house.

Nina goes up to Jay’s room and knocks on the door, and says “Jay are you sleeping?”As there was no response, so Nina leaves Jay’s door hoping he will come out soon, as she goes down to the basement, and closes the basement door, and says “Hey Zeke can you check on Jay he isn’t responding to me.I think he’s mad at me, because he saw blood on the palms of my hands two days ago, and I am really worried about him”

Zeke then says “Sure I can check on him. I will go and check on Jay now”As Zeke walks up the stairs, and opens the basement door, and heads upstairs, and goes to walk through Jay’s door.

Zeke suddenly hits his head, and says “Ouch that hurt.Why does it hurt?”

Rose opens her door, and peaks out her door a little bit,as she opens her door and says “Who are you mister?”

Zeke looks over at Rose and says “I am a friend of your mom’s.I’m Zeke”

Zeke then walks back down to the basement and closes the door, and says “Nina something weird just happened.When I tried to walk through Jay’s door I hit my head, and I actually felt pain, and your daughter Rose could see me, and hear what I was saying.

I can’t walk through doors anymore.

Does that mean I am alive again?Maybe give Jay some time to blow this off, he will come out when he is ready Nina.

Plus he has to open his door at some point, he has to be hungry around night, and if you would like.

I could watch Rose tonight while you go to work, you are already late”

Nina then says “Okay, fine I will go to work, but please let me know if Jay comes out of his room”As Nina runs up to the main floor, and grabs her keys, and goes into her car, and drives off a bit faster than normal

*After a few minutes go by Nina arrives at the hospital, and parks her car, and runs into the hospital*

She starts working as it is just her, by herself on floor D near the top floor, as she heads to floor D.

After a few minutes went by, Nina got to floor D and when she got there, all the lights were flickering, and some of them were blown out, as she started going into rooms to see if anyone needed anything.

But then when she went into the one room,the one guy laying in the bed grabbed a hold of Nina’s arm, and he dug his claws into her arm, and he made her legs feel like they were on fire.

As he pulled Nina closer to him, as he sank all his fangs into the side of Nina’s stomach, as she punched the patient hard enough to knock him out.

She stumbles out of the room and pulls out her phone, and texts Ash saying *Ash please hurry to the hospital I am not feeling so well*As she takes a picture of her wounds to the best of her capability, and sends the message, and the two pictures.

As she falls to the ground.

Ash then facetimes Nina, as she manages to hit the answer button.

Nina then says “Ash please hurry this is no trick I need your help.I feel like my legs are on fire, and if I don’t make it stay at the house with my kids, and tell them I love the two of them”As Nina suddenly goes quiet and she starts losing a lot of blood.

Ash quickly hurries over to the hospital, and after a couple minutes went by Ash arrives at the hospital, and runs inside, and follows the scent of blood.

All the way up to floor D, as he sees a small pool of blood around Nina, as his eyes turn pure black, and his fangs come out, as he walks up to Nina, and kneeled down beside her, and checks if she has a pulse.

She did as Ash had to make a decision, as he bit his arm, and he placed his arm up to Nina’s mouth, as some of his blood dripped into Nina’s mouth.

Ash then says “Come on Nina just drink a little bit it won't harm you, if you have a little”Ash positions Nina’s mouth to make it so she can bite down on his arm.

As Nina starts drinking some of Ash’s blood, as he starts seeing that some of Nina’s wounds start healing,as Nina wakes up.

Ash suddenly picks Nina up a bit,and hugs Nina caringly,then bandages up Nina’s wounds, as he removes his arm from Nina’s mouth, and says “How are you feeling now?Also can you please tell me how you got all those wounds”

Nina then says “It was a patient in that room I knocked him out.Then it went blank I can’t remember what happened to me”

Ash helps Nina up and brings her to the main floor, and brings Nina to her car, and puts Nina in the driver's seat, and closes the driver’s side door.

Ash then hears a footsteps coming closer to him, as he looks around suspiciously knowing who was following him,Ash opens up the driver’s side door, and says “After I close the door lock the car and stay low”Ash closes the driver’s side door, and Nina locks the car,Ash goes to the side of the building, Ash then gets thrown into the woods, as he hits his back against a tree.

Ash jumps down off the tree, and he runs to the guy, and slams him down to the ground, and grabs him by the throat,rips out his lungs and heart and sets the guy on fire.

The guy explodes and blood goes everywhere on Ash’s clothes,face,hands as Ash then runs up to Nina’s car and gets in the passenger side, and says “Lets go I need to get changed, and have a shower”

Nina drives off back home.

After a few minutes Nina and Ash arrive back at the house,and Ash runs upstairs, and hops into the shower, to clean all the blood off of him.

A couple minutes went by, Ash gets out of the shower and wraps a big towel around him, and walks downstairs into the basement, and gets dressed into his clothes.

*After a few months have passed by, and Jay hasn’t even stepped foot outside of, his room and Nina has gotten tired of waiting, for Jay to step outside of his room*

As Nina stands up off of her bed and walks over to Jay’s room, and unlocks his door, and opens it, and sees that Jay opened his window, packed all of his stuff and ranaway.

Nina runs out of his room and runs downstairs, and knocks on the basement door,then opens it with tears falling from her face.

Nina then says “Zeke,Ash! Jay ranaway from home. I need help to find him! Please”

Ash then says “Sure I’ll help you find Jay”

Then Ash ran outside and started searching for Jay.

*10 months have gone by*

Jay has grown taller and stronger in mind, and in body, and has gained a lot of information.

To take down any supernatural being, and end their lives.

But Jay also has become a wolf, and knows how to control himself.

He was turned by a shapeshifter months ago.

Also Jay has changed his name to Marcus

But Jade has grown into an adult wolf, and she has become stronger, and has gained a natural power,and she found out that she could shift.

Then all of a sudden Marcus and Jade both hear a lot of footsteps, and a lot of voices close by.

But then they heard a scream in pain,as Marcus & Jade walked out of their den and went searching for the person that screamed.

When they arrived the person was drained dry of blood,as Marcus’s eyes turned to a golden orange for a second.

As Marcus and Jade suddenly heard a voice that Marcus found familiar.

The voice then said “Jay it is time to come back home,your mother is worried sick about you”

Marcus then says “Tell her that I don’t want to come back to her house.I am doing fine on my own. I have a wolf, and that is all I need now go.

Now before I kill you”

Ash then walks up to Marcus and says “You can’t kill me”

Marcus’s eyes then turn a bright, glowing, golden, orange and his sharp wolf teeth come out,and Marcus shifts into his black wolf form with red streaks through his fur,and Marcus growls warning Ash to go away now.

Ash’s fangs came out,and he says “If you want to fight then we can fight, but you know that you won’t make it.Let me say that your little sister Rose isn’t doing so well.

She is in a coma,she got hit because she wanted to go looking for you”

Ash then runs off back to Nina.

*Back with Nina*

As Nina arrives at the hospital and checks in on Rose and sits in the chair keeping an eye on her.

Ash walks through the hospital doors,and says “I have found Jay.I told him what happened,but now he is different Nina he is a wolf now”

Nina then says “Did you bring him?”

Ash then says “No, but I have a feeling that he is going to come”

*Back with Marcus & Jade*

Marcus shifts back to his human form,and says “Come on Jade we have to get to the hospital.My sister is in a deep sleep”

Jade shifts back into her human form,and says “Okay Marcus let’s go”

Marcus quickly goes over to their den,and goes inside, and grabs two fur coats,and runs back out, then hands one of the fur coats to Jade,then he puts his fur coat on,and says “Okay,now let’s get going”

As Marcus & Jade start walking to the hospital.

Jade puts on her fur coat.

*After 34 minutes pass by*

Marcus & Jade arrive at the hospital.

Jade begins to feel uneasy.

As Marcus says “It’s okay Jade I will keep you safe”Marcus puts his arm around Jade’s waist.

Marcus & Jade walk into the hospital,and they walk to his mother,as Marcus says “Where is Rose”

Nina gets up and turns, and faces Marcus,and says “Jay You Came Back”

Marcus then says “My name isn’t Jay anymore it’s Marcus,and I’m only here for Rose and her recovery.But I’m Not Staying With You”As Marcus goes to one of the doors with Jade,and Marcus opens one of the doors.

As Marcus and Jade walk in,Marcus closes the door and locks it.

Marcus walks up to Rose’s bed and holds her hand,and says “Rose this is Jay your older brother.If you can hear me I’m sorry I left you with our mother,but I couldn’t stand another minute with her.

Rose show me a sign that you can hear me”

Rose moves her finger up and down.

Marcus then says “Don’t worry Rose you will be awake soon.I promise”

Jade goes to put her hand on Marcus’s shoulder,and says “It is going to be okay my love.If you want we can stay the night?”

Marcus looks up at Jade and says “I would like that”

Jade then says “I’ll be back I’m going to get something to drink.You want anything?”

Marcus then says “Yeah,could you get me some water please”

Jade nods her head and walks to the door,and unlocks it,then she opens it and walks through the door,and closes it.

Nina suddenly comes walking up to Jade,and says “Who are you?”

Jade then says “My name is Jade.You must be Nina Marcus’s mother”

As Nina says “How do you know my son?”

Jade then says “He saved my life I would’ve died if he wasn’t there”Jade then looks around as people start walking down the hall.

As Jade quickly walks off to find some water.

Ash then says “Nina she’s a wild wolf,sh-”

Nina suddenly cut Ash off by kissing him on the lips.For a few minutes then she released her lips off of his.

Ash suddenly kisses Nina back lovingly.

Few minutes later.

Jade comes back with a cup of water,and goes into the room that Marcus is in,then closes it and says “Here you go”

Marcus then says “Thank you Jade”As Marcus pats his lap.

Jade walks over to Marcus and sits on his lap,and snuggles into Marcus.

As Marcus and Jade fall asleep together,for half the night.

Outside of Rose’s room.

Nina looks through the window,and says “It’s nice to see Jay,but I know it won’t last for too long”

Ash then says “Maybe we can convince him to stay here”

*Few hours go by*

Jade wakes up startled as a nurse comes walking in.

As the nurse says quietly and calmly “Do not worry miss.I’m just here to check on Rose”

Marcus wakes up and says “It’s okay Jade just stay calm”

Jade’s heart suddenly feels like it’s beating faster and faster,and her eyes start flickering.
