Chapter 9

Arnold's Pov "Are you going to leave me?" I didn't mean to eavesdrop on their conversation, but I'm always concerned about where Simon is involved. It's not easy raising the child on your own, but I've managed to do it for three years. Tried everything I could so that he never felt the absence of a mother, but it turns out I didn't do enough. I didn't think Sienna was going to come back after what I said, but I'm glad she came back for him. "I'm not going to leave you." Sienna tried to explain to him, but he was already having a fit. This is probably the first time I've seen him behave like a child his age. He usually doesn't throw tantrums or ask for anything. "I want you to stay with us." He begged painfully. I was about to go over there and try to calm him down, but Sienna nodded and gave him a hug. Simon might not tell but I could tell that she was lying, she is probably going to run away in the middle of the night without telling everybody again but that's fine because I'll pick up the pieces just like I did when she left the first time. I don't know why we act so aggressively when it comes to her. It often feels like she is the one that got away, but I was the one who made the choice, and it was the right one. "You don't have to eavesdrop. This is your house." She said, looking at me. "Are you okay?" I asked Simon, who wouldn't let go of her hand while she was trying to cook. "I'm okay." Simon said. He has to be the quietest person I know, and the worst part is he doesn't do anything kids his age do. he prefers to stay at home rather than to go and play with his age mates. he doesn't like talking. Rather, he responds with one word. "I'm making lunch for the two of you. I hope I'm not intruding. If you don't think that's right, I can get out of here." Sienna said, and I looked at her pointedly. I don't even know why she's asking for permission because she's already cooking. "I don't see a problem considering the fact that you're already intruding." l shot back. They say that time changes people, but she hasn't changed her a bit. She is still the strong and opinionated girl l once knew. l watched her cook while she engaged in a conversation with Simon. Unlike everybody who let him enjoy his quiet, she made him actually talk, and l saw him smile a couple of times, too. She fit right in, and the house just felt lively. It took me back to our childhood. nobody wanted to be associated with her back then. She never let anybody get to know her for who she truly was, and she just got off to any and every mischief you can think of. She is the reason why I liked coming to this pack on holidays. She didn't treat me like their Alpha's nephew, to her l was a friend. "l know you're probably thinking of all the ways you can murder me, but you don't have to worry because I was invited for dinner somewhere else, so I'll be out of your hair in a minute. " She winked at me, and l smiled. She definitely isn't the same girl who left the Pack physically, though. She is still slender, but she has meat in the right places. Now, it's wrong to check out my former sister-in-law, but I admit she is the most beautiful woman I have ever met. "As long as you didn't poison me." l joked, but her face fell. I think she took my joke too seriously because she started tasting everything in front of me. "I have to go somewhere real quick, but I promise, l'll come back to kiss you goodnight." She said to a disappointed Simon. "Who are you having dinner with?" I ask her. It can only be one person, but I wanted to hear it from her. "Drew." She said, looking away from me. "We have to talk about your Pack Bond because you have to decide whether you still want to be a member of this pack or if you are thinking of shifting to another one." I said. I spoke to Alpha Luca, and he seems adamant that Sienna and his Beta are going to mate, but l don't like it at all. It's up to Sienna, not Alpha Luca and his beta. "I thought you say that I could go wherever I want, but this will always be my home." She said sarcastically. I did say that when I found out she ran away to Blue Moon pack. "I thought that maybe it was a childhood thing that will wear off, but since you clearly don't want to be a part of this pack then I don't see a reason why you should be one of us." I said. I don't know why I feel this way when it comes to her. I know that a part of me doesn't want her to go or lose her, and maybe this is my way of getting her to stay. She looked at me with a different kind of intensity. It felt like an emotion between love and hate. "Why do you hate me so much? What have I ever done to you?" She wiped away her tears, looking at me like l betrayed her. "Why are you making my mommy cry?" Simon suddenly kicked my leg and looked at me angrily. She clearly isn't the only person I've pissed off because my son was glaring daggers at me. "It's not tears of sadness. I'm just happy to be with you and your dad." She lied. "Go wash your hands and have your food. I'll be back soon." I wanted to apologize to her, but I just couldn't. I hated the lock she gave me when she walked away. I looked at my son as he happily had his meal. I know he probably thinks that his mom made a meal for him, but I don't know how to break it to him that she's not his mom. "How did you know she was your mother buddy?" I ask him. Sideline left when Simon was still young, and I know for a fact that he doesn't remember her, so I don't know how he recognized Sienna as his mother. “Because you have a lot of photos of her in your room.”
