Knox’s POV I hated Winter Harvest so much. The only good thing about being back was that the pain in my chest went away. It had been annoyingly sharp as of late, and I’d determined it had to be because of this stupid mate bond I shared with Aira. If she felt half as bad, maybe this would be easier than I thought. Guards and a servant came to my carriage, crowding the footmen back against the carriage itself. “Who goes there?” a guard demanded. “Prince Knox Toprak of Erupting Eclipse,” I said, sticking my head out the window and showing him my standard. “The king is not expecting you, Your Highness,” the servant reminded me. “I know,” I replied, trying not to sound testy. “You can tell the king I’ve come to claim my mate. I love her, and I am no longer willing to live without her.” T
