[Chapter 16: Attack] •>>———∘◦❁◦∘———(Elora / Brianna) Surprisingly, after six days of completely harmless pranks, it stopped. I don't know why but after those six school days and our one weekend, the pranking stopped and I was left wondering if it was done with intent to warn me about staying away from 'him' or it was just to make fun of me and to piss me off. Or maybe she knew that the principal was finally involved and got scared? Or she got tired of me not reacting the way she wanted? Either way, I don't care. Just as long as it stopped and my life is peaceful again then I'm not gonna bother. But it's still weird. I wonder what's her real intention? And who is she? Uggh! My brain hurts from racking up to much answers!! I shook my head. I gotta spend this one school-free day productively and not waste my time on useless unanswerable thoughts. With that thought in mind, I focused on my reading.  I'm currently in the Academy's library intending to read for the whole day. I think it's really interesting how different planet Allea is on Earth. Not just the vast difference in the timeline but their customs and traditions as well. I don't know if it's just Arcane Academy but instead of five school days, we have six. It's still the same as Earth regarding the number of weeks and months just different names, which I forgot ( "つ_– ) Anyways, if you put it in Earth's term, Monday to Saturday is a school day and Sunday is a school-free day.  On this school-free day of mine, I decided to read books in the library. There are still some topics regarding planet Allea that I am curious about, and since I spent the first few days of my time here reading books about customs and traditions I haven't yet explored the topic of other species on this planet. And those species I am talking about are the demi-humans and beasts. I read like one book about them but it didn't give much details, just a few things about them like their history and what their life is like living as a different specie; the troubles they faced of being a different breed and the advantages they have of being the way they are. Today, I am reading separate books about them which I think would give me much interesting information that I want.  Among the two species, I am much more fascinated by beasts since demi-humans are basically just humans born with animalistic traits, they don't transform, unlike beasts.  One interesting thing about beasts is that they have certain foods only their species would be able to take. I mean beasts already are a specie but there are sub-species since there are different beasts. Like vampires, mermaids, goblins, and whatnot. They're technically just Earth's folklore that could transform as a human. Beasts in this place are much more different than the folkloric stories I learned on Earth. Like how mermaids live up to 300 years before passing away by turning into seafoam, they aren't like that here. Mermaids live the same lifespan as ordinary humans and do not transform into seafoam when they die. Like what bs is that? Even I don't understand why Earth's folklore is like that -_- Another folkloric species that is different in the two worlds is Werewolves. Werewolves here do not have mates or moon goddess-chuchu like what the stories in Earth made people believe. They're just normal humans that have ears and tails when in human form but they can also transform into werewolves. Their tail and ears are what makes them noticeable as a beast. That's why back in the early 100s, werewolves weren't safe from the torturous mistreatment beasts received even though they were still very much like humans if not for their ears and tail. Demi-humans are also mistreated back in the day cause they resemble beasts greatly, but not as much as what beasts receive. Only one species are somewhat safe from mistreatment, and those are fanged-beasts or also known as vampires on Earth. You wouldn't know if they are a beast unless you see their incisors. One thing that is different about them from the Earth's folkloric teachings is that they don't live an eternal life, they can walk in sunlight, and they can be seen in mirrors. There is also one interesting fact about vampires that Earth's folklore doesn't have. And that is linking.  A vampire can receive its fullest strength if one were to drink human blood. But there is also a risk in doing that. If vampires drank blood from humans then they would always long for that blood, they wouldn't be able to survive long if they don't drink that blood again after a week and would eventually die. They'd be linked to the person the blood they drank from; that's what the link means. Sounds too much but it's the truth, that's why vampires don't just snatch random humans in the street to drink their blood unlike what the stories on Earth say. Vampires with human lovers drink from their human and the only way to sever the link is when the human dies. They also can't drink blood other than the one they drank, that's basically suicide since other blood would be like poison to them. The one good thing in the link is that the vampire would be able to sense the human's feelings and can even track their whereabouts, so in any cases of danger then the human is safe. Anyways, moving on. There is one beast that I am most interested in. And that is dragons. They don't have a different name and are just the same as the Earth. The reason why I am interested in them is that they are the strongest beast among all the other beasts and also the fact that they are debated whether they are real or not. Their strength is simply immeasurable. And even if they transform into their human form, their strength would still be intact just as much as their beastly form. The only thing is, there aren't many dragons recorded in history, and even the recorded ones are presumed to be myths. Even the dragon itself is considered a myth. Well, some consider them as myths and some don't. The minority is the latter one. The reason why there aren't many dragons is that their form can't be passed down one generation after the other. It says that there is a large gap in years before one could receive the dragon form. So the offspring of the dragon will just carry the dragon's blood until the certain amount of years they can manifest is met. It says that the reason for that is kinda like hibernation or.. recharging? So basically, the reason why the dragon offspring has immeasurable strength is because of the years the dragon blood rested and recharged. Kinda like that. There are no recorded history of two people in the family being dragons and that is mostly the reason why some of them are outcast from the family. They are after all the only different from the family. Their indication of eye color is gold with a black slit in the center and there is no way to hide them whatsoever. What an interesting specie. Hmm, I hope I have the dragon blood so in any case I do get pregnant in the future, then I can have dragon babies mwehehehe. "What is that creepy look for." I jumped slightly from my seat and looked up at Elijah. I glared playfully at him and rolled my eyes when he chuckled. "What are you doing here?" I asked. "To read, what else would I be doing here?" He asked with a sly smirk and I squinted my eyes at him. "Har har very funny. When did you ever learn to become sarcastic?" I asked with furrowed brows and he just shrugged. We were quiet after that so I resumed my reading. "What are you reading?" He asked after a few minutes of silence and I looked up to meet his gaze. I shrugged, "Dragons." His eyes widened amusingly at that. "What makes you want to read about them?" He asked curiously. "I dunno. They're just interesting to me. Oh, and also cool." I said my eyes sparkling as I imagined their beastly form. "I hope I can meet a dragon, but that is only wishful thinking since I don't even know if they are real or not."  "Yeah, they are considered as a myth after all." He zoned out after that and I didn't bother him as I continued to read again. "But if you were to get hurt by them due to their overwhelming power... Would they still be cool just as you have perceived them to be?" He suddenly asked making me look up to him and I saw no expression on his face. "Hmm.. it did say dragons have overwhelmingly immeasurable strength, and about your question, it depends how or why the dragon hurt me. Considering how they have super strong strength must mean that they can't control their strength as well. They can hurt me unintentionally for all I know." I explained, "And the reason why I find them cool and interesting is because of their strength, abilities, and basically just their whole history so I won't get scared nor would I feel like I want to avoid them just because they hurt me once."  "Wow, I didn't expect that kind of answer." He said with genuine shock. "Well, I really want to meet one is all." I gave him a cheeky grin. "What would you do if you were to meet one then?" He asked with raised brows and I shrugged. "I dunno. I would probably ask for a ride." He laughed at that. "So you're telling me that the reason why you're so interested in them is because of their strength and that they can fly?" He asked with a chuckle. "Yup.." ..and also the fact that there are no dragons on Earth, so seeing one with my own two eyes would really be a memorable experience for me. "Well that and other thing too." I said after some thought and he just nodded, "Anyways, what about you? You seem to know some things about them?"  "Well just like you, I also find them really interesting so I've been reading a few books about them." He said and my eyes widened at that. "Oh wow, I didn't know you read." "Pfft.. was that suppose to be sarcastic or something?" He chuckled. "No, its just that.." ..it didn't mention in the book that you read, and even the fact that dragons even exists in this world for that matter.   "What? Its just what?" He asked with raised eyebrow and I shook my head with an embarrassed smile. Come to think of it, the book doesn't really dive deep onto the character's feelings and personal lives; remaining persistently on 3rd person's POV is all. It didn't even mention anything about having dragons. It just focuses on Elijah and Angelina's journey of becoming a couple and them getting rid of the villainess, which is the body I am in. The more I think about it, I have little to no advantage just because I read the story since one: I've read it long ago, and two: it wasn't at all descriptive when it comes to the character's thoughts. So really, I've spent all this time thinking about the plot, failing to realize that the plot has long been changed ever since my arrival since the thoughts and feelings of not only the main characters, but also the background characters, are changing cause of me. But you know what? I'm not at all that worried about the plot changing entirely. I've gotten myself comfortable long ago and I'm not about to just switch perspective now. This is also a very good thing since the villainess of the story is gone therefore eliminating all future troubles and disturbances.  My life would be peaceful since I AM the supposed villainess.  ... .... ...... Was what I thought, but I was too naïve at the time to figure out that life isn't as simple as it seems. >> • <<
