[Chapter 13: Quality time] •>>———∘◦❁◦∘———(Elora / Brianna) My eyes opened and I shot up from my laying position when I remembered that I had unintentionally fallen asleep at the infirmary. I looked to my side and saw that the sky was already orange. Uggh! Great! I haven't once stayed up late in this Academy. I'm quite nervous to say the least. I don't want a repeat of what happened at the alley back at my previous life— although it's a lil questionable that something like that would happen at a school —but your girl still gotta be cautious, cause you never know! I got up from the bed and attempted to search for a healing cream again. It wasn't hurting anymore but I still needed to put something since I know that the pain would come back sooner or later. I searched inside boxes, on cabinets and even the nurse's desk drawers. I found some cream that had weird names and I tried searching my brain for whatever it meant but then cursed Elora for not reading much. I haven't read anything about medical since I focused on finding out about the Kingdoms. And the only thing I can remember out of Elora's memories is her bullying people. -_- I gave up after sulking on the floor for a whole 3 minutes and finally decided to just leave my cheek be. Its not like I haven't been used to it already. I walked mindlessly on the halls and thought of the events that happened moments ago. What an eventful day this truly is. And I haven't even passed one whole week yet. *sighs* I stopped and looked around when I realized that I just went in a circle and literally came back to the infirmary after half an hour of walk. Yes. That's how big this school is. I looked out the window and saw that the sky was dark. As in really, really dark now!! I heard howling outside and I hugged myself when I felt a cold breeze past me. This is spooky. But exciting!! I miss haunted houses and horror booths on theme parks. Those stuffs was a blast especially after hearing all the girls scream like it's their time to die kekeke. What a funny memory that truly is. I walked along the halls and decided to mull myself over my thoughts— about everything that had happened ever since I reincarnated in this world. Honestly, I have this weird feeling that things would get even more eventful at some point in my life. But I can say that I'm slowly starting to get comfortable around here. I got used to the different colored eyes and hair easily, which was really surprising. No offense, I used to watch anime but... it's just different when it's real life. Well, as much as real life another world can be. I stopped in my tracks and looked around when I realized that I went on a loop.. AGAIN. "Dammit!" Ugh!! Okay, this time I'm not even gonna think about anything. Just walk straight forward... turn left.. keep going straight.. and.... wait, what's that noise? I stopped dead in my tracks when I heard something. Murmuring...? I peeked around the corner and saw someone. I couldn't exactly see who it was since they had a cloak on, but I could most definitely see their hands stretched forward and it was glowing. Wait?? What kind of harry potter voodoo s**t is going on here???? The person then whipped their head around startling me. And when I saw their eyes glowing a bright color of white, I shrieked and ran off. I barely took notice the sign at the top that says 'Girls' Dormitory'. Great!! I just witnessed a cursing voodoo s**t AND I wouldn't be able to go back to the safe confinement of my room. And wait!! Is he following me?!!! I heard footsteps, and like the fool I am, whipped my head around to see a man chasing me. His eyes aren't glowing white anymore but I could hear him muttering something. Probably a cur– AAHH!!! I fell off the stairs. I need to remind myself to never look back when someone is chasing you! Ugh!! I knew he was chasing me from the sound of his footsteps, but I'm stupid and needed confirmation with my own two eyes and that was my downfall– literally. I wasted no time in standing up and running down the stairs. The adrenaline was rushing through me and so maybe that's why the fall didn't hurt that much. But I was pretty sure I would be bearing the pain sooner than later. I ran up again using the other stairs and I went towards the hallway that had the sign 'Boys' dormitory'. I kept running and just as I turned around the corner, I so happen to see someone about to get out of their room. How convenient! I made a quick peek behind, and when I saw no cloaked-a*s figure, I dived towards the man that was about to get out of his room. "Whoah!" He muttered and we both fell down the floor. I got up and closed his door and switched the lock shut. I looked back and my eyes widened when I saw Elijah. He was looking at me with wide eyes as well and then he suddenly blushed for no reason and got up from his laying position down the floor. "What are you doing here in my room?!!!!" He said in a panic voice. Why though? "Get out!!" He barked and I shook my head no. He was about to say something when I pushed him on the wall and covered his mouth with my right hand, I then used my other hand to hold a pointer finger up and place it in front of my lips in a 'shush' motion. I strained my ears to listen, and as if on cue, I heard footsteps running past the door. I waited and counted ten seconds before finally loosening my hold on Elijah while sighing in relief. That was a close call... I looked towards Elijah to see him stunned and in a daze. I stepped away and scratch the back of my neck. "Sorry bout that..." I muttered and he suddenly held my wrist and forced me to walk towards the door. "Get out! You're not supposed to be in the boys' dormitory, and inside one of the room at that." He said and was about to open the lock when my eyes widened and I held his hand to stop him. "NOO!! Please don't!!" I begged him, "I'm scared..." I looked at him with pleading eyes and he seemed taken aback by whatever reason. "Okay.... just.. don't cry." He said which made me shocked at the same time confused. I reached up to my eyes, "I'm not cry--" I muttered but stopped when I felt my eyes wet. I quickly wiped them away and that's when Elijah stepped away from me. He coughed and I looked away from him from embarrassment of him seeing me cry. Eww! I never cry! Over something so trivial, why would I cry?!! I didn't even cry when I died. Boohoo I saw some harry potter cursing s**t, so what? I coughed when it was getting too silent for my liking and Elijah finally snapped out of his flustered state and asked, "So what happened? And who was that chasing you..?" "Uh.." I started and thought about the things I saw. Thinking about it now, someone chasing you isn't something I'd get scared so easily. But that guy had powers! And I'm nothing but a mere powerless woman– like literally. And I already died.. I don't wanna die again... "Hey are you okay?" I looked up to see a worried looking Elijah and I shook away the thoughts before nodding, "Sit here for a moment." Elijah lead me to the sofa that was right by the window and I sat down. "So..?" "There was some harry potter voodoo shi--" I stopped when I saw him looking at me with furrowed brows due to confusion. I laughed in my head when I saw him looking like he saw someone crazy— which I must've looked like right now. I took a shaky breath in and looked at him dead in the eyes. "There was some weird looking dude in a black cloak that was in the girls' dormitory a few moments ago. He was muttering some words under his breath.. and now that I think about it... it kinda looked like he was casting a spell with the way his eyes were glowing white." I said to him and he held his chin using his fingers while his elbow was resting on his other arm that was folded. He was deep in thought for a few minutes that I decided to occupy myself by looking around his room. His room was very spacious. And his bed is really huge too. The sheets were gold, an interesting color since I didn't peg him for someone who'd like the color gold. He seemed more of a dark-bluish type. But then again, it's not like I can read minds or anything. The door was right across from the sofa I was sitting at. The bed was at my right side and my back was facing against the window. The left side of the room had a small kitchen on its right corner while the other one had a door that probably lead to his closet or something. We didn't have bathrooms in our bedroom and thinking about it now made me realize that this world had some similarities back at my old world as well. "That's pretty weird.. Did you see what he looked like? His hair color or something?" He asked and I looked back at him. "Uhm.. I didn't get to focus on anything except his eyes since I was pretty busy on not getting caught by him." He sighed at that, "But I remember him being about your height!" I exclaimed and he nodded his head. "Mmkay.. but that doesn't lead us much to anything. Let's see..." He started walking back and forth, "casting a spell you say?" He stopped to look at me and I nodded. "Ah! Did you see what part of the girls' dormitory he was at? Or rather.. what room he was standing by at?" He said and I furrowed my brows as I thought back at the events that took place. "Uh.. I couldn't quite remember what room number it was but he was near the entrance of the girls' dorm. I remember about to turn left since my room was at that direction but I stopped when I heard muttering, and that's where he was!" I said and he nodded his head and stopped to look at me. "At the left side near the entrance..." He pondered as he stared at me intently, but even I know that he wasn't really looking at me. His eyes then widened and he stared at me in shock, his mouth opening and closing like a fish before he finally said, "The princess.." My brows furrowed. "The princess? But that's not even my room." "Not you, silly!" He said and I thought for a moment before my brows shot up and my mouth forming an 'o'. "Ohh.. Her Highness of Sequoia Kingdom." I muttered and he nodded his head. "I gotta inform His Royal Highness about this." He said, worry lacing his tone. His brows were frowning as he walked back and forth as he thought deeply about probably the princess of Sequoia Kingdom. Wait.. why is he THAT worried though? Or is he..? "Is she your lover?" I suddenly blurted out loud and I slapped my mouth after that. His eyes snapped back to me and he looked at me with a look of disgust on his face. Why? What now? "Are you kidding me?? She's my cousin!" He exclaimed and I found my mouth forming another 'o' yet again. "Whoops.. hehe my bad." I said with a peace sign. He only shook his head at that and went towards his bed to sit down. A few minutes of silence had gone by and neither one of us spoke. We were occupied with each of our own thoughts; him probably thinking about the cursing voodoo magic involving his cousin, Her Highness, while me thinking about the supposed plot of the story book. But if I think hard enough, it seems that the plot has messed up. But by now, I'm pretty sure that Elijah and Angelina have met already. Elijah was supposed to encounter her walking around the halls when classes are about to start and she left a pretty interesting impression since she wasn't wearing Arcane Academy's school uniform. Or what I'd like to call: a dress. Yup. Our uniform is basically just a dress with a whole lot of design and garment that prevents you from running due to its heavy quality. Lol joke, it's not that heavy. But when I ran earlier, I found it a little bit heavy than the dresses I wear. But then again, I bought my dresses from the local shop at the town square since the fabric and the linen reminded me of the clothes on my past life. I yawned when I suddenly felt sleepy and I found myself resting my back against the soft cushion of the couch. "So what now?" Elijah said and I only looked at him with sleepy eyes, "Are you gonna sleep here?" He asked and I rolled my eyes. "Obviously! I don't want that creepy cloaked-a*s figure catching me!" I said then yawned yet again. That's weird. I slept for a long time back at the infirmary. Am I really that tired and lacking of sleep? "Get out." I snapped my eyes open and I saw Elijah towering over me. "What?" I mumbled, my eyes widening, and I prepared myself to give a 3 paragraph long explanation as to why he's not supposed to kick me out of his room when he pinched the bridge of his nose while grumbling. "Get out of the couch and go sleep in my bed." He muttered, "A princess isn't supposed to sleep in this small impudent couch of mine." He said and I looked at him with furrowed brows. "What? But where will you sleep?" I asked. "On this couch." He said but I shook my head. "What the heck? This is your room so YOU sleep in YOUR bed! Besides, I'm fine with it. I used to sleep on the floor back in my--" "ON THE FLOOR?!!" He exclaimed with wide eyes. Whoops.. thank goodness he cut me short, I almost said 'back in my past life'. Ugh! This big mouth of mine!! "How there your father, His Royal Highness, let you sleep on the floor?!!" He asked and I quickly shook my head. "No. None of my family knows. I used to lock my room to sleep on the floor. But it was all in the past now!" Like literally. I waved my hands as I said that. "But why on the floor though?" He looked totally curious and confused and I mentally shook my head at that. You, who's a Duke, wouldn't know the life of poverty without a mattress. "The bed's too soft." Was my curt reply and he looked at me as if asking if what I said was a joke but I only shrugged in response. Well, that wasn't true. I didn't have a bed and only slept on the floor with a blanket. "Still get ou--" "No. I'm tired so don't argue." I stubbornly said and took my shoes off before positioning myself comfortably. I turned away from him and I only heard him sigh before hearing his footsteps pattering away. It didn't take long for me to start closing my eyes as I slowly drifted out of consciousness. The last thing I felt was a soft thin fabric covering half of my body completely. >> • <<
