Chapter 3| Dumb pranks

Dale's P.O.V

Practice ended so I walked to my locker to get books for my next class. Once I did that I headed to class with one prayer.

Please let my mate be in this class.

Unfortunately it seemed like my prayers weren't heard.

She wasn't here. I dropped into my seat feeling annoyed for some reason. Let this class just be over already.

After what felt like years, the bell signalling change of period finally rung. Lunch time. With haste, I jumped out of my seat and rushed to the cafeteria hoping my mate would be there.

Surprisingly, she was seated at our lunch table with Bella and Anna.

Tyler who had been beside me all this time, left my side to seat beside his mate. The usually grumpy Anna smiled almost immediately he was beside her.

Of course I took a seat beside mate because..where else? The moment I dropped beside her, she tensed.

"This is Tyler," Bella said gesturing to my best friend "and this is Dale" she said gesturing to me.

"We've met before." my mate said with her sweet voice.

"Oh, great" Bella said with a grin.

"Best friend?" my mate asked Bella

"Tyler." she replied.

"Brother?" my mate asked again

"Dale." Bella answered.

Alexandra sighed and began poking at the food on her plate. At this point, it should be a crime for someone to look this cute while doing the most mundane things.

"Oh Bella, your mom asked us to get some stuff for the pa-.....house after school." Anna turned to Alexandra to see if she noticed her error. Luckily Alexandra seemed absorbed with the food on her plate.

"Oh well, looks like you guys are driving home yourselves." bella sighed. "Do as much as scratch my car, and you're dead." Bella said in a deadly serious tone, facing me. As if I wanted to drive her lame car in the first place

I rolled my eyes at her and she gave me a glare in return.

Shrugging her off, I finished off the food on my plate. My mate on the other hand had barely touched hers. She disposed of her food quickly.

I frowned at her action. She just wasted food

"What class do you have next" Bella asked Alexandra.

"Gym." she replied with a sigh. I narrowed my eye brows at why she seemed bummed. P.E is the class ever. No homework, just sports. Like who didn't like gym?

A smile spread across my lips because I finally had another class with her.

"We have the same class." I said with more excitement than expected. "I'll walk you."

She nodded in agreement and I smiled wider.

We entered a gymnasium and were greeted by our P.E teacher coach Bieste.

"My name is coach Bieste" the woman said facing my mate.

"You must be Alexandra, I presume?" she asked.

Alex nodded.

"There an extra gym wear in the girls locker room over there." she said pointing to a door in a corner "get changed. "

And my mate headed to the room. I patiently waited for her to come out ignoring the coach.

Alex came back out dressed in the school's gym wear but they obviously a couple sizes to big. She looked like she was drowning in the large shirt. It was kinda cute to be honest. She walked over to where the coach was addressing students.

"Just do 4 laps around and you're free to do whatever."

A free day. The announcement brought a smile to my face and I could tell I wasnt the only one happy. Alex also had a smile on her face.

She suddenly bent down to tie her shoe laces and I almost choked. I wasnt prepared for the sight of her butt at that angle. It took me by surprise. While i watched her intently, i suddenly got the feeling that I wasnt the only one staring at her. I was right. I noticed a couple of guys staring as well. A sudden surge of anger built in me but I did my best to reign it down.

This was not the place to shift.

Ah but I felt like punching these dudes in the face.

When everyone started running, I made sure to stay directly behind Alex.

Once she finished her laps, I saw Alex jog to one of the stands. Her eyes looked tired and she was panting really hard.

"Are you okay?" I asked.

"I'm fine, just thirsty" She answered still breathing heavily.

I handed a bottle to her and she hesitantly took it. She put the bottle on her lips and a sudden jolt went through me. Water trickled down the side of her mouth and for the first time in my life, I envied water.

Her lips looked so soft and my mind began to create images of them against mine. Her tongue darted out to lick the water off. How could drinking water be so erotic? It made no sense.

"Thank you." I heard her voice, snapping me out of my trance.

"You're welcome." I replied. Before I finally looked into her eyes.

Green Is now my favourite colour.

I managed to gather the strength to walk away from her. There hasn't been a time I was this flustered around a woman. Even back then. Some guys were doing a push up contest so I decided to join them to clear my head. Maybe I could use this to get Alex's attention.

It wasnt like I was expecting her to look at me, but it was kinda annoying that she didn't.

The bell rung and my mate dashed out of the gym and into the changing rooms. That was the last time I got to see her.

I sighed heavily as I walked out of school. Tyler and I met and he handed me Bella's car keys. We drove home and once I got to my room, I swung my bag to a corner with irritation and fell on my bed face first.

It's not like I could have gone home with Alex, I just met her. But damn I felt frustrated. The need to see her was killing me and we only parted for a couple of hours.

The mutt in my head wasn't helping matters.

"You okay?" Tyler asked, standing at my door frame.

"Ya, just tired" I replied. It didn't feel like the right time to announce meeting my mate.

"You sure?" Tyler pressed on.

"Dude i'm fine I just need a nap." I had intended to sound calm but my words almost came out as a yell. I just want to see Alex.

He stood there looking at me for sometime before he said, "ok" and left.

Why couldn't the moon goddess spare me and made may mate a werewolf. Atleast that way I was sure she'd respond to me as much as I did her. Alex barely noticed me. This is so hard.

I closed my eyes and decided I actually did need a nap.

A loud shout forced me out of sleep.

"Fire!!"

"What!" I exclaimed, confused and still a bit sleepy.

"There's a fire!!" Bella yelled.

I jumped out of bed immediately.

"What about everyone?" I asked panicked. Was everyone safe?

"They're outside" she said grabbing me by the arm. "Lets go."

She pulled me out of my room and that was when I realised that Anna and Tyler where at my door stiffling laughter.

"What the..." I muttered when I didn't smell smoke.

Bella had dropped to the ground laughing.

"You should have seen your face." Tyler said between laughs.

I glared at him

"Actually, you should see yourself." Anna said joining Bella on the floor.

I stormed into the bathroom to check the mirror, only to see my face covered in sharpie drawings.

I had a moustache that looked like the one Mario had. Red circles were drawn around my cheeks to look like blush.

My face had other drawing and words like 'ass' or 'puke face' or whatever.

I mumbled out some curses which I knew they heard because they all started laughing.

I took some soap and began to literally scrub the markers off my face.

After what felt like hours of scrubbing, I finally managed to get most of it out. It was only the moustache that left a light black shade above my lips.

When i came out of the bathroom, the idiots were gone. I stormed downstairs with ire written all over my face.

The idiots burst out laughing as I passed them.

"Woah, who stuffed a stick up his ass?" my aunt Hayden said with a small giggle.

My mom sat in the living room and I moved to join her.

"Where is dad?" I asked

"He's busy doing some Alpha work." she said.

I nodded and sat down on a couch. Bella sat beside me with an innocent smile only to receive a hard glare from me.

"Don't be like that, it was just for fun." she said smiling brightly.

I rolled my eyes at her and stood up, walking to the game room with Bella right on my tail.

Luckily for me i got to see Tyler eating Anna's face off. Usually the sight would've disgusted me but now i could only think of Alex. I imagined myself making out with her and my body grew tense.

"You guys can do that some where not so public, like your room. Come on!" I said making gagging sounds.

Anna looked flushed once she saw Me and Bella standing there. Tyler rolled his eyes at me and picked up a game pad.

I picked the second pad and sat in front of the screen. I noticed Anna and Bella leave the room.

"What the hell dude!" I yelled at Tyler "you were supposed to cover me!"

"I was busy, if you couldn't see!" he yelled back.

"Great, now we have to start from the beginning of the level!" I whined "because of you."

"Me?" he scoffed.

"Yes you!" I scoffed back.

"Okay, shut the f**k up. Both of you!" Anna yelled.

Every where went silent, not even a cricket could be heard.

"Good." she said "now, if I hear a word from any of you involving a game, I will rip both your d***s and stick them on your foreheads."

We both gulped audibly. Anna was scary that way.

Kinda like Alex.

My mate.

Her beautiful emerald orbs, her red hair, her cute petite body, her sexy curves. My perfect mate.

I would be happier if she would just notice me.

"Earth to Dale!" a voice snapped me out of my day dream. I turned to Look at Bella. "Are you okay? You totally zoned out."

"I'm fine, what did I miss?" I asked.

"Dinner." she said nonchalantly.

"What?" I gasped in horror. I missed dinner, how did I miss food.

"Just kidding, but everyone is downstairs for Dinner." she said.

"whew" I sighed as I followed her downstairs

Everyone was at the dining table; even my dad.

"What's with the party?" I asked shocked by the full house.

"We hardly ever have dinner together so I made sure we did." my mom replied with a smile. "Everyone is always too busy with pack work or something else."

I smiled and sat beside Bella. The extra large dining table was so clustered with coolers and flasks.

"Since we're all here...." my mom started.

"Dig in" my dad finished.

"I feel like i'm going to explode" Tyler exclaimed. "Your mom really knows how feed a person to death"

Bella and I rolled our eyes at his comment. Even though we knew he was right. My mom knew how to make a werewolf tired of eating, but in a good way.

"Well i'm going to bed" I said "see you guys in the morning."

"Goodnight." they all said and I entered my room.
