[Chapter 8: Princess?!!] •>>———∘◦❁◦∘———(3rd Person's POV) "You know.. people are gonna get the wrong idea if we go inside like this." Vandryk spoke after a few minutes of silence. Elora couldn't help but roll her eyes. 'Here we go again with these people's weak judgements.' She thought just thinking about the customs here that are very much different from her world makes her go all bitter. "Who cares! Have them think what they want. I could kick their asses down for all I care!" Elora grumbled and Vandryk only laughed. "Are you sure you're supposed to be speaking like that?" Vandryk said while chuckling. "And why not? Is there any particular reason that I'm not allowed to speak vulgar and curse these people out??" Elora asked with raised eyebrows. "I don't know. You look like a very respectable lady. Are you some noble of a highest degree?? You look very pretty as well." He assumed, mumbling the last part, but Elora still heard it. "You think I'm pretty??" Elora chuckled when she saw Vandryk's blush-filled face. "Uhh-no--" "Why thank you! I think you look rather fine yourself." She teased and Vandryk only grumbled, eventually just going along with it as well. "What do you mean fine?! I can say that I am very handsome and dashing than some other people!" He spoke in a haughty way. "What do you mean handsome and dashing??" Elora muttered, repulsiveness evident on her tone. "Hey! Why are you saying it like that!?!" Elora only laughed and soon Vandryk joined in with her. Elora refused to say it but she did find Vandryk rather handsome, with his dirty white hair that almost seemed grey along with his icy blue eyes. Everyone would fall for his looks, is what she thought. "Why were you even there outside? Who beat you up??" Elora inquired and suddenly Vandryk had a dark look on his face remembering the events that occurred that led him up to this predicament. "Its nothing... Why were YOU outside??" Vandryk asked passing the question back to Elora. Elora figured that he might not want to tell her the reason so she simply just brushed it off as a means of respecting Vandryk's privacy. "I was just taking a tour around the Academy. Wouldn't wanna get lost when classes start next week y'know?" Elora shrugged but Vandryk had his eyes wide open. "Tour?? You mean you're new here?!!" "Uh.. yeah." Elora muttered with furrowed brows, "Why? Is it a big deal?" "Uh-no.. just surprised is all. So from what family are you? You didn't answer my question earlier." Vandryk asked. "Oh.. I'm uh--just from a.... simple.. commoner bloodline.. I guess." She lied. She didn't want to tell him of her royal status. Just from analyzing other people earlier, she knows that almost everyone mocked her and assumed that she was a lowly commoner just because she wasn't acting all 'ladylike'. She knows very well that those people would change once they find out that she was a princess so she thought it was like that in both ways — she didn't want Vandryk to change once he finds out that she's a princess, she wants him to act just normally around her and not treat her like some godly deity. 'Uggh!! Why was I even reincarnated as a princess?!! This is t*****e!!!' She thought in exasperation while sighing. Their relationship right now makes her feel nostalgic to her friends back to her old world. 'Speaking of world... I wonder what's happening there right now....' She pondered. "Uh.. where should I take you?" Elora asked after a few minutes of silence. "You can just drop me off at the--" "There you are!!" Her eyes widened when she came face to face with Antonella, and then right at the other corner came Alistair with a few people following him behind. "El--" Elora looked at Alistair with a dark look and thankfully Alistair got the message she was trying to portray so he shut his mouth closed. Even if nobody knew the looks of the princess, a great sum of people still knew of her name. Not only does her name catch attention by how long and pretty it is, but she's also quite famous by the bad rumors from her past misdeeds as well. Well, as famous as an incoherent rumor can get. "Princess." Elora closed her eyes at what Antonella had said. "Princess??" Everyone that heard this snapped their attention to them. "Princess?" Vandryk looked at Elora with questioning eyes. "What's going on here?!" A demanding voice boomed from behind them and Elora's eyes snapped back open. "Princess!" She exclaimed and now everyone had their eyes on the newcomer. "Why is there a commotion in the middle of the hall??" Said the girl with strawberry blonde hair and iridescent magenta eyes. She had a light blue dress on with bright jewels adorned on it, and the Sequoia kingdom's royalty crest was the only indication that she was a princess. The men bowed before her, while the women curtsied, she only nodded in acknowledgement and turned her attention back to the huddling group. "So? Mind telling me why everyone is crowding the hallway?" She asked her patience slowly slipping away. Elora was too busy in admiring her though since she was really pretty but the princess thought of it as rude, because staring for too long at a royalty is considered rude in their customs. But it seems that Elora has forgotten this despite her being adamant a few days ago to learn and treasure some of their customs at heart. But she just couldn't help staring at the beauty. "And you!" She snapped pointing her pointer finger towards Elora and Vandryk who still had his arm on her shoulder. "Showing public display of affection despite being a minor is one thing! But gaping at a princess and crowding the halls is another matter!!" By now, Elora's face is beet red due to embarrassment. It was only now that he had got what Vandryk had meant when he said earlier that people are gonna misunderstand them. She should've listened but it was too late now. Everyone was whispering so she quickly shoved Vandryk's arm out of her shoulder, not realizing that Vandryk was still leaning his weight on her, making him fall to the ground. "Uh- I-Its not what it looks--" "You're new here aren't you..?" Elora's eyes widened but she nodded her head slowly. "It's obvious. You obviously don't know anything about the rules here. Did you even attend the ceremony earlier?!" Elora bowed her head slightly in shame. She shouldn't have toured around the place. She remembered the importance of the ceremony earlier and promised to attend it, but when she met up with Vandryk again, she completely forgot. The princess looked at her from head to toe, noticing her simple black and white dress, and how her black shoes were almost chapped — probably by how she ran so much when those shoes aren't meant for running — but the princess assumed that it was used and already worn-out. "Don't flaunt your stupidity around commoner. Don't add more things to the student council's plate." She huffed and finally walked past them, the surrounding students walked aside for the princess to go through. Elora felt bad. 'I guess I really should practice their culture and customs here huh?' She thought with her head still bowed down. But then she remembered the predicament she was in and so she slipped away without any of them noticing. 'But no! Haha! I'll be fabulously chaotic. Mwahahhahahha!!!' She grinned while stealthily running away, dismissing her previous thought. "Hey! Ella!" She heard Vandryk call from afar but she was far too gone now to turn back. 'Uggh! Can't that noisy Antonella just keep quiet?! I don't really want to deal with hypocrites now just because of my status!!' She grumbled but as she turned the corner, she bumped into someone making her fall to the ground. "Watch where you're go--" The guy looked at Elora in shock, immediately recognizing her. "Sorry!" Elora muttered and was about to run away when the man grabbed her by the arm. She looked at the guy with furrowed brows and questioning eyes, noticing his purple hair and black eyes. 'What the hell?!' "You're coming with me." The guy said with a stern voice filled with authority. She couldn't do anything but protest as the guy started dragging her away with a firm grasp. She wanted to break out of his grasp but as strong as she thinks she is, she's no match with the guy's strong hold. "Hey! What are you doing?! Who even are you?!! And where are you taking me??" She fired questions at the guy who didn't even spare her a glance. Suddenly, she was being pushed to a room and then all people was looking at them. She looked around with furrowed brows, noticing how the room looked like an office room only with students instead of adults. Some were at their respective desks, others were grouped together while talking, while others were at a separate table while eating. "What the he--" "What's going on here?" A girl then came up to the guy. "She's the delinquent I was telling you about!" He snapped, sending a glare to Elora. "Delinquent?!" Elora scoffed, obviously offended. "When have I ever done something illegal and immoral, Mr. Grapes-looking-guy?!!!" Elora glared at the purple haired guy with crossed arms. "Excuse me?! Grapes?!! Who are you calling grapes you-- y-you brat!!" "Brat? Oh really?? Is that the best you can do??" Elora smirked mockingly with her hands on either side of her hips. The purple-haired guy felt a vein pop in his head but he resisted the urge to snap the woman in half. "Why you--" "President." The girl suddenly said with a bow making the purple haired guy turn towards the door. "What's going on here?" The newcomer said as he stared at the people blocking the doorway. "Where have you been?" The purple guy asked. "I was informed that there were fighting at the hallway that involved the vice president so I went to check it out. But when I went there, it already died down." He explained. Elora's face twitched with a knowing look for a second but it was gone before anyone of them could notice. "What about you? Why are you blocking the--" He stopped mid-sentence when he noticed Elora. His brows shot up and he couldn't help the grin that formed on his face. "Oh? Its you." He said. "Right?! Its that brat who bumped into us and didn't even apologize!" The purple guy said. "How do you guys know me? And when did I even bump into you?!! If I bumped into someone, I wouldn't hesitate apologizing if it was my fault. Maybe its your eyes tricking you!" Elora argued. "My eyes tricking me?!! How is that even possible?! I was with him and we both saw you, you--" "What? You brat?? Well, I don't care you grapes!!" By now they were both growling at each other like dogs fighting over one territory. You can easily imagine a laser forming from each of their eye. The president only stared at them, crossed arms, with an amused expression on his face. The girl that came up to them was long gone and you can easily see the amused faces everyone in the room has on theirs. It wasn't a surprise to them that Alfonse was a noisy person, and would fight over what he thinks is right. What got them surprised and amused was that someone would actually have the energy and guts to speak up to him. Arguing with Alfonse leads to nowhere since he always wins the argument, so most people would just leave mid conversation with a huff. But this time around, it seems that Alfonse is finally getting the taste of his own medicine. 'Who is this brazen girl?' They thought. "Enough bickering you children." The president said breaking the ice. "Children?!!" Both Alfonse and Elora snapped with an offended tone, turning their glaring faces to the president, but when they realized that they both said it at the same time, they were back on each other's throats. The president sighed. "You. I need to talk to you." He said while pointing at Elora. "Thank goodness! Tell her off. God, this girl's noisy." Alfonse said in exasperation. 'Your one to talk.' Everyone thought with an amused grin, some even shaking their heads. "Your one to talk you hypocrite." Elora voiced out their thoughts making them look at her with wide eyes. Some were already laughing at this point, while others just held it in. "Why you--" He was cut short when the president swiftly grabbed Elora by the arm and pulled her outside. But before Elora could fully get out, she stuck her tongue out in a mocking way that would surely piss Alfonse off for weeks. The door shut and Elora could hear the muffled grumbling sound Alfonse made that clearly amused her. "Kekeke.. how gullible." Elora muttered almost inaudible for the president to not hear. Almost. Soon they were inside the academy's greenhouse, the president finally letting go of her to walk behind her as she walked around with wide eyes while admiring the place. "I'll cut straight to the point." The president started. "I'm gonna warn you now to stop disobeying the Academy rules and regulations. Do you even know what disobeying those would cost you?" Elora turned around and looked at the president with crossed-arms. "And what rules did I break?" She sassily replied. "Running around the halls, not attending the transferee ceremony, causing a scene in the hallway." The president stated making her widen her eyes at the last part. "And who are you to threaten me?" "I am not threatening you. Just simply warning you--" "Same thing." "--and if you really want to know who I am, then fine. I am the president of the student council, in case you don't know, the student council is the Academy's organization who's purpose is to manage students like you." "What do you mean like me?! And I know what a student council is you smart-a*s!" She grumbled. 'Obviously I know it. We have those in Earth!' "Those." The president started, turning his back on Elora with a smirk on his face as he pretended to find the nearby flowers interesting. "Those are the things that would get you in trouble. Its a good thing that it's just me who's telling you these. You're lucky its not the principal whose confronting you right now... princess." Elora's eyes widened but the president didn't see this due to his back turned. "What do you mean those? And who are you calling princess??" She replied casually as if the mere 'princess' word itself didn't scare her. The president turned around with his hand held up. His pointer and thumb outward, pinching a small gold crest that made Elora widen her eyes. Slowly, she raised her hand to touch the underneath of her collar and when she felt it empty her eyes only widened in horror even more. "Uh- uhm.." She didn't know what to say. 'Ugh! I forgot about papa insisting for me to wear that! I willed myself to take it off once arriving at the dorm, how could I forget?!!' 'Should I beg him not to expose me? What should I do??' Elora's mind brimmed with thoughts. 'Or should I try choking him and snatch my crest instead?' She contemplated on what to do but alas she had settled on a coy play. "Alfonse?! What the heck are you doing here??" She asked with furrowed brows as she stared behind the president's back. As soon as the president turned around to look behind him, Elora dashed to snatch her crest in his hand. But as if sensing something foreboding, the president whipped around and held his hand up high, causing Elora to tackle him to the ground instead. They both fell with a thump. The president laying on the ground while Elora laid on top of him. "Aggh... get off me." The president said clutching his hand tight when Elora tried to snatching her crest back. "No! Give me my crest first!!" She said getting up only to straddle him in the process. 'I'm so gonna get screwed once brother Ali finds out I don't have that!! Maybe I can get away with papa, but with brother Ali.. especially brother Art!! Oh! That strict brother of mine who doesn't even bat an eye at my cuteness! I didn't even notice that it wasn't on me! Uggh! How can I be so careless?!!' "What are you doing?!" The president said, using his other arm to cover his face while the other was clenched tightly. He was blushing like crazy at their compromising position but Elora didn't seem to care. Just one flutter of her dress, then the president would be able to see what's underneath. "This position is compromisingly obscene you uneducated woman!!" The president roared and pushed her away as hard as he could, not too hard to make her hit her head, just enough so that he'd be able to get up from the misleading position they were in. Once the president was standing, Elora got up as well but instead on her feet, she got up on her knees. "Please!" She practically begged as she clasped the back of both of the president's knees. The president stared at her in shock as he started backing away, but Elora continued crawling towards him while begging. "Please! I'm begging you, don't tell this to anyone!!" She begged but the president stepped back far enough for her to lose balance and let go. She now had both her hands on the soil ground, her head bowed down as her tears fell like dripping faucet on the ground. "Please.." Her voice wavered as she cried. The president didn't know why she was crying. Just for a simple crest, crying was too extreme. And its not like he was gonna steal it. "What do you want me to not tell anyone?" He asked. He honestly don't have the slightest inkling of what she was talking about. Elora stood up to her feet and looked at him dead in the eyes. She didn't even bother dusting off her dirty self as she stared at the president with glossy pleading eyes. "Don't tell anyone that I am the princess." She muttered, sniffling and wiping her nose. "Why?" The president asked with furrowed brows, "Wait.. don't tell me you don't want anyone to know that an uneducated woman as you is actually a princess?!" The president scoffed. "Well, kinda makes sense. But why don't you just obey the rules instead of keeping your status a secret to not let anyone know of your ugly side??" He asked baffled but Elora only looked at him with a deadpan expression. "Are you stupid?" By now her tears had stopped and she felt herself slowly becoming irritated on having to face this people's insights on status and education. She was educated, alright. Having to finish college and getting a degree; she just wasn't acting like how the women here would. But that doesn't mean she was uneducated! "I don't care about that! I just don't want to gather attention. Its much better to deal with them looking at me in disdain rather than facing their hypocrite selves. Once they know I'm the princess, do you really think they'd still act the way they do now? No! They'll put up a nice act front just so they'd get the favor of the princess." She ranted, saying the word 'princess' with disdain. The mere word itself giving her stress that even the president didn't fail to notice. 'Whoah!... I didn't expect to hear that..!' The president thought in shock. He was baffled at the same time amazed by how Elora thought of things. He thought that everyone of those with high status were greedy and superior just like his older brother. But this girl... even though she was a princess and could very much use her status in different ways for her advantage, she chose to let everyone think poorly of her just so she'd be able to see their true selves. She was right. Most people would put up a facade just to win the favor of those with high status. What she chose to do was a smart move but would also take a lot of courage since you'd be downgrading yourself for it. But to think that she, who's a princess, wouldn't think twice to make a fool of herself, was really admirable for the president. He admired her for her courage and honesty. Just from the fire burning in Elora's eyes, he could see just how she despised being lied to. Or rather, she despised the hypocrisy in the customs of planet Allea. There was still hypocrisy in Earth, but since she knows better, she can see right through their acts. Because who wouldn't wanna get close to the princess right? "So please... just.. just don't tell anyone. I'll read the rules, I'll stop running, and even go as far as act as some noble lady.. well for some parts." She bargained and this snapped the president out of his thoughts. "No," The president said after much thought, "you don't have to do that." Elora's brows furrowed. "In fact, just go do whatever you want!" What he said confused Elora but she remained silent and observing as the president started walking closer to her. Then the president stretched his hand and on instinct Elora reached out, only for her to catch the crest that had fallen out of the president's hold. She looked up at the president, her brows twisted in confusion. But what shocked her is that, the president was smiling. HE WAS SMILING as if he found the situation amusing!! "W-what do you mean? Just a few seconds ago, you were so adamant to let me follow the rules and now you want me to do whatever I want?! Make up your mind you airhead!" She snapped but instead of scolding her, the president only grinned even wider. "I don't care. Just don't cost too much trouble." He said and turned around to walk away. 'I know I'm the president and shouldn't tolerate on rash behaviors, but just thinking of what would occur because of her crude demeanor somehow makes me excited. I feel like this boring school would finally have some fun with her around.' The president thought with a devilish grin on his face as he walked away from Elora with both hands on the pockets of his trousers. "I'll see you around." Was the last thing he said before leaving a dazed and stupefied Elora. "What just happened?" She asked herself, dumbfounded, once the president was gone. She looked back at her hand and clutched it tightly just to make sure she wasn't imagining things and that the president really did gave her back her crest. 'But that easy?' She thought still confused. 'What's the catch?' She shook her head and just decided to dwell on it later. Elora looked down on herself only to notice her soiled clothes and she couldn't help but remember the events that had transpired just a few seconds ago. "Well that was embarrassing..." She said aloud, only now does her face start to blush from embarrassment. 'I didn't expect for him to give me my crest so easily. What made him change his mind??' She thought to herself as she started walking towards her room so that she could have a nice warm bath. 'Why does it seem like I'm forgetting something important..?... like really, REALLY, important... eh! I'll just worry about it later.' ∘◦❁◦∘ 'AAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!' 'How the heck can I forget?!!!' Elora had just been done with her warm bath and is sitting at her study table, the notes she had written on her first day at planet Allea were sitting at her desk as she stared at it with horror in her eyes. There on the paper read: Elijah Heisenberg; male protagonist - President of the student council committee - Soon to be duke in name - WORST future tormentor 'How could I only realize this now that the president I had met earlier was actually my s******c tormentor aka the male lead of the story!! AAAAHHHHH!!!!' Its true that Elora is slowly starting to not get scared of the terrible future awaiting for her, since she was now confident that those won't happen since she wasn't acting like how the original Elora should therefore messing up the whole plot of the story. But since she knows how the duke would torment her on the future, he's capabilities is what makes her scared. She can still remember the graphic explanation in the novel on how Elijah ordered no immediate execution on her since he wanted her to get tortured and experience all the pain she had put the female lead to— and a hundred times worse at that. Elora shivered at the thought. Despite being a human, the way he handles his enemies is alarmingly inhumane. Its as if he had this natural beast instinct, feeling no remorse to those who he had tormented, while the only thing on his mind is to anguish those who had wronged the ones he cared about. And that is, Angelina Cyril, the female lead of the story. Of course even if Elora meets the female lead, she's not gonna do the things the original Elora had done on her. Instead, she'd even try to befriend her and be a sideline supporter in her and the duke's relationship; that is her plan. According to the notes she had written, it didn't say anything about Alfonse. She doesn't remember much in the story, as if everything is all muddled together now. That is also the reason why she had forgotten about the duke aka principal of the student council committee. She continued to study her notes further and another thing shocked her. There on the paper, just below Elijah's name read: Vandryk Falcor Cullen; 2nd male protagonist - snarky vampire - future tormentor Her eyes were wide as saucers. 'What..? I thought there wasn't any Vandryk in the story?? That's the reason why I had befriended him in the first place!' She stared at the paper in shock. The ink wasn't lying and it was indeed written that Vandryk's there. Why she thought Vandryk wasn't in the story? She didn't know. All she know is that she needed air to breathe right now, especially now that she was feeling the arising throb of a headache. She walked slowly towards the door when she felt her head started throbbing immensely in pain. She thought she was just thirsty and decided to go to the cafeteria to get a glass of cold water. But as soon as she opened the door, her eyes rolled back, the pain in her head overcoming her as she felt herself falling to the ground. But before she could even drift out of consciousness, she noticed a blurry figure by the door that kneeled down to check up on her but due to her blurry and darkening vision she didn't get to see who it was. >> • <<
