Chap 3: Preparing for the Future King's arrival

*** Beaula's Pov***

A year has gone by slowly with a lot of hardship, training, and creating new relations. I'm very fortunate and grateful to have gained a new family, having Madam Mary as a mother figure, Lizzy and Ruby as sisters and best friends, and Charles as an elder brother with him around what could go wrong. A smile broke on my face as I remembered his usual saying.

I can't wait to meet my mate tomorrow to fill this void in my heart......I know my mate will complete me, but a part of my heart will still ache for my parents and the pain I felt from their death will never go away.

Tomorrow is exactly one year since my beloved parents died and it's also my birthday, but I doubt there will be any celebration for m....I just want to mourn my parents in peace.

My thoughts went back to my mate, thinking of what he looked like,

Is he someone I know?

Will he be an Alpha, beta, gamma, or delta from the neighboring pack?

".Hmmm " I placed my hand on my chin in deep thought.

I will definitely accept him for whoever he is, even if he is an omega, I will still love him. I'm excited about meeting him tomorrow. I have been waiting for him ever since I knew the meaning of mates.

I have always wanted Luca, the future Alpha king, and my ex-childhood sweetheart to be my mate, but now I'm not sure, he might have found his mate and I don't think he cared much about me, since he hasn't called me for the past six years.

My heart was filled with excitement as I played my favorite song (Mirror by Justin Timberland) on my phone and showed off my dancing skills.

Lizzy and Ruby heard the song from their rooms and rushed into my room.

They giggled when they saw my dance moves. They quickly joined in as we did our crazy dance, laughing at our own craziness till the song ended.

"Get your swimming suit Beaula, we are going to the waterfalls with Madam Mary and Charles to swim. We are having a little picnic before we work a** off tomorrow", Ruby informed.

"Okay mum, you two sure know how to spend and enjoy your day off. And here I was, thinking of sleeping the whole day", I replied sarcastically.

"I'm sure you were. Get up with that big a** of yours and let's hit the waterfalls"

Lizzy pushed me to my closet and I rumbled an undertone," Yes granny!"

"I heard that"Lizzy voiced out

" I'm sure you did, granny". I made a run because I knew Lizzy wanted to end me now. As I made my run, Ruby and I couldn't hold our laughter, making Lizzy angry.

We quickly changed from behind trees into our swimwear and jumped into the water.

We splashed water on each other like little kids played and laughed about silly and funny events that took place in the palace.

"Food is ready," Madam Mary said with a sweet motherly smile as she came in with Charles along with a picnic basket and mat.

" Woow Beautiful Ladies with beautiful bodies" he jokingly said as he came towards us.

"Eeewww p*****t," we said as we splashed water on him, laughing our hearts out.

" Come, let's eat, kids. I'm famished" Madam Mary called out to us loudly.

We joined her on the mat after drying ourselves and started eating.

" What are your plans for your birthday tomorrow, Beaula," Madam Mary asked.

"Nothing much..... I really don't want to celebrate my birthday this year, I just want to mourn my parents in peace", I replied sadly and Charles rubbed my back gently as a sign of support.

"We understand but you have to accept gifts from us since we've already bought them," said Ruby in reassurance.

"And who said I would let you guys off easily? " I said laughingly, which they joined.

I continued tearily " I'm so glad to have you all as my family, just the thought of being without any of you makes me sad."

" Awww, we are so happy to have you in our lives too.....you're a rare gem. I hope you know that" Ruby muttered.

Lizzy and Ruby hugged me tightly when Charles shouted a group hug, he and Madam Mary joined and we hugged for about a minute.

Tears were in our eyes when we broke off from the hug.

We looked at each other and started laughing like someone had cracked the funniest joke in the world. We got over the sad moment and talked more about other things.

We made our way to our respective rooms with lighter hearts and smiles on our faces. That night I slept like a baby till..............

Till I was woken by a dream or let me say a memory.

Flashback

When the Alpha king Damon told me about the death of my parents, I rushed out of the house and followed the smell of my parents..... The sight before me as I got to the pack border was unspeakable. No words can describe what was before me. My parents were murdered brutally with some of their internal organs outside of their bodies.

I stood there frozen till someone touch my shoulders, pulling me back into reality before I became aware of what was happening in front of my very eyes, but I still didn't believe they were gone.

I walked to mother lying on the floor naked and dirty. I touched her beautiful face, uttering " Mummy please wake up, why are you lying on the floor? You look dirty and cold. Get up and let me run you a bath". I continued to shake her, but still no reply from her, tears were falling from my eyes as if it was raining heavily.

I went to my dad and commanded him to wake up. If not, I wouldn't talk to him, and neither would I train with him, because I knew he took my training very seriously. "Please dad, don't do this to your little girl get up and order your wife to wake up". Still no reply.

I started screaming and crying till I fell unconscious when everything sank in that they were truly gone.

End of flashback.

This is a flashback or part of the events that took place on that faithful day and today is exactly a year ago.

I sat on my bed thinking of my parents and what they would have done for my birthday when someone said

" Hey girly, stop sucking, I am here now and everything is going to be alright," said the voice.

I turned to scan around my bedroom and under my bed for an intruder.

"Who are you looking for ?" said the voice.

" You, of course " I announced.

The voice was laughing like I have said the funniest thing ever.

" You humans are something else. It's me, Kayla, you wolf" her words flowed with sarcasm.

"oooh...What....when and why did you appear?" I was surprised at the appearance of my wolf.

"Can you stop shouting? I can hear you just fine. Are you forgetting I can read your thoughts and I'm part of you? To answer your questions, I have been part of you from birth but I was dormant and since you're of age I have been awoken" she explained.

" ooh .....okay very nice to meet you, Kayla, I'm Beaula and I would love to get to know you." She nodded...I felt like I could see every movement she made.

I made my way to the training arena as it was past 3:00 am. This has been my daily routine for a year now. Charles was waiting by the wall on the training ground. He walked towards me with his shoulders raised high like he was the mighty master of the arena. I chuckled at this.

"Good morning my lady, are you ready to get you a** kicked?" he bowed dramatically.

"Good morning Sir, are you sure you are not talking about you getting your a** kicked?"I replied with sarcasm.

We trained for about an hour with no winner or loser. I have become strong over the months and now that my wolf has awoken, I believe I will be much stronger.

"Yes you will be," said Kayla, my wolf.

I came back to my room, smelling of sweat. I did my morning routine quickly to avoid being late. I headed to the kitchen to start my duties. Breakfast was made by the chefs and me, and I served the Royal family with my girls like always.

The Luna Queen Isabella Silver gathered all the servants and informed us about the arrival of the future Alpha king in a few hours and what needed to be done for his coronation in the evening.

Everyone was excited about his arrival and the ladies in the castle were whispering about how to put a lot of effort into their appearance in order to impress our future king.

When the meeting was dissolved, we went about our duties and by noon I was already tired from working nonstop.

Around lunchtime, I smelled the most addictive scent ever: mint and lemonade, which awoke my senses and made Wolf stir. Which was weird, the scent was different. I brushed it off and concentrated on dishing out the food for the royal family since that was my main duty.

As the girls and I carried the food toward the dining area, the smell became stronger. We placed and arranged all the dishes well on the dining table, trying my possible best to avoid any mistakes, since the king and Queen were at the table with the future king and other members of the royal family.

After everything was set, I raised my head and my eyes locked with a pair of brown eyes with a slight gold between his orbs.

My Wolf started screaming inside my head" mate ....mate..go to mate". I blocked my wolf out and walked out to save myself from embarrassment since he looked at me with no emotions and as if he did not want anything to do with me.

I was extremely sad my mate didn't recognize me. I worked harder and alone in the kitchen to distract myself from the heart-breaking event that took place in the dining area.

I was distracted when someone pushed me slightly and my back hit the wall. Lips covered mine, kissing me aggressively,

I felt a spark from the kiss and I knew it was my mate. He moved his hand all over my body, erupting sparks, and squeezed my a**,

I gasped and he pushed his tongue into my mouth and deepened the kiss.

We both fought for dominance and he won. The kiss was so intense that I was left breathless.

We gazed into the eyes of each other intensely as soon as we moved away from each other. I looked away, trying to gain back my composure. My mate, on the other hand, turned and left the kitchen without saying a single word to me.

I was initially confused by his behavior, but I promised to approach him at the coronation and straighten things out with him.

I finished my work for the day quickly and went back to my room. I laid down a green ball gown on the bed. I walked out of the room and stepped into the bathroom to take my bath.

I put on the gown and Ruby and Lizzy did my hair and makeup since it was their area of expertise. The three of us looked like real royal ladies with Lizzy in a blue ball gown and Ruby in a well-fitted yellow gown that showed off her curves.

We were over the moon with our appearance and with my mate in mind, we made our way to the ballroom to enjoy ourselves and interact with new people as much as possible.

The door of the ballroom was opened by the guard. And when we stepped into the ballroom, our mouths was hang open in amazement. We were amazed at the beauty of the place and the decoration was extravagant and out of the world...
