Chapter 5 – The Club

2272 Words
Zeke’s POV We exited the train and went straight to the shops. I was actually excited about getting new clothes. Hannah said she felt like pretty woman trying everything on. We went into more shops that was entirely necessary and when we were done, we went to get something to eat to soak up the nerves, and the possible alcohol, and go through our buys. In the end, I went for indigo tight cuffed jeans, off tanned boots, a fitted white tee and dark brown distressed fitted leather jacket. I finished it off with a simple chain. I felt good, couldn’t wait to go out. When Hannah got ready and came out of Sam’s room my eyes bulged out of my head ‘Bloody hell Hannah, you look amazing!’ She wore stylish black ripped skinny jeans, a short black lacey tank, black ankle biker boots and biker jacket. Her Auben hair was loosely down in waves, and she looked a million dollars. ‘Don’t sound so surprised punk! Mind you, you look pretty f*****g hot yourself’ ‘Power couple’ I laughed. ‘You kids ready?’ Sam smiled at us ‘You look cute together’ ‘Thanks’ Hannah smiled keeping up the pretence. ‘Oh Han, sweetie, I am no fool, I know he isn’t your boyfriend!’ ‘What!’ I choked out. ‘Just stay safe, be careful, have fun and for God’s sake, do not leave that club without each other!’ ‘Yes Mum!’ Hannah grinned as she saluted Sam army major style before taking my hand, and we left. I was a mix between nervous and excited. I tried to keep my cool. ‘Come on, we need to get a drink in you before you give us away. Would you calm down’ ‘I’m trying. I’m nervous’ ‘I know, but that’s not helping. We are 21 remember!’ ‘Yeah, ok, let’s go get a drink’ It was still relatively early yet, and the club didn’t open for an hour, we didn’t want to be first in either, so we walked to the nearest bar that seemed safe and headed inside. Hannah ordered the first drink, I wondered where she got her confidence from, my mouth was bone dry. We found somewhere to sit and sipped on the cold refreshing liquid. I had never drunk before, so I knew I had to keep it simple on the drinks. It definitely wasn’t safe to be getting wasted tonight. ‘How you feeling now?’ ‘Honestly, better’ I laughed ‘Dutch courage! I had a glass of Sam’s wine before we left’ ‘Ahhh, so that’s why you seem chill. I thought I was being a wuss’ ‘You kind of were, but it’s cool, I get it’ We sat and finished our drinks while we chatted. Oddly we didn’t feel out of place. We had another drink, drinking it slowly and as the liquid courage settled, I felt ready for anything. ‘Shall we make a move?’ I asked, now more than ready to check this place out. ‘Yeah, let’s do it!’ We walked over to the club and the que was already building. That’s when I saw him. He was in the front of the que, about to go in, as we approached the line. He was gorgeous and he took my breath away. I took a sharp inhale of breath as I caught his deep blue eyes. I was momentarily taken aback. As I walked past to join the back of the que; I could feel his eyes follow me. I turned my head back to take another look and I swear I saw his lip twitch as he dipped his eyes. ‘Zeke, you’re staring’ ‘Oh, sorry, that guy…’ I trailed off. ‘What about him, do you know him?’ He walked on through the doors, hands in pockets and out of site, into the club. ‘No, but I want too’ ‘Wow, that didn’t take long!’ she laughed lightly. ‘Shut up Han, you are here for moral support not judgement’ ‘Yeah, yeah, I know, I was just kidding! Let’s go get you a man’ ‘Won’t say no to that’ It was now more than obvious to both Hannah and me, that I no longer had any doubt about my sexuality. But neither one of said anything about it. We finally reached the doors and surprisingly I felt confident. We walked straight in, paid, and entered a world I never wanted to leave. It was mesmerising. Lights, dance floor, music, a bar, podiums dotted around and men. Everywhere. ‘I feel a little out of place’ Han pursed her lips. ‘Oh come one, there are other girls here!’ ‘Where?’ ‘Um…. I think that’s one?’ I laughed ‘it’s still quite early yet and anyway, you’re not into girls… are you?’ ‘No!’ ‘Then enjoy the view’ I winked as we walked towards the bar. ‘Hilarious Zeke, bloody hilarious’ ‘What you having?’ ‘WKD blue’ I ordered myself a bottle of beer, hoping that it had less alcohol in it, I wanted to loosen up, but I didn’t want to lose myself and I was already on my third drink. Although at this point, we had been out almost 3 hours. We walked around to familiarise ourselves with the place, but mainly, I wanted to see if I could see that guy again. I just wanted to look at him. Weirdly, despite being surrounded by thousands of people, I was uninterested in any of them. Don’t get me wrong, there were some good looking blokes here, but I needed to see him. When we failed to spot him, I couldn’t help but be a little disappointed. But for Hannah’s sake and the fact that this was likely to be our only night out in forever, I decided to snap out of my reprieve and give her a good time. We danced until we had nothing left, and were having the best time, I don’t think I had laughed or smiled that much in so long, my cheeks hurt. We got another drink and headed to the side of the room to take a break. ‘We better make a move soon, but I don’t really want to leave’ ‘Zeke’ ‘Yeah’ ‘Quarter past 3’ I turned just slightly and looked in the direction she said, and there he was, standing across the room, staring directly at me. ‘f**k. What do I do?’ ‘Don’t know, go talk to him. He is fit. You have good taste’ His thick brown hair was longer on top and styled lightly to the left, with a little bit of lift, but no gel that I could tell, it was much shorted on the sides. He had a full but groomed and well-maintained short beard that accentuated his squared jaw line. His deep blue eyes were penetratingly piercing, and he looked at me with what I could only assume was lust. I swear I was drooling right now. I could feel the heat rise in my cheeks and all I had done was look at him from across the room. He stood up and said something to a guy he was sitting next too and started to walk over, I could feel my heart race. ‘Hannah. s**t. What now?’ ‘Talk to him!’ she squeezed my hand encouragingly before exiting side left, just as the s*x god himself came in direct contact. ‘Something I said’ he asked, leaning in, talking close to my ear over the noise of the music, his voice was as smooth as silk and his megawatt smile glinted as he stepped back. ‘No, something she was worried she was gonna say’ I don’t know why I said that it just came out. ‘Oh yeah, what might that be? Back off he’s mine?’ he laughed, but behind the humour, his question seemed all too serious. I nearly choked on my beer ‘f**k no!’ I almost shouted looking a little more horrified than intended. He smiled a little wryly while probing further ‘Not your girlfriend then?’ ‘Best friend. Definitely not girlfriend’ ‘Ahhhh, okay, so she’s your right-hand woman’ he seemed to visibly relax. ‘That she is’ I was gaining confidence with every exchange, but I knew I was smiling, almost grinning a little too much. ‘So, I’m new around here, anywhere you’d recommend going?’ ‘Ah, I am afraid I can’t help you there, I’m new around here too’ ‘Yeah, what brings you to the city?’ I couldn’t faulter now, I was on a roll, so I decided to keep as much to the truth as possible. ‘The bright lights of the city, of course’ and I winked. Yes. I actually winked. He seemed to enjoy it though, and he laughed, even over the sound of the music blaring, I heard it loud and clear. My heart was beating so fast I thought it could be seen through my top. ‘Fancy getting out of here?’ ‘Uh, I..’ s**t. s**t. s**t. Why did I stutter! ‘Sorry, was that a bit forward? I don’t usually… I just…’ Was he as nervous as me? ‘No, It’s cool, it’s just, I need to let Hannah know where I am, I can’t with a clear conscious leave her here without letting her know, that’s all’ Did I manage to salvage this, or have I f****d it up for all eternity? ‘Oh, yeah, of course, I would think you were a d**k if you didn’t’ ‘Wait here, I’ll be right back’ I found Hannah waiting at the side of the dancefloor. ‘Hannah’ ‘Zeke, what are you doing here? Why aren’t you with Hot Stuff’ ‘I am going with Hot Stuff, that’s why am here, to tell you!’ ‘s**t Zeke – f**k off! What’s his name?’ ‘Oh, I um, actually I don’t know’ I pulled an ‘oops’ face. ‘Jesus Zeke, at least get the blokes name!’ ‘Yeah, yeah, fine, I will. Will you be, ok?’ ‘Yeah, I’ll just get another drink, but don’t be too long, we have to go in like a half hour, latest, ok?’ ‘Long enough for me to get his number’ I grinned. ‘And a little more’ she wiggled her eyebrows and smiled wide. ‘Yeah, yeah, okay, enough of that. I’m leaving, meet me out front in half an hour’ ‘Have fun’ she called out as I left her and went back to my Hot Stuff. ‘Hey’ I whispered in his ear as I returned. I was slightly taller than him, but he was defiantly older than me, he was broader and clearly worked out. I could feel his slight shiver as I spoke to him, and it sent me wild. But before my mind clouded any further, I thought I should probably ask the burning question. ‘What’s your name?’ He laughed a little ‘Ah, yeah, we kind of skipped that didn’t we’ he looked a little bashful, but I must have been mistaken, there is no way this guy was bashful, he was gorgeous, he could have anyone in the room. Which got me wondering why me? Stop it Zeke. Stop over thinking it and go with it. ‘Oh, sorry’ I realised I was miles away ‘I was miles away, so, your name?’ ‘Ezra’ ‘I like it, I’m Zeke’ ‘Zeke? That’s unusual’ ‘And Ezra isn’t?’ ‘Good point’ he laughed. ‘So, you still wanna go somewhere a bit quieter?’ ‘Yeah, let’s go’ he took my hand and I followed him through the crowds of people. Just the simple touch of holding his hand sent a wave of electricity through me, the butterflies in my stomach were going crazy. We made it out of the front door and the cool refreshing night air hit me. It was nice compared to the sweaty, thick warmth of the club. ‘Where do you want to go?’ ‘Somewhere close’ I didn’t want to divulge too much but we didn’t have long, I didn’t want him to think I was on a curfew!  And I sure as hell didn’t want him to know I was 17 and completely inexperienced. I wasn’t sure I would ever be ready for him to know the truth, but I did want to see where this was going. He pulled me into the nook of the alley to the side of the club ‘Sorry, you said close’ he did genuinely look apologetic, which I found odd, I figured he seemed like the sort of guy that would do this regularly. I hoped not, but I wasn’t naive, he was obviously more experienced and confident than me. I laughed a little nervously ‘this’ll do!’ I knew it sounded sleazy, and I didn’t want to be that guy, but I did so desperately want to kiss him, and I was not ready to do that in front of prying eyes, even if they didn’t care, I did. He pushed me up against the wall and just the simple act of him looking up at me, into my brown lustful eyes was enough to make me hard. I was a little embarrassed at how easily I had become aroused by him. ‘Zeke’ he breathed heavily. The sound of my name from his soft full lips sent shivers down my spine. ‘Yes, Ezra’ ‘Kiss me’
