Emily POV
I stretched and warmed up my body, preparing for the training session. I loved training, taking my body to its limits, and then trying to push a little bit more. For some reason, I felt a sort of tension in the air as others arrived at the training ground and started a warm-up. Something felt off, making me eye each one as they arrived. Wondering why I felt something was amiss, the trainer arrived and asked everyone to do five laps around the training grounds. I took it easy, keeping myself in the middle of the group.
They arrived back, and the trainer shouted.
‘Everyone, get into pairs.’ We seemed to have an odd number of people, and I was without a partner.
