Aira’s POV What is wrong with me? I thought angrily to myself, putting as much distance between Knox and me as I could without raising suspicion. I simply could not seem to keep my mouth, or my body, for that matter, off that jerk! It was infuriating! Knox didn’t touch me, but rather herded me over to the piles of dirt and wood that constituted the main part of this project. “Xylander, how are things going?” Knox asked, an eagerness in his voice I hadn’t heard before. “Your Royal Highness!” Xylander replied. He looked at me, then back at Knox. “Things are going well. We have not had another break in the trusses. The wood quality is good.” “I’m glad to hear it.” Knox sounded relieved. Xylander looked at me again. “Oh.” Knox seemed to remember his manners. I’d been beginning to wonder
