Beta's Chosen

Chapter 9

Pearl's POV

I keep running. For straight three hours, I just ran. Towards West from the run point of our pack. And when I reach a huge banyan tree that gives shelter to animals during hot days, I need to turn left. Then, when I reach a lake few miles later, I need to run straight till I reach the Sundown borders.

I am now running straight. At any given moment, I might reach the Sundown pack. I push Mist a little more and not to give up. But she is already growing a tad bit weaker since the running away also means cutting off ties with my pack.

By now, I am sure Maxwell and Camila know that I don't belong to their pack anymore.

Mist runs faster and few minutes later, I see rusty iron gates and I know I reached The Sundown pack's borders.

Mist pushes her way through and when she reaches the gates, she howls for once. Two minutes passed by, and still nothing. She howls again and a minute later, the gate before us is let down.

A man watches at Mist and I. His eyes go wide and he looks around in suspicion. When he finds no one with me, his eyes go a little more wide.

His eyes fog over indicating me he is mindlinking someone. I hope it is their Beta they are talking to.

"Down!" The man says and Mist sits down.

I can easily take down this guard but I don't want to do that now. I don't want unwanted attention until I see Trevor. Until I really know that this is indeed The Sundown Pack.

"Are you a Rogue?" The guard asks and I shake my head.

He lets down another gate down and I see three more guards. I see Mist nod her wolf head once and one of the guard smiles. He must be that someone who appreciates even the little things he have in life.

A couple of minutes later, I see a guy who is almost of my age. His brown eyes looks full of life. He smiles and he looks like he can be the nicest person on the earth. I don't know if my estimation is right with him.

"Well, you certainly don't look like a Rogue" he whispers with a smile.

I see Mist's wolf head nodding again. He chuckles and runs his fingers through Mist's fur.

"Can I ask him if he is still single?" Mist jokes.

"b***h!" I scoff and she chuckles.

I look at the guy before me and he is intently looking into Mist's eyes. He then smiles understanding my mindlink with my wolf is done.

"I am Edward. And I am the Gamma of this pack. The Sundown Pack" he says.

And I just want to do a happy dance right now. I came to the right pack. And this guy is the Gamma to the pack the love of my life is at.

"Do you perhaps have any clothes?" He asks again.

I see Mist shaking her head. He chuckles and nods. He turns around and tilts his head towards a guy. He bows and runs somewhere. Probably to get me some clothes.

Meanwhile Edward observes me all he wants. I just sit there and look inside of the gate. I only see land and trees. I don't see anyone else.

"What is the strange thing you've been talking about, Ed?" I hear Trevor's voice first and see him walk to me next.

My heart does a flip flop and I am instantly on alert. I see Trevor. He doesn't know it is me yet. He doesn't know my wolf colour or my wolf.

"Beta Trevor! See this. This wolf is healthy and looks like a warrior. Not a Rogue. But there is no one else around too" he says and Trevor looks around.

He nods and walks towards me. I see even Mist's eyes are shooting hearts at him.

Trevor looks into Mist's eyes and meanwhile, the man throws a pair of clothes to me. I look at that and at the man who threw them at me. I wish he was from my pack, I would have kicked his ass right now.

"Go on! Change" Edward says.

"Motherfucker. You need to turn around. What if she's a girl?" Trevor scoffs and Edward nods.

They turn around and I laugh at the way Trevor just called his Gamma as Motherfucker. I wonder why Edward is not offended. Back at my pack, they would declare war against each other if someone called them this way.

Mist gives me the control back and I shift into my human form in seconds. I put on the pale blue tee shirts and grey basket ball shirts. Both fit me nice I wonder if people here are so slim.

I clear my throat and they turn around to see me.

If Trevor doesn't hug me once he notices me, I am turning around and running back to my pack again.

Trevor's eyes finally meet mine and his eyes go wide. As if he is not ready to believe that I am actually here. I smile at him and he just stands still. He looks at his Gamma, then at the three other guards already looking at me.

Then he looks again at me. I smile at him and he doesn't smile back.

"Hi" I whisper and he takes three steps and towards me.

Once he reaches me, he holds my hand and turns towards the pack.

"I will let Alpha Ryan know about our guest. She is someone we know" Trevor tells the guards and the Gamma.

He then starts running towards somewhere. But his hand is holding mine so that is all that matters right now. I don't know where we are heading to. But as long as Trevor is by my side, it doesn't matter.

We reach a lake and there are three houses by the lake. Trevor opens the door to the middle one. Inside is huge. Twice big as the house I live in.

He locks the door behind us again and the first thing he does, is he hugs me.

I am not running again. I found my happy ending. Trevor is my happy ending. I wish time stops here and right now. I wish to be in his arms forever. I seriously cannot believe Trevor is here and I am in his arms now.

"God!! I missed you" he whispers.

He pulls away and takes a good look of me as if he is still not ready to believe I am here for him.

"I missed you more" I tell him.

"How are you here?" He asks me again.

"I ran away. No one cares for me there anyway. I wanted to go to the only one I care about. The only one who cares for me. So here I am" I tell him.

He smiles wide hearing those words.

"So you won't go back to your pack?" He asks me.

And I shake my head as an answer to that.

"Forever here?" He asks and I nod my answer with a smile.

He squeals and smiles as he pulls me in for another hug. I don't have to go back to that hell hole again. I can stay here forever with Trevor.

"I cannot believe this!" He says in high pitched voice.

He pulls away again and places his lips on mine. I take few steps backward and my back hits the wall. Trevor's lips are on mine again and his hands all over me.

He lifts my shirt up and slips his hands underneath. His hands touch my bare skin and I feel my womanhood explode already. I cannot contain it anymore.

"Trevor!" I whisper but it comes off as a moan.

"I know, Pearl. I know" he whispers and places a peck on my lips.

He smiles as he taps on my ass. His hands are around me and I jump onto him. His hands hold my thighs holding me properly. His lips find mine again and I feel us moving somewhere.

But a minute later, my back hits a soft mattress. Trevor smirks at me before jumping on to the bed.

He makes love to me deeper and better than before. I don't even know if those two words belong in the sentence. But that is exactly how he is making me feel right now.

One hour and three different positions later, we fall on the bed again. He pulls me to him and places a peck on my forehead. I smile and lean into him.

"This is the best day of my life!" I whisper and he chuckles.

"What are you thinking about?" I ask him with my leg on him and my right hand over his stomach.

He sighs before looking at me.

"For a few days, you need to stay hidden. This is my lake house. This is safe and no one usually comes here. Promise me you'll stay here until I get approval of my Alpha" he says all of that in one go.

Huh? My happy ending is staying hidden? What the f**k now? Someone give me a damn break!
