As I arrived back at the pack house, I didn’t even bother to go find Don, I needed to check on my little mate. I wasn’t sure what I would say to her after our last conversation, but I knew what I had to do, I knew I had to break down every wall she had put up between her and I. I was determined more than ever to show her that everything she thought she knew about me wasn’t true. I just needed a chance to show her who I really was, I knew I had to let down my guard and let Adeline in. This would be difficult on both of us, after my father’s death, I made sure to keep my emotions under wraps. I was scared to get hurt, or worse hurt someone else.
As I approached the door of the guest room she was in, a swift of her smell hit me hard. My wolf was delighted as he chanted, “mate!”.
