Chapter 3

Pearl's POV

"These," I almost scream showing them the round tables and the decors,"should go there! This is the f*****g way that people walk!!"

I scream at the people but they still look at me and do whatever they wanted to do. I sigh and look around. Why am I here when no one wants to help me?

I just walk away and sit on one of the rocks here. Maxwell walks to the place and personally checks if everything is alright. I don't understand why this man is making this a big thing.

It is just another pack's Alpha with their unmated people visiting this land. That is all it!

Maxwell looks at me and glares. He then points his index finger towards me and moves it back and forth asking me to go to him. I roll my eyes and walk to the Alpha Asshole.

"Why is it that everyone here are working and you are just chilling?" He asks.

Everyone looks at me but no one says a word. As if they just did not ignore my existence till now.

"I thought chilling was for Alpha Darius's children" I say and earn a slap from him.

My red hair falls like a curtain over my face shielding it from the world. As if my hair doesn't want the world to see how flushed my face is because of the humiliation.

But guess what? I am over this bullshit. I throw my waist length red hair into a bun and look at everyone around me. The same people who enjoys whenever I get humiliated.

"What? Want to hit me more?" I ask him.

He glares harder and since he is the Alpha, I flinch and step back. The f**k with the title, I am equally eligible too.!

"Max! Come see this" I hear Camila and Maxwell turns around.

But he glares at me one last time before walking to Camila. Camila silently throws her thumbs up making me smile. Camila and Maxwell are the ideal couple when in public. She calls him Max and he calls her Cami. Only if the world knows what happens when they are in between the four walls!

I look at everyone are they are just staring at me.

"f*****g ignore like y'all do every minute" I scream at them.

They get back to work again and I roll my eyes. I walk away and take a slow morning walk towards the lake. Now that everyone is at the event preparation, I get some alone time at the lake.

"Girl! You are not taking s**t anymore" Mist hypes me up again.

"I never really took s**t, Mist! I was low because of Micah. But these bloody people still get on my nerves" I tell her.

"They will get on your nerves because you let them! You have Alpha Blood in you. You are equal to Maxwell" she almost shouts at me.

"Maxwell's mother was the Luna" I try to reason.

"But she was originally an Omega. Your mother was also the Pack's warrior! You have more power running through your veins than Maxwell. f*****g act like that at least" she scoffs at me and blocks me from talking to her again.

I choose a tree and sit under it. With my back pressed against the tree trunk, I look at the lake with my hands in the hoodie pockets.

"This is my life and I have to live with this" I whisper to myself again.

I sigh. But I don't want this life. I matter to no one. Not even my mother. She is just there. She gets all the expenses from Maxwell since that was what our father did. He passed away.. killed by Rogues. And Maxwell took the job of sending money to home for my mother.

I don't even call that a life. Sleep with Alpha, have a child and he takes care of you till you die. I mean, where even is her life? She stays at home all day. She doesn't even know half the bullshit I go through every single day.

"Should I really settle for this, Mist?" I ask my wolf.

She does not answer. Because once I decide to not live this way anymore, I need to walk out from this pack. I would become a Rogue. And we all know what happens to Rogues.

I am not ready for another round of humiliation that is worse than what I am facing right now. At least, I have a friend here. Camila. She would be all alone if I walk away from here.

"Argh! So f*****g frustrating!!" I scream my lungs out and sit back again.

"Let it out then" I hear an unfamiliar voice and turn around to see who that is.

I see a man with the aura of a high ranker. His eyes so black and brown hair. He smiles at me as he walks to me. He sits beside me and looks at me.

"If it is frustrating, then let it out" he shrugs as if it is no big deal.

"I am sorry. But you are-"

"Trevor Morgan. Yeah, it is so nice to meet you too" he smiles.

I smile at him. Trevor Morgan. The Beta of The Sundown Pack. Austin told me about this guy yesterday. Since they are Betas, I guess they know each other.

"I am Pearl" I whisper.

"Woah! Nice name. I thought your name would either be Ariel or Merida" he smiles and I look at him confused.

"The Disney Princesses, red hair.. you know" he shrugs.

I finally get the point and smile. It has been a while since I smiled and it feels nice. But I thought their arrival is tomorrow.

"Why so-"

"Early? Yeah. Blame my Alpha. We have never been here so we successfully miscalculated the distance" he smirks.

True. They haven't been here and we haven't been to their pack land as well.

"So now you will be here for three days instead of two?" I ask him again and he nods staring at the lake.

"I guess people who find their mates here are going to have a mini honeymoon the next two days" he says and I cannot help but chuckle.

It really feels nice to be smiling, chuckling and laughing. We sit there and stare at the lake. And I still have no idea why he is here and not with everyone else. I want to ask him, but I have asked him enough questions already.

"Come. Let's get back to the party" he says as he stands up.

"Party?" I ask him.

"Are you even from this pack? They promised booze when we asked. Enough with the sulking, Disney Princess. Now get up" he smiles as he gives asks me to hold his hand.

I smile and give him my hand. I stand up and look at him.

"I wanted a moment of fresh air after four hours of wolf run. I don't know why Beta Wolves have so much of energy the human side cannot take. My dude needs to chill" he says again.

And that explains why he is here.

"The lake is peacefull by the way" he smiles as we turn around to walk away.

"I bet you'll change your opinion if you visit this at mornings" I tell him and he looks at me confused.

"This is the only lake we have. Wolves gather here every morning after their runs" I say and he nods getting the point.

I lead him towards the event. And just like he said, there is booze. Beer, breezer and whatever you name it.

"Where were you? I was searching everywhere!" I hear another unfamiliar voice.

Trevor and I turn around to see a man with brown eyes and blonde hair. He is tall and has the aura of an Alpha. So I automatically bow down before him and he smiles with a nod making me stand straight again.

"I walked around. There's a lake" Trevor shrugs.

"And she is Pearl. My new and first friend from The Light Ridge Pack" he introduces me.

"Pearl, this is my best friend and our Alpha. Alpha Ryan Cooper of The Sundown Pack" he says and I bow a little once again.

"It's fine. You don't have to bow repeatedly" Alpha Ryan chuckles and I nod.

Maxwell walks to us and I bow to him. He might be an Asshole but he is also my Alpha. If he thinks I am disrespecting his ass before the other pack, I don't even want to imagine the range of punishment I'll be receiving.

Camila joins the group and she links her arm with Maxwell. She is now dressed pretty and I am still in tee shirt and joggers. I had no damn idea that these people are here early.

"Alpha Ryan, Beta Trevor of The Sundown Pack" Maxwell whispers to Camila and then smiles at Alpha Ryan and Trevor.

"She is my mate and Luna of our pack. The love of my life" he says as he introduces Camila.

I laughed and it wasn't under control. Momentarily, I forgot that there are people around us. That too an Alpha and a Beta of The Sundown Pack.

Maxwell glares at me and I knew I am dead for good. But I look at Trevor and he has an amusing smile as he looks at me.

"I am sorry" I whisper and bow down to everyone once again.

I walk away and sit at one of the chairs. The afternoon sun is hitting my face and I still there letting my body soak and absorb all the sun it can.

I then look around and see everyone with wide smiles. Everyone are moving around with either friends or mates and they are laughing as they talk to each other.

Life must be so easy for them. Sometimes, I really get jealous.

"That was a nice show" I hear Trevor's voice again and I sit straight.

"I am really sorry" I whisper.

"What are you sorry for?" He asks with another amusing smile and he stares at me like he is encountering a dumb person for the first time in his life!

"For laughing?" I ask him back and this time, he laughs.

"That is all fine. Sometimes, your inner voice doesn't listen to you. Let it come out once in a while. And did anyone tell you that you look beautiful when you smile?" He asks so casually and walks away to his Alpha again.

I don't know if it is me who longed for even tiniest bit of affection or if he is irresistible, but I guess I am slowly taking a liking towards him.

Now I feel like Anna in Frozen I . Falling in love with a guy I just met.!
