Chap 8: Shifting

               *** Beaula's POV***

I heard my wolf Kayla saying "It is time"

I felt my body burning as if my body was on fire.

I took a deep breath and exhaled, the pain was excruciating and was more than I could handle. I initially thought the pain was from Luca's rejection but pain is different this time.

The pain was around my whole body as if someone was tearing my skin and bones. So when my wolf said it was time I was wondering what she meant by that.

I screamed out loud but it came out like a growl, I covered my mouth in astonishment.

" It is time "

Madam Mary and Charles said at the same time. They look at each other and jumped out of my bed. My best friends and I were surprise and intrigue by their actions.

Madam Mary started ordering everyone around

" Charles carry Beaula through the backyard into the forest. Lizzy get one of her dresses from her wardrobe. Come on move.... move."

"What is happening to her" Ruby asked desperation and agitation but no one replied.

" please say something Madam Mary " I pleaded.

" You are shifting Beaula " Charles replied instead and chuckle at the end.

When he told me I was shifting , I was terrified. I honestly don't know what is going to happen to me. I don't know if I have the strength to shift.

I feel so weak after my mate's rejection and now I have to shift. I do not know if my body could take too much pain in a day. I don't think my body will be able to handle this.

" we are going to be fine " Kayla reassured

Charles lay me down in the forest and they all went back giving me space to shift.

"You are going to feel a lot of pain Beaula. Try communicating with your wolf" Madam Mary suggested.

"You will feel your bones breaking when shifting and the pain will go away soon after" Charles explained.

I was still in my clothes I didn't want to get all naked in front of Charles. I wanted to maintain my dignity even if I was in pain at the moment.

I try taking a deep breath when the pain intensified. I close my eyes as tingles started coming faster and stronger all over my body. My skin itches and I have an urge to scratch my skin till it becomes red. As time passes the pain becomes too much to bare.

" Beaula connect with your wolf" madam Mary muttered loudly.

" You can do it Beaula " Lizzy uttered squatting to my level but she still maintain some distance.

"You are strong Beaula" Ruby uttered

" Beaula relax and let me take control. You will be in a lot of pain but after our first shift we will be okay " Kayla my wolf anxiously said.

I nodded my head since I couldn't speak. Kayla starts taking control and I felt something pushing me back into our mind.

A loud scream escaped my mouth as I feel my body contort and twist. I thought I was going to beak in half. I clenched my hand on the grass on the ground.

And I screamed again which sounded more like a growl. I heard a noise of something breaking and cracking. My face and whole body is twisting, snapping and popping. I felt my spine and body rearranging as if it is some kind of puzzle.

By the time I opened my eyes I was standing on fours paws instead of two legs. I look down at my white fur which shines under the moon. Giving it a silver appearance.

Then suddenly all the pain was gone. My hearing heighten as I could hear noise and sound of other animals in the forest miles away. I can also see perfectly through the dark forest and far ahead.

I glance back at my companions who are now quite with the mouths widely open.

The look of awe was boldly written all over their faces.

I could hear their rhythmic heart beat, the blood pumping in their veins and their erratic and systematic breathing.

"You are stunning Beaula" Charles was the first to break the silence.

" You have a beautiful wolf Beaula " Lizzy was thrilled jumping up and down like a little girl who is seeing her star crush for the first time.

" You look silvery white. If there is actually a word like that" Ruby added giggling.

" Yes she is, I have never seen a silver wolf with purple eye". Charles described in awe.

" me neither " the rest of them uttered.

My Wolf gave them a grin and lay on her paws. They quickly came around me touching and scratching my fur and head which Kayla really loved.

They also run their fingers through my white fur.

They all shift into their wolves. My wolf stand tall than all of them because of the beta's blood running through my veins.

Madam Mary wolf came closer muzzle her nose against my neck and like my nose making Kayla my wolf pur in comfort.

Kayla howl into the night and they followed after. They run into the forest and I follow their lead running.

I run on four legs which felt weird but I know as a wolf it's something I need to get used to.

We run through the forest with me dodging logs and branches from trees. This felt amazing. I felt alive as the wind blow through my fur.

After few hours of running and playing we stop by a stream and drunk from it quenching our thirst.

I watched my appearance in the stream. And I saw my silver like fur and purple eyes which shines bright like the moon. I notice how beautiful Kayla truly is.

We made our way back to the palace after enjoying our run and the cold air.

They shifted back into their human form as I stand watching them not knowing what to do.

" Just picture yourself in human form Beaula" Kayla my wolf stated.

I did as Kayla suggested and I could see my fur and claws retracting. My body twist again making a snapping and cracking sound. This time around the pain was less and the shifting back to human form was short. It only took few minutes.

We made our way to our rooms talking happily.
