My stomach took the mention of food to make a rumbling noise, and I put my hand on my tummy and blushed again.
‘I will take that as a yes. Don’t worry, and the kitchen has plenty of food available. By the time we reach the palace, it will be just after six o’clock, a good time to sit and eat a nice hot meal. The queen is excited about meeting you. I have four boys. One is just a few days older than you. They are also excited about having a sister in the family. One they can tease.’ The king laughed.
‘Teased? Why would they tease me?’ I thought of my sister and her mean friends, and my face paled at the thought of leaving one bully to come to another.
