I stood watching Gio walk away. My whole body feeling ready to crumble underneath me. Today has not gone the way I needed it to. I need to go home. Yet I don’t have the strength nor the energy to face everybody to say goodbye. I simply turned around and walked out of the front door. No plan to speak to any of them. I would have to deal with all of this on Monday, no doubt, but right now, I need to go. I slip out of the front door in silence and go to my car, to find Summer already standing there. “Wait, what?” I asked. “I kinda figured when Gio walked out of the house alone that you were probably going to do a runner. So let’s go Liv. Think you dealt with enough for today. There is a takeaway and a bottle of wine with our names on tonight, I think. Didn’t fancy a burger anyway.” she
