Somewhere between my uncontrollable sobs and the tears ravaging my face as they streamed down, I must have tired myself out and fallen asleep in the same corner that I was curled up in. A subtle knock at the door made me flinch and my eyes bolt open. I assumed that my silence would have made the visitor go away, I was certain that it had to be Alpha Jaxon. The knock kept going, following with an unfamiliar yet gentle, woman’s voice, “Adeline, I know you’re in there. Please open the door”, she pleaded. I debated staying silent with the hope that she would leave me alone but typical Adeline, curiosity got the best of me. I stretched out my legs to stand up enjoying the shaggy white carpet underneath my feet.
