Chapter 7
Grace Evans/ John Evans.
"What happened John? You don't like me?" Asked Lucy. Sure, some girls hit on me when I do gender-bender but this is on some other level. I didn't think that the girls studying in such a prestigious school and a strong background could be this desperate. . .
"No, I don't. Now, please keep some distance. You have already made me feel uncomfortable." I straightforwardly told her. Her reaction was priceless. Eyes and mouth wide open. Her expressions changed and now she was gritting her teeth.
"Take back your words." She said and I almost chuckled. So she is the 'I can't take no for an answer' type of girl. Can't take rejection eh?
I bend a little to make eye contact with her. "Why should I?" I said in a mean tone and smirked at her. Without wasting any more time on her I decided to walk away.
I was expecting more from this place, to be honest. . .
A while later I found Hano and he gave me all my schedules and told me some details about the school. The school was highly organized and governed. Everything was on point. I saw many girls ogling at me, many tried to talk to me on the first day.
So this is the place where I am going to spend the whole year. These are the people that I will be surrounded by. I took my first class and the teacher made me introduce myself to the class. I delivered the speech which Nathaniel made me memorize. I went and a lot of girls scooted from their place for me to sit but I decided to go and sit on the back alone.
Time passed and the class ended. After the class, a few girls and surprisingly a few boys came to talk to me. So not all people are snotty here. They all introduced themselves to me and in all honesty, I could barely remember all their names at once.
It was time for the next class. I went to the calculus class and saw Lucy there. She was smirking at me. She got up from her seat and as I was passing beside her she deliberately made herself fall on me. I catch her due to a sudden reflex and all the class starts to hoot for us.
"Thank you. . . John." She said seductively and I rolled my eyes at her.
"Didn't think of you as the clingy type of girl Lucy," I told her in a hard tone and her expressions changed into furious one.
"They sure look cute. Look at the guy, he's so hot!"
"Are they a new couple now?"
"Why does Lucy always get the hot guys?"
I could hear comments from the class. This Lucy girl is not someone normal, she's onto something and remember when I said that this school is completely different from ordinary high school? I was wrong. The gossips and the snotty people are all the same.
Lucy had a satisfied smirk on her face. She looked quite pleased and I was already over this place. This was not how I was expecting my first day to be. It's so boring. Everyone around here is the same. The people around here are all acting the same.
There are so many rules and regulations that they are making us follow. This place needs some spark and enthusiasm otherwise I don't think I will be able to survive here. Without giving much attention to the gossips I decided to plug AirPods in my ear and minded my own business
A while later I felt someone tapping on my shoulder. I looked at the person who disturbed my peace. "Hi, can I sit with you?" It was a girl. I removed the AirPods and gave her my attention. She was a petite looking, chocolate skin girl and in all honesty, she was quite attractive. She had an under-confident persona around her. I looked at her and she was looking quite stressed out.
I looked behind her and some girls were taunting and laughing at her. They were giggling and from what it looks they were making fun of her.
Interesting. . .
"Yeah sure," I said in my deep tone. I removed my bag from the seat beside me to make some space for her to sit. She looked quite surprised by my gesture. Her reaction told me that she wasn't expecting this. She looked behind at the girls and then sat down.
The girls laugh died down and Lucy was continuously glaring at us.
"They will make trouble for me again." Mumbled the girl sitting beside me.
"Do they bully you?" I asked her. She was startled a bit and looked at me with her big eyes.
"No. . . no they don't." She said,
Liar. . .
"John Evans, what's your name?" I asked her and stretched out my hand for her to shake.
"Isabella. . . Isabella Roman Armando." She said and shook hands with me.
"Your hand is quite soft. . ." Isabella mumbled. I thought after hard training my hands got quite harsh but seem like I was wrong. . .
"Uh yeah. . . anyway, So as I was asking, Isabella, do they bully you?" I asked her. She looked quite nervous and her eyes travelled to Lucy and the other girl group.
"You can tell me, I'll protect you. Don't worry." I told her.
"And why would you do that?" She asked me. Interesting question. . . why would I want to help her?
"Maybe because I'm a good person?" I told her. She was surprised to hear me but didn't utter a word. I also decided to shut my mouth. Shouldn't force her to tell me something she doesn't want to.
There was a moment of silence between us and a while later the girl group called Isabella. Isabella got up from her place immediately ready to dash but before she could I stopped her and made her sit beside me.
"She's guiding me about the course. I'm sure you guys won't mind if she spares me some of her time." I said in a loud tone. The girl group gave me a tight smile and nodded.
"What are you doing? Why are you making trouble for me John?" Asked Isabella.
"They are not your friends, right?" I said and she looked down. This girl is too underconfident. She's letting people play with herself.
"Alright, leave this topic. You don't need to go back to them. You can sit here with me. I also need someone to tell me about this fancy place and I think you're the best person I can choose." I told her.
"And don't worry they won't be able to bully you from now on. I can guarantee you that." I told her. She didn't look satisfied with my speech nor I expected her to be.
"What do you want to know?" She asked in a low tone and I smirked at her.
