'yeah mom its beautiful' she lied looking at the worst one bedroom apartment ....
she can also see the paint patches that are going to completely pealed off from the walls in coming time....she can smell the faint moist odor but she dont want to sound any more ungrateful then she already had made a judgment about the tiny apartment....
But living in New York is expensive will be an understatement....luckily her friend Becca asked one of her fratt boys friends to lent he some cheapest studio apartment ....but even this apartment rent cost her more than she guessed. She really need to find the job as soon as possible
She heard her mo concerned voice 'annie you aren't lying to me I know I will caught YOU'
Anna dont want to trouble her already worried mom ....she knew how hard her mom work in the local restaurant as an receptionist and sometime part time waitress when money got tight which always does especially when her mom wanted Anna to go to university for higher education
Anna lighted her tone 'mom im not pinky promise...its really beautiful ....Its one bedroom and perfect for me and rent is also quite low' well comparatively to other apartment she cynically thought
But her mom never stop worrying and how can she ....she raised Anna as a single mother when her father left them for another....she would have never left her mom but her mom told her to be independent and chase her dreams
'i would be more happy if you got the hostel room of your university....can't they facilitate you since you got the top scholarship spot in their business study program I mean its just your last year...can't they entertain the exchange program students' jenna asked her all questions that anna already answered
Anna open the window of her apartment to let the air in and can look at the view ...which was a similar building like her ... Beautiful she shake her head
Anna try to relax her mom 'mommy I told you that can't im not the only exchange student here there are thousands of them they cant give rooms to all and secondly its really expensive even if I secured a room there'
Then she heard the loud gruff background sound 'jenna will you stop talking on the phone the manager is looking for you'
Anna closed her eyes when she heard her mom scared voice ...she felt tears in her eyes that her mom is doing so tiring job day n night for her and she never got appreciated...
Jenna said to Anna 'annie baby I need to go but I will check daily and if you need money just tell me don't try to find job that disturb your study...you just relax make friends n say my hello to becca too'
Anna voice shake with so many emotions 'mom I love you so much ....dont worry I had money I saved from my last summer job....you just take care n mom (she paused) one more year then all our worries are gone....I will find the best job that you will put you in.ease to never work in your life again'
Jenna sniffs 'oh baby that will be the best day of my life....I know you will fulfills my dreams ...(she heard another angry voice) ok baby now I really have to go love you'
After good bye ...Anna composed herself....she can do this she will bear any pain and struggle to make her mom proud...
She then looked her bear room which need a lot of cleaning first and some furniture too but first thing first...
she picked the broom 'come on Anna let's make this apartment home sweet home'

Becca touch Anna shoulder that let her flinched so bad that she make a sound in quite library
Anna was so lost in her course book that she got scared 'Becca a little warning will be appreciated '
Becca was chewing her gum and shrugs 'even that doesn't matter you are so into books that I know my magical touch can bring you back'
Anna shakes her head 'shh will you speak quietly its library which by the way what you are doing'
Becca eyes shine when ever she give any news ' well you know im your guiding angle who are here to solve all your problems....so first I found a perfect place where you can buy a good mattress so that you can throw that well used couch which you have been using for a month and then there is another thing'
Anna close her book ' Becca I appreciate YOUR help but im really ok with the couch and secondly you have already lent me your fridge I feel guilt to use your time on my shopping'
Becca roll her eyes 'dont start with your no becca this no becca that....I did nothing ...I give you a mini fridge that's used for putting bottle water only and secondly who said shopping will waste my time its therapy...so pick your sorry ass and come' she dragged anna outside the library and sit in Becca old truck that belongs to her boyfriend got for her
'damn it why thi scar stop working when its need the most' becca yelled
Anna give her the car keys 'when you will use wrong key then how it will work ...here take this '
Becca passed Anna sheepish smile...
'what was the other thing you want to tell me' Anna asked while making the bun of her thick blonde hair
Becca replied 'oh this news was very big then first one...remember you told me you need a part time job ...well you are in luck well I got two job for you...one is a coffee shop they need a waitress my boyfriend Dave is friend with the owner so the job is yours if you want it but the pay is quite low'
Anna picked her nails a nervous habit 'what about the other job?
Becca pout 'well its a housekeeper s***h a cook kind of job in the top notch society of New york.....my senior and cheerleader Amy's mom came and randomly told her Brother apartment is mess and they need an immediate house keeper who they will pay way more than what she say in a moment...but I think the the coffee shop job will be best for you it will be less tiring and you can focus in your studies'
Anna eyes bulged .....she has no experience in house keeping but she can cook well and since she is looking after her apartment and make it look like a place to live ...she can try her luck..
Becca can see her friend reaction 'why I think you just made your mind for the second job....Anna its your choice but let me tell you beside good money that dude sound kind of a jerk as her sister was complaining yo her mom that its third time in a month he kicked off the house keeper ....and you are too good for such boss to handle'
Anna glared her 'but im strong ....I handle worse ....secondly I need money you know mom is working so hard to pay off the loans she has taken from her boss and bank for my early studies .....I can pay them all and also save some and give to my mom so that she can leave her asshole boss' she sadly Said
Becca understand her situation 'i know anna how much you love your mom...and I can understand too ...dont worry I will talk to amy my hostel mate and she will pass the message to her mom'
Anna took a relief breath....and internally said im doing this for mom
Then Becca bring Anna attention to a point 'you do remember you will come with me for work to cover the shift in the cafe?' Becca was hesitant
Anna was also not confident but she cant say no to Becca she already has been a great help to her 'I will but dont be too hopeful im really not good at waitress stuff.....another reason to pass that coffee shop offer'
Becca excitedly speak 'Anna you are best....you really saving my ass my boss was ready to fire me when i miss the whole weekend shift although i was busy in my personal s**t and told him before but he is misogynistic ass and denied on my face that i didnt told him on time and now other waitress has gone so i should come up with a back up or im gone'
Anna squeezed her friend hand 'no biggie i can hopefully survive a week there'
Becca beamed with happiness 'it will be so fun and secondly the tips are also good ...your effort wont be wasted'
Anna passed a nervous smile...she hope so because right now money is really tight and she need to send money to her mom too ...may be this wont be bad

He was frustrated and super annoyed with his mom phone call..he was roaming outside the lana hospital room and was listening to his mom complaints about how he fired their old housekeeper
'Mom i still dont get it why we are still having this conversation i fired her because i can and you know she was speaking s**t about Lana to my freaking driver so i lashed on her'
Her mom scolded him 'I still cant believe how you behaved and was so rude while firing our family housekeeper...i sent her to look after your apartment which was a disaster drew a bloddy disaster when i first enter that house (he heard her mom sighs) ...i shouldnt have sent her to your apartment...its my fault but i was in a hope that my son has been taught better and know how to behave but you prove me wrong here.....now im hiring someone to clean your mess so this time you cant fire her'
Drew wanted to end this nonsense call and just agreed with his mom 'mom you know what hire anyone you want i want say anything I promise ok, you are in charge of this happy, but now can i go...i came to check lana and now i have wasted alot of time in this so called conversation'
But his mom Susan Scott was no where done 'Drew i just wanted to help you...have you seen yourself for the past ten months you are a mess like your house.....you dont eat well not take care of yourself and your anger is creating headlines in town...and for what for that girl who left you when things were little tough between you guys (she sighs) i feel awful that lana is in coma and i prayed that she got well soon and be healthy again but being a mother im telling you, you are just wasting your time on her she give you so much pain., Be there as her friend not anything else son' susan try to make a point
But this make drew super pissed 'mom i respect you alot so i will ignore what you said now...and it was my fault she left and i will wait for her till end she is my best friend, my love, my life....i felt so guilty that i didnt fight for us and let her go because if I havent then she might not be in this state right now.. but this time i will not loose any chance to get her back'
Susan was quite in the line and then she quietly said 'we all want best for you drew ...its your life if lana makes you happy then our blessing are with you guys'
Drew didnot said anything as his mom already end the call...
Drew was lost in his mind....its true for the past almost 10 months when lana left him n when she got in the accident he is miserable ...he cant be happy and is super pissed at everyone
He shake off the feeling he is here for lana and go spend sometime with her and not think anything else
He went to lana's room and saw her pale body attached with dozen of tubes and machines...he sit down and kissed her forehead and picked her hand 'hi babe how are you today....i know you can listen to me and i know you know what i will say next that i love you so much and just get better and i promise after that i will make everything else better'
Then for an hour he sit and talk about their childhood days ..he laughed ..he become sad but there was no reaction from lana.....
He need one sign that she is here with him not her body ..he want to feel her spark that he saved in his memory ...he was lost in his thoughts that he felt someone hands on his shoulder it was Lana's mom 'Helen ' he stand and greet her
Helen sadly smiled 'she will open her eyes like you i know she will....you are such a good friend to her ...and im grateful that even now you dont make her feel alone'
Drew tense his posture he wanted to correct her not only he is lana friend but also his fiance ...ok ex fiance but he still loves he
Then they heard a knock it was Pam , his best friend Ben girlfriend and doctor here....
She excuse them and said she need to talk to Drew
Drew like Pam and also become his friend over the period of time...said 'hi pam whats up'
Pam smiled 'nothing i was taking a round to ladies ward ..i had a feeling i will found you here....Ben called me to check on you and tell you to come for lunch '
Drew touch his head 'oh yes i totally forget we had a meeting with some new distributors....thanks i will go now'

Drew pass him a bore look 'dont be dramatic tell me about he deal we had or not?'
Ben shake his head 'coming to the business direct arent we? ok then yes we got the deal although the client really wanted to meet my second half and this company CEO butt never mind...now come we going for lunch im starving'
Drew sighs 'you know i was with lana .i lost time track..sorry i should be there'
Ben pickes up his coat and shrugs 'dont be we got the deal at end its matter the most and secondly when will you stop religiously meet your ex ....some time i think you forget what she did to you'
Drew was fuming with anger 'stop it...first mom and now you also telling me to leave lana..i loved her..she is my life....you guys dont know anything about us...i was also responsible thats why she left....'
Ben defensively show his hand 'chill dude im just stating a fact like you i dont talk under the bush..we are clear to each other thats why we are best friends...im just saying your mom and me are worried about you...have you seen yourself lately how wounded up you are, how you snipped and got angry so much...and look it yourself you lost so much of weight like you havent eaten properly for months...'
Drew pinched his nose he understand that his family and friends are worried for him and he is grateful to have them in his life but telling him his flaws are too much to bear 'Ben you know why im like this..and secondly i eating well I fired my housekeeper again so takeouts are usually my dinners and sometime im so tired to even order something'
Ben and drew were walking to the streets now and ben laughed 'cause you are workaholic and you need to relax and take your stress out in some other things rather then gym (when drew pass him a confused look, ben explained) i mean you need to get laid ...find some chick have fun like we use to do in college days' he winked
Drew glared him and was slightly embarrassed about his lack of sex....which is quite strange for a insatiable man like him.. 'Ben for God sake stop it...and where the hell we are going.' he said when he saw the local cafe crowded with college students and youngster
Ben lose his tie to get some air 'the best cafe in town now...come you will love it'
Drew arrogantly said 'im not going to such place which is crowded with youngster and teenage drama s**t ..we are going to some good classy place'
Ben huffed 'God ...drew dont be a snob...its closer to office thats why we are here...'
Drew was pissed and tired so he kept quite to lose his s**t and just follow his friend....like he said it was really crowded and drew pass ben a look of " i told you"
Ben make fun of him 'come on princesses i will find you a perfect spot so that your feet stop getting sore while standing'
Drew growled that made his friend laughed loudly
When the found the corner spot they decided to order grilled chicken sandwich with green tea......Drew was still looking at the menu when he heard the sweet angelic voice 'Hello gentlemen ...Im Anna and i will be your server today'
Drew was stun and awe struck by that voice.
