BRIER
A week has passed since the attack. Out of 700 pack members, only 247 remain. As a pack we are devastated.
After I transferred the pack to its new caretaker, (I have no clue how I knew how to do that. It’s like I just spouted word vomit, but it worked so it’s all good.
The vile Alpha Ambrose and his posse were escorted by fae guards off of our territory. We are not sure why he was here, as he was never an ally and dad would never let him or his horrid pack members step foot on our land.
I would not put it past him to be behind the attack, but for now we have no proof. I thanked our allied packs for coming to our aid. Other than Silver Lake, both Red River and Dark Moon responded in record time and managed to take back the pack. We owe both Alpha Simon of Red River and Alpha Patrick of Dark Moon so much, they both left warriors with us to help with patrols while we got our feet back under us.
I think they were a little awe-struck and maybe a little scared by what happened when I transferred the pack to Alpha Roman. There have always been whispers of legends surrounding our pack, past down like fairy tales, but after I called to the four deities to ask permission, some of those fairy tales started to bear an air of truth.
It was decided unanimously that all the survivors would move to Silver Lake and, as a pack, we swore our allegiance to the pack and accepted Alpha Roman as our Alpha. The fae have offered to hide our pack lands in a pocket world.
They are going to use my blood to link it to my bloodline so only I or one of my descendants will be able to make it reappear, so our home will be safe and waiting for us when we are strong enough to take it back.
The attack has changed us all and none of us have been left without the loss of loved ones. I thank the goddess that both Megan and Jedadiah both survived, but Megan’s brother, Jonus, was killed and her dad, Samson, was badly injured. Jedadiah’s mother Lily, and aunt Abbey, were in the bunker that my mum and I were heading for. The explosion killed everyone inside, both of my friends have lost their sparkle, the light in all our eyes has dimmed, I suppose.
Today is the day of the move. We buried the last of our dead yesterday, and we packed our things and said farewell to our home.
Alpha Roman has arranged for buses and trucks to transport our belongings and anyone without a car.
I was just bringing out the last of my belongings when I spotted Xavier in a heated discussion with that trampy girl, Crystal. I thought she was dating that Zane loser.
I can’t believe him and Xavier are related. All Crystal and Zane have done is complain since they got here, from the food to the accommodation, and the lack of shopping. I mean what the fu.ck, we have lost everything, and they are complaining that they had to share rooms.
And she keeps touching Xavier, which really pis.ses me off for some reason. She is doing it now, her snake-like arms are trying to loop around his neck, but he keeps dodging her.
She gives up and runs her hands down his chest and actually grabs his di.ck. He roughly pushes her away and storms towards his car. He grabs my hand as he passes me and growls “come on kitten, you are riding with me. We can have a nice quiet road trip, just you and me.”
I climbed into his SUV, and we all headed out of the territory. Once we all cleared the border, everyone but us headed to Silver Lake.
Marigold, one of my mums best friends and the leader of the fae town, is waiting with a group of twenty winter fae’ that are ready to perform the spell to hide our home.
Only myself, Xavier and these few fae will know where it is. We got out of the car and I walked into Marigolds arms. I have known these people my whole life, and I am sad to be leaving them.
Marigold has a glass bowl on the ground, and it is full of what looks like different colored sand. She walks into the forest and grabs a handful of dirt and breaks a small branch from a tree. It shudders, She places her hand on its trunk and whispers “I am sorry old friend,” she stuffs everything into the bowl, then beckons me to her.
We kneel down next to the bowl. The rest of the fae surround us in a circle, and she takes my hand in hers. With a knife, she makes a deep cut along the inside of my arm and rests my hand on the top of the bowl.
The fae start to chant as my blood runs into the bowl. I start to feel odd, like there is an electric current running through me and I close my eyes for a moment and when I open them, the bowl has gone and in its place is a snow globe, with what looks like a miniature version of our territory, I look around and where my home used to be there is now just miles of fields, she explained that our home was now ours to protect and when we are ready we can place our home wherever we want, the only way to break the spell is for the blood of my line to touch the globe and read the spell.
I thanked her again and Xavier and I got back in the car. “So kitten, are you ready to start your new life?” I smiled at him and nodded.
