After we left the barbecue, I stood in front of Nora while she sat on my couch. I was figuring out what to say. Nora gave me a sheepish look.
“Okay, it worries you about taking things to the next level, but you don’t have to worry.”
“Why not?”
I put my hands on my face and rubbed it. “Because you don’t.”
Nora stood up. “Shouldn’t we discuss it?”
“Why?”
“Isn’t that what couples do?”
“Most couples do. We aren’t there yet.”
“But we slept together.”
“Yeah, but we had clothes on.”
