||*KIMORA*||
**THREE MONTHS EARLIER**
~~
[Did you sign the email I sent you?]
I had my phone pressed against my ear, supporting it with my shoulder to prevent it from falling while I searched through my handbag for my car keys.
[I haven't uncle, what is it about? I have told you to sign these documents yourself, you're the vice president.]
I respond, fishing out my key, and I stride towards my car. I opened the door, placing the dinner I packed for my boyfriend on the front seat with care before hopping into the driver's seat.
[You are the CEO, it is your job to go through whatever documents attached to the company and sign; I am taking you along in the process because I would resign soon, Kimora. Why do you keep neglecting your duties?]
Uncle Wyatt nags again, as usual, and I let out a sigh.
We do this all the time, no matter what his purpose for calling me is, he never forgets to nag me about the company and my duties to the company.
I understand where he is coming from; I am past the legal age my parents wrote in their will for when I should take over the company. It's been five years since I turned twenty-three, however I keep avoiding my duties as the CEO.
[I am not neglecting my duties uncle, I am busy here too. Besides, why do you need to sign these documents when you can? Just sign it for now, I have to drive so I'll hang up now.]
I tell my uncle without waiting for his response before hanging up the call, I would have only got more scolding from him, if I waited another minute before ending the call.
Before setting my phone aside, I scrolled through my message to see if my boyfriend had replied and it seem weird that he still hadn't read the text I sent five hours ago.
What has he been doing for the past five hours? Heaving a sigh, I scroll to my call log and I tried dialing his line for the fifth time, which ends up going to voice.
This is unlike him, did something happen to him? I know he goes on a business trip every two weeks, but he just recently came back from one and he didn't mention going away until next month.
Perhaps he is at home resting home with his phone turned off, putting aside my phone I turn on the car ignition, driving out of my house gate.
The through the estate to the main road of Knightsbridge usually takes three minutes at most, but I had to stop by the Gucci store just outside the estate gate.
As I stepped into the store, I asked for the newly released brand of Gucci wristwatch that William talked about buying a few weeks ago.
In no time, I paid for the items, walking back to my car as I checked the time on my watch. If there is no traffic, I should get to Chiswick in no less than fifteen minutes.
For me that's a long distance to drive, especially if I am going to see my boyfriend. I have tried persuading William severally to move out of his flat in Chiswick so we can live together.
It's a hassle driving from central London to West London, all the time, just to spend time together. Even if he spends most time in my house, it still doesn't equate to living together.
But William is stubborn, despite being in a relationship for two years, he still thinks moving together is a step we have to take after we are engaged.
I am not against getting engaged, but that also means going back to Phoenix, the responsibilities I have neglected all this years will crash on my neck and I am certain it would delight uncle Wyatt to pass down the CEO title to me once and for all.
I put the purchase bag in the backseat and I drive out of the Store parking lot, back onto the main road, I just hope there is less traffic, because workers are all in their way back home and the roads get hectic.

I let out a huff as I get down from the car, grabbing the food box and items I bought from the front seat before closing the door.
There was traffic and I almost screamed my lungs out, cursing at those useless drivers, once they see a woman is behind the wheel, they just assume we don't know how to drive and they try nonsense all the time.
As I walked towards William's flat door, I called his number again and kept redirecting to voicemail, I just hope William is in.
I unlocked the door, with my key to the flat, and I stepped inside to see his lights turned on. I let out a sigh of relief knowing he is home, perhaps he is sleeping because the house is unusually quiet.
Throwing my coat and on the sofa, I walk towards the dining with the lunch box and I settled it on the table before making my way up the stairs the items I purchased.
I am sure Williams would love this, even though he grumbles whenever I buy him things, but this time he would be so delighted. I can't wait to see the smile on his face.
Just the thought of seeing him happy brought a smile to my face as I climbed to the top of the stairs, turning the corner of the hallway toward his room.
I was so delighted to the see the surprised look on his face when I finally give him the wristwatch that I skipped happily down the hallway. I was almost at the door when I heard what appeared to be voices coming from his room, and I paused.
Is Williams with his friends? But he doesn't have any friends that visit him, they mostly meet in the bar every weekend. Perhaps he is on call, I thought as I neared the door, ready to turn the knob, when I heard a female voice and my hand paused.
"Father is getting impatient Will, when are you getting this over with it's been two and half years."
The female says, whining and I heard William sigh.
"Come on Nessa, just a little patient, tell your dad to give me more time."
William says to her, and I pressed my ear to the door.
"William, you've been asking for more time for the past two and half years, if you continue like this, father will never agree to our marriage. You know, the only reason father agreed to the engagement was because you promised to get him those stock files, so he can finally drag KIM CORPORATION to the ground yet you've brought nothing."
The Nessa woman snapped, and I felt a sharp pain in my head. They want to bring down my parents' company?
Why?
"I am trying Nessa, Kimora is a difficult person to deal with, I spent six months from that two and half years chasing her. Like I told you and your father, she rarely handles anything related to her father's company, that's why it's difficult to get those files. But I am close, I've been trying to convince her to get engaged, that way we would go back to Phoenix together and I would find the perfect chance to steal the file."
I placed my hand over my mouth in shock to prevent making a sound as I heard the words from William's mouth.
Good God, what is this that I am hearing, William?
"Are you falling in love with her, why would you want to get engaged to her? You are my fiance or did you forget I am carrying your child."
The Nessa lady screamed, and I crouch down by the door as my body trembled from the revelation. Is this really happening or am I having a nightmare?
This can't be true, no, I refuse to believe this, Williams knows I am coming, perhaps this is just a prank. It has to be a prank, there is no way William would do this to me.
"You know it hurts that you doubt my love for you Nessa, I am doing all this for you. So we can finally be together and have your father's blessings. Yet you think I would fall in love with some attention deprived b***h. I deserve more than you doubting my sincerity."
William says, and I felt the urge to stick my nails into my ears to prevent me from hearing anything else.
"I am sorry baby, it's just, I am pregnant and feel lonely without you beside me all the time and father won't stop nagging me. I want this to work, so that we can finally have our happy family, but it is taking too long. Can't we just run away and forget about everything."
"Come here Nessa, you know your father will track us down. Just give me two months and I'll get this over with, even if I have to beat it out of her. I'm sorry for making you feel lonely, baby. I love you, that's why I go through the torture of being with that brat for you. Hm."
The bag in my hand dropped as I stand up with shaking legs and I pushed the door to his bedroom open and their heads snapped to me.
William quickly detached himself from the lady, stumbling off the bed in only his boxers on.
"Kim baby, it's not what you think."
William says, rushing forward and I hold my hand out.
"Don't you dare come close to me!"
I snapped, as tears rushed down my cheeks.
"You used me, Williams, deceived me for two years, told me you love me despite knowing what I have dealt with in the past. How could you Williams, how could you?"
I screamed at him, with tears streaming down my eyes, and I heard the Nessa woman hiss.
"I never told you I loved you though, you only assumed I did."
William responds, unable to meet my eyes.
"What? All those times I said I love you and you said it......"
I paused as realisation hit me. He never said it back, those three words Williams never said it back. Remembering how often I tell him those words, he always replied with you too, nothing more.
How could I have been so foolish not to notice, was I so blinded with the attention and affection for me to realise that simple fact?
"Also, I didn't use you, I was going to give up on chasing you if you hadn't invited me over to your house that night for a drink. So you brought this on yourself."
William says rolling his eyes, and I stumbled, feeling my entire world crash before my eyes. Everything I've believed for two years was all for nothing.
When I finally thought I found true love, how did I not suspect that this was a sham. He was too perfect; he became everything I've dreamed of in a man, caring, attentive, understanding and also passionate.
I met him at my lowest, William helped me move on from my ex, and I thought he was the one not know he would be worse than my past.
"You're Mr Pat's daughter."
I say, pointing to the Nessa lady, and she scoffs.
"If you are, done crying, can you move your wretched self out of the way and close the door? You can see my fiance and I were having a moment before you barged in."
Nessa says, and I gaped at her before casting my eyes back to Williams.
"You heard her, please leave you already know the truth, so this is over, it was fun knowing you."
William says and I let out a bitter chuckle, I can't believe I fell for a sham again. Imagine not learning from my past relationships.
"Yeah, by the way Nessa, do you know he fvcks like a wimp? And William, I would advise you to do a DNA test once that child is born. Remember that time we went to my doctor for a checkup? He told me you are infertile, but I didn't want to see you sad, so I didn't tell you. However, you deserve to know now, since this is all about knowing the truth. Have a nice life, you two."
The shock and pain on William's face eased the pain in my heart a little as I turned to the door, picked up the stupid gift I bought for him and I stomped down the hallway, wiping furiously at the tears that spilled.
"Is that child mine?"
I heard William screamed at his fiancee as I walked down the stairs.
"Are you seriously believing what she said, she is trying to get to you William."
Nessa snapped at him.
"That is not the answer to my question, you are fvcking Richard aren't you? Your so-called bestie, Noah told me, but I never believed him. How shameless of you."
I hear Williams' voice from downstairs and I halt my steps hear more.
"Don't you dare slut shame me okay, you think it was easy for me knowing my fiance is fvcking another woman all this time? The nights I would call and you tell me, you're in with that b***h, while I have to endure the night alone. I also needed someone to warm my bed, and you weren't there, you asshole, so you have no right to blame me."
Nessa snapped back at her future husband.
"Fvck you Nessa, I wasn't there because I was trying to do the right thing for us. For your father, yet you slept with that cunt, you are so fvcking disgusting and you have no shame, using a child that isn't mine to pin me down."
"Well, no one forced you to agree with father's request, I told you to run away with me but you refused, you wanted to be the good so in law so you can inherit my father's wealth. You think I don't know."
Nessa screamed at Williams.
"You are an ungrateful b***h and this stupid relationship is over, I have had enough of you and your father he can marry you now if he wants to."
William lashed, Nessa screams echoed through the pillars of the house, and I picked up my jacket from the couch just as I heard the door slam shut.
Serves you both right for using me and making me waste two years of my life thinking I had found my, forever.
Even though I lied about his infertility, I am sure it will take him a while to find out the truth, at least this I don't get to suffer the heartbreak alone.
I wiped my tears as, entering my car and I drove out of his compound, with pain in my heart.
