A second chance?
‘Yes, love. Please?’ Knox replied even though, as usual, I hadn’t intended to telegraph the thought to him.
I tried to keep the rest of my thoughts to myself. It just didn’t add up. Knox looked sincere, but he’d been such a jerk to me, and he hadn’t said anything remotely like this when I’d been in Erupting Eclipse. Or any time before that, for that matter.
I guess I’ll have to think about it.
“I’ll th—” I began aloud.
“Knox!” my father interrupted, coming down the castle stairs. “What an unexpected surprise!”
The prince turned to my father, standing and bowing his head. “I’m sorry, Your Royal Highness. I just had to come. I love Aira. I can’t live without her. I’ve been asking her to give me a second chance. Pleading, really.”
